WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS

I don't know if they deserve a happy ending but still, I feel for them.
too bad for them , it's a tragic story
some people will disagree because they aways want the happy ending or redemption arcs that ends with happy stuff, but i honestly love this tragic way that ''sometimes people have bad luck and make bad decisions and end with nothing''

It's only in VNs that real romance stories reign (in video games).
... now wonder he could never find her. It's a shame since he finally mellowed out but he still has no chance to gain what he wants. Maybe one day.
The whole space is an imagined interpretation of what its like to be beyond the boundary of an Event Horizon. Space and Time are switched, hence why moving in any physical dimension is moving towards a certain frame in time (as seen by Colombina: the more she walks in one direction, the further into the past she goes). With Time laid out as a physical dimension now, any position you are in will be a time relative to the position next to you. Tholindis is 500 years away and ago in Rerir's perspective, the light from either positions would not be communicable in real time despite their 'proximity' (which is probably only again by relativity, considering if this space is a physical mapping of time, it must be long indeed). Rerir will always see Tholindis' afterimage as the light from her time finally reaches him; Tholindis in exchange will not be able to see Rerir because he *isn't there yet*
Also, the Prison of the Moon Goddesses would of course be the 'Singularity', and must say using Gravity as the chains is very effective. So effective that whatever gravity is used to chain Aria, Canon and Sonnett in place is so strong that it inversed the Space and Time Properties like inside a Black Hole, thus creating the trippy 'Time as Space' property. A simple prison, yet quite unbreakable
I've been playing from 1.4 and this was the first ever Archon Quest I completed on release day and only because I took leave for it. I'm glad these constant spoiler posts can't affect me for once, but it wouldn't be the worst thing if there's an embargo on this sorta thing for like 14 days.
This subreddit has already gone so far as to restrict posting images on comments, blocking insufferably over-enthusiastic fans from constantly posting spoilers for a week or two would be mild in comparison.
That can't be the end of Tholindis, seems like such a lame ending for her
What did having her appear actually add to the story? We already had the heartstrings-tugging moment of her with Rerir in his little animated cutscene when he became a Sinner. Was another one really needed? Wouldn’t his fate be just as tragic if she wasn’t there even in spirit?
Besides, it would make Rerir's punishment less impactful. Now, he's doomed to *know* that his lover is right there, just out of reach, and yet be completely unable to reach her. Being so close to his one goal and yet never being able to complete it is a punishment a thousand times worse than just "oh yeah she died so I guess you did this for nothing".
On the mechanics side of things, it would make less sense for the lunar prison to just kill her outright. Rerir said his soul and will remained somewhat intact despite his body being torn to shreds, and souls of Teyvatians only disappear if they merge with the ley lines or if they spend too long wandering. The ley lines don't extend to the moon's reflection so that's out, and time doesn't pass there so that's not an option either. This means that her soul *had* to be there, it has literally nowhere else to go.
They tend to not be gratuitous in their violence or bad situations. Part of it is because engine limitations, but also that's just how they want to tell their stories, because you can show really bad things without shoving people's faces in it.
Like the people in the dome? they're all dead. Every single one of them. But it's more of a show and don't tell thing. They mentioned that the bodies are dead, and they show you the bodies. But it's up to you to realize that all the experiments and all the domes are all dead people.
Which is horrific, but it's not like blood and gore everywhere.
In this instance, they could have done a cop-out and made them meet each other even for a second. But they didn't.
Did you happen to play GGZ or HI3rd? 👀
I'm talking about Genshin. Where a lot of it was not as obvious.
But if we free him for the Khaenriah chapter you won't see me complaining.
>"Sin" has tainted the past, and "Fate" rules the future, but his story has yet to reach its end. Rerir's obsession shakes the laws of the world
But now I wonder what role he has to play. I was convinced he would return as the 2nd weekly boss for Nod Krai. Now, I am not so sure.
We also saw in the aq that it should be possible for bina to release rerir and potentially tholindis' soul from that place
There's also Vedrfolnir prophecy about that he and Tholindis have a chance. Albeit Tholindis actually are dead.
Rerir has the same circular arena weekly bosses have and something that could become a "one-shot mechanic" unless you stop it in time. Idk what his reasons will be for fighting us again, or how he will even leave the place, but the feeling is still there on the back of my mind.
Once he's out there's a good chance he will get corrupted again.
Ooh cmon man, people moaning and complaining about nefer sudden story quest when we on hurry to see renrir past.
But we need to see his getting back sense on-screen for what? Sure hoyo can write columbina meet him in crazy state and he is gradually sane or when he enter that space suddenly all of crazy thought vanish. But the later will ruin the surprise meet with him.
Or another alternative is hoyo is giving us the detail how he became 'sane' with dedicated flashback but it will ruin the pacing. Its the same case like some ruining pace at demon slayer infinity movie castle >! When we got non stopped 20 min + of akaza flashback when he still alive despite his head is gone!<
STOP SKINCRAWLLER CYRENE
Plus, from a more narrative standpoint: Dottore has done a lot of bad to characters we personally know and >! actually killed one of them!< so obviously people would hate him more than the guy who killed a nebulous "a lot of people", most of whom we never got to see or meet. One of them is personal.
No way they give us one canon romance to end this way
idiot... the shit came out like 14h ago most people got school/work
the fuck you mean?
also its so late into the story no idea what you expect
Both Rerir and Tholindis got shredded when they first went in, cuz they have no Kuuvahki. The shredded matters are somehow thrown back into physical realm, especially Nod Krai, like how Columbina's body became moonlight and Nod Krai's source of Kuuvahki. When the body is reformed, it pulls the soul out from that space.
The second time Rerir entered the space, he had absorbed lots of Kuuvahki. His body survived, but for reasons, he couldn't move freely in that space like Columbina. He's trapped in his time forever, so is Tholindis.
The whole cataclysm happening kinda caught her off guard, so she wound up jumping into the portal out of desperation to, y'know, *not get brutally murdered*. Didn't work out so well for her tho.
hoyo will continue this storyline some day, if nothing else because Rerir clearly has the same base model as Varka and therefore, could end up playable.
"They'll be back, trust! Any patch now..."
...Okay, Hoyo.
And Rerir is under constant "influence" (Abyss, Dottore etc.).
Every mention of the moon gate prior to this quest was simply as "a one-way door to ???". Nothing about "and you'll die if you go in".
Personally this moment did nothing for me cause Rerir's character was butchered, like, 5 minutes before this scene, so I just could not care. I don't dislike the idea of the space nullifying authorities, hence the abyss corruption was lessened, but his personality took too big of a swing to try to make him look too nice, it felt waaaay out of character, both compared to his insane personality and his original era personality.
The idea is good, but the execution is meh, imo.
Would let us understand that he's had plenty of time to sit and ruminate, especially once we learn that the reflected space lessens the Abyss' pull on his mind.
I admit I was wrong (for now)
It could very well have ended there and then into nothingness.
That said, there’s no way this is the end of Rerir. I do think there is a more heroic redemption arc that can be further developed.
When they lived they held secrets from each other, so while they were together they were actually apart.
But now they're separated and they understand the errors of their ways, but they're doomed to always be near but never together. Maybe it's to atone for what they've done, but now they get to be together just never actually together (if that makes sense?).
She wanted to travel back to past to kill us after all lol
Need to get that off my chest after I unfortunately stumbled upon shit takes in X.
The Abyss, The Heavinly Principles, and themselves. Tholindis says as much. They had a love that was built upon a book of lies. The idea that they still love each other after all they did to each other and those around them speaks volumes
But the fate that befell upon them was...it was a long time coming. Either someone would want to get back at Rerir, Tholindis would break things off or not, or hell, even if NOTHING happened, the lies would have gotten to them in the end.
In the moment where they are one and truthful, they are eternally separated due to past mistakes.
It's a tragedy, simple as that.
