Now am I saying to be uninterrupted for 5 minutes? Or am I saying the cutscene goes on for at least for 5 minutes?

I got away from Iluga as fast as I could when I saw him by the Statue of the Seven. I've learned to avoid all NPCs when I don't want to be held hostage by a quest.

I didn't get pulled into the quest. I saw him from afar and tried to approach the statue while staying as far as I could from him.

When I approached the statue I saw the blue quest marker pop up on screen, so I carefully stayed on the opposite side of the statue to activate it, and managed to avoid triggering the cutscene.

the worst part of it is ur not in the mood for the quest and when u come back later ur just gunna come back in forgetting the entry dialogue.

plus how does it make sense to force u into a quest with a character ur supposed to learn about in an earlier quest?

That's why I used Furina to sneak across the water all the way around to the new artifact domain and to get some of Columbina's flowers, and even then I got two dialogues and five tutorials just grabbing a couple waypoints and chests along the way. Luckily though, the Archon Quest trigger is locked away inside the Curatorium

I’ve been through this song and dance so many times (I’m a launch player) that nowadays when a new area comes out, I unlock the map on my alt account(s) **first** and collect my materials there using self co-op, leaving my main map dark until I’m really ready to do everything at once.

The alts also help me do a trial run of the map in case I need to sneak around to a new boss without getting caught in a quest. This new area has at least 6 auto starting quest traps lmao. Some are just Paimon telling us to do something or look over there; others take over your game completely.

The way you word it makes it sound dumb, but remember that only one account actually cares about the “experience”. The other accounts are text mashing fodder and free resources for the main account.

It’s not about the time wasting; it’s about losing the gaming experience and choice to do things when you want to do them.

I just avoided him. Years of playing makes me avoid all NPCs out in the wild if I don't intend to play the quest. Was only able to get Columbina to level 70/70 though.

It's not even the quest, the area has so many new mechanics that you got bombarded with tutorial notifications.

And to make it worse, per Hoyo's love for making things complex, you know the names of those things are hard to remember in one read.

After playing through Silksong and then Sackboy's Adventure with my sister, I realized how much more I enjoyed implicit tutorials and gradual complexity over whatever Genshin (and a lot of other games) has been doing with 200 popups descriptions.

I don't hate that the descriptions are there, but I wish they could be a little less invasive in the overworld (didn't they used to just flash/highlight the tutorials tabs?).

Focus Mode doesn't work on all scenarios apparenlty. It can block some quests, but not all for whatever reason. It can still start up random nearby quests just because you walked into its trigger spot.

the new map will be explored in the new archon quest anyway im 99% sure, and they cant force you to do this quest during the archon quest when you're in focused experience mode

I think I kinda "tricked" the quest trigger bc I saw paimon talk about Illuga, but luckily I was near enough the statue that I just spammed interact with it and then just ran away. I did get sacked into another quest before that (i was even debating to take another step, but then went "nah they wouldn't make the quest trigger zone that big" and then they did)

Quick hack for exploring new region without interruption. Do quest tracking in focus mode for one of the old regions and the new quests won’t interrupt you while you explore the new region. Won’t work for people who have finished old regions’ all quests.

How hard is it to walk around ?

The quest at the entrance of the new region is clearly marked on your screen as soon as you teleport to the free waypoint, you can just hug the edge of the brige to not trigger it

The one in your screenshot, if you activate the statue it makes it obvious that there is a quest about to start right next to you, again just go around it, it's also clearly one of the 3 offering places of the new area, we've known since Luna I that those have a quest when you reach them.

I get that it's frustrating but this isn't like Chenyu Vale where the game litteraly grabs you as soon as you enter the area and teleports you somewhere else to force the quest on you. The quest is there, it's marked, you can walk into it or avoid it.

I think you won't be able to. If I understood correctly what was said during the live, a large part of the area has been designed to be explored while doing the quest.

I have this issue a lot. I've been playing for years (end of 2022) but really dont have fomo, and just enjoying the vibes (literally just starting actually farming artifacts and making proper teams)

Im just getting to archon quest in Fontaine. The amount of time this happens and I forget everything but he time i do the quest is crazy

This is honestly why I stopped playing the game. Every single flipping time I redownload the game because something is cool enough for me to check out I take two steps, get stuck in an hour long quest for characters Idk stuff about and then can’t even enjoy whatever I came to the game for so I leave. Rinse and repeat 6 months later
