PSA: Once you start the Archon Quest, you're locked out of regular gameplay until you finish it.

I won't give spoilers here, but once you click on the "I'm ready to go" dialogue option at the start of Chapter VII, **you won't be able to play the game normally until after you beat the boss on Chapter VIII**. **That includes between the chapters,** as the end of Chapter VII is immediately followed by Chapter VIII.

You may quit the game at a point where "saving" is written on the screen and whenever you hear the teleport point noise, but you'll be immediately thrown back into the story once you reopen the game.

I'm a fast reader, and I managed to read the whole story in around 3.5 hours. I believe the average time consumed will be something around 4.5 hours for the whole quest. Make sure to save a lot of time.

I'm not happy with this. The story is pretty good, but not being able to take an actual break makes it feel tiresome. Even the Aranara quest allowed you to stop a bit to do your dailies before proceeding.

Holy smokes. Ik Genshit does it to keep players locked in but atp it feels like ur handcuffed to the game. If they’re gonna force us to stick thru the whole quest, then they should at least make the quests shorter and not like 5 hrs long

Huh? u mean the new archon quest? i still can quit the quest and explore the map tho. And the quest still keep my progress. Spoiler ahead: >!im at a point where the gang split up to find ways to rescue traveller!<. But i take a little break to pick up flowers for Columbina.

The quest basically is like enter the domain. U just quit it like quitting a domain. Thats it. It will keep your progress at certain points. Im not too sure how far it can keep, but currently it keeps all my process.

Yeah I'm not really sure why I'm seeing people say the quest basically has no stopping points, there were multiple instances where I left the quest and came back to the last conversation that happened before I left
