There’s lines from early in the game where they refer to Aether as “her” that have never been fixed even though there are other voiced lines that were updated. So it kind of goes both ways.

If it happened in the text, it's part of the canon. The canon traveler is whichever one you're playing. There isn't a different, more correct version of the story outside of the one they delivered in the game.
