[6.4 AQ SPOILERS] About Dottore…
Why in the world did we never fucking ask what the fucking fuck he wanted from us? This man kept asking us to work together with him, to be friends with him like we are with previous Harbingers and we know he’d never ask this without a motive.
WHY DIDN’T WE ASK WHY??? WHY DIDN’T HE TELL US WHY????
Am I missing something????

I believe what he wanted was to go in space and explore beyond Teyvat, atleast that's what i got from it
If be was careful, like he has been up until obtaining the moon marrows, Dottore would have been OP AF. "Power of the shades, in the palm of my hand" kinda thing.
Plot wanted Dottore to die, and therefore he dropped his guards.
I mean Dottore is smart, trying to get us to side with him by telling us we can get absolute power and kill as we please seems fishy. He could had gone the other way and said that we could go around using ultimate power for good instead.
Alice explicitely told Skirk to NOT interfere too much with Teyvat's affairs.
Skirk:
About Alice: Promise.
"As the Sustainer of the World's Borders, she tolerates my presence, but she did make me promise not to interfere too much with this world's affairs. That was fine by me, but I had to know the reason why. She said, many ecologists find it emotionally overwhelming when they observe the animal kingdom and see the predators hunting and the prey fleeing — but they'll never interfere in the process. Instead, they allow the laws of nature to take precedence over their own emotions. In her own words, "some call this being a callous observer, but I think it's merciful at the same time.""
Guess HP is somewhat the same. Just no were near as big of a psychopathic piece of horse shit of a cunt that Dottore is.
The Moons have the power to control Life, Death, Space & Time. The fundamental laws that govern how someone or something experiences life.
When Dottore got control over three moon marrows, he basically became a god with access to these powers, however, he had very little control over it, since he was in the "learning" phase. Which he was doing with all the hollows in Nod-Krai.
BUT, in ACT IV Dottore realised that Traveler is immune against these powers, when he paused time for everyone, Traveler could still freely move inside it.
I suppose this is due to him being a descender, and therefore not affected by "laws" which are only applicable for Teyvat.
Dottore could still manipulate the space around the traveler, like spawn a chair and such. But be can't directly use it on the traveler.
Hence, he is a variable outside of the "System", and Dottore being the mad scientist he is, doesn't like variables that are outside of his control. So be opted to give the traveler an option to work with him.
If Dottore was given time, he'd have become "an Omniscient, Omnipotent being" within the confines of Teyvat.
That is not entirely true unfortunately. He makes traveller sleep for 1 month by manipulating time. Both traveler and him agree that he could have made it as long as he desired.
Theoretically he could make that work by speeding up time for the rest of Teyvat right?
If i got it right he does the exact reverse of what you suggested. He slows down the time for Traveler's inner clock so to speak. That is why for the outside world time didn't change but from the Traveler's point of view it was a whole month of wait.
I say constitution because there is a chance it has nothing to do with being a descender. At least not entirely. After all time wasn't stopped for Columbina either and she isn't a descender herself.
No matter how powerful he became if he does not control the destiny his end will never change, but the traveler is a descended one who can alter destiny, the descended are not mere visitors but are not ruled by the destiny of the world and their actions can change it
Traveler, being a descender is outside the purview of the leylines and Irminsul. Hence, Irminsul or Visions, or constellations or fate or whatever governs the destiny is unable to obtain the data that is required to chart their destiny.
Think of a perfect looped timeline, that is, the ending connects to the beginning, therefore an object within the loop cannot escape the "fate" within unless and until an external force disrupts it as an "unknown variable".
The fate is simply a "predictive" model with immense power and data that can accurately measure every single variable within Teyvat.
And Traveler is the external input that is outside the control of "fate" that interferes with the destiny of beings within Teyvat. And when they are beings with the ability to alter the fate of the entire world, they are classified as "Descenders".
At least, this is my understanding.
