Thoughts on the end of the 6.3?
So, what are your thoughts? Hows the general feels for the end, good, bad, satisfying, shit? For those who have completed the story, do you think this is the end for Sandrone and Dottore? What's your thoughts on palestar edict reversal from the Tsaritsa? I'm curious because many folks who were previously losing their mind and now praising the story so I wanted to know the thoughts of the general population. Personally it was very fun and entertaining, especially the final battle. It honestly didn't feel like the so called power of friendship as seen in Natlan, but a well coordinated fight. Though I felt that Dottore's end felt... uhm... unspectacular? Or maybe I'm just dumb who knows. Anyways, thoughts 💭?

Genshin keep peaking for me since 3.0. They have genuinely good storytelling and hook that surprise me every time, despite the decades of video games I've played before.
But I agree, it was definitively one of the best moment in the game. Columbina's whole story arc made me teary the whole time. Great character development, great drama, great presentation.
However, the way they handled one particular thing left me with a sour aftertaste.
Dottore has been an extremely vigilant, calculative person the whole time we have known about him. From Sumeru to Nod-Krai to his memories from the desert while he was Zandik.
Suddenly, after obtaining the moon marrows, he decides to let go of his defenses, and just Aura farm, giving everyone a chance to have a go at him? Even traveler who he acknowledged is "special"?
Come on, that's poor\* writing. Or... is it?
What if this was his plan?
"To Die? That's his plan?"
Yes!
We already know he can make fragments of his own, and him making a fragment that became a God level being, to be taken down by everyone else to fake his death is more befitting of who I have come to know as Dottore than this narcissist egotistic idiot who got drunk on power. This whole charade being just another one his experiments.
Edit : Typo
>!at the start of the quest he already become god after he managed to create the artificial moon marrow and if you notice he consistently looking down at everyone as he thought himself as the new god, which is true for some time because he didn't know about columbina and the three moon sisters plan inside moon reflection realm.!<
2. "To Die? That's his plan?"
>!if you notice, his plan after being god was was to get descender on his side hence why he persistently taunt, intimidate, and keep offering traveler a joint offer even at last minute when sandrone died.!<
>!for once, villain become a bit cocky at the end kinda make sense since he already have everything in his hands and then having his defeat by something he couldn't possibly know such as columbina time travel shenanigans to get three moons authority then varka, nicole, and arle pulling the freaking moon back to fake sky actually kind of unexpected.!<
Plus from a writing standpoint it would be very poor
People always jumping on the "new quest is peak" train and only after things calm down, do they think more about it and have a more clearer opinion.
no, especially Sandrone the way her death was kinda downplayed
With that being said, Sandrone's was importing Curve's core (the dead robot from Talochard's storyline in Fontaine), which ended up being resurrected as Chard Lombro by Aino, with partial memories.
Her situation is far too similar. She will be brought back in a new body. Whether she conserve some memories or not is the main question in my opinion.
Everything is just so amazingly written. The new map was so fun to explore, and I love the new mechanics introduced.
11/10, MHY has outdone themselves.
Only bit I don’t like is how long the quests are+the auto start.
Columbina has been handled pretty well and it was a good conclusion to her character arc.
It felt refreshing watching all the characters act without the traveler around. Sandrone stole most of the spotlight and I have to say I'm satisfied even if I didn't particularly care about her before. I would have preferred that her death wasn't being spoiled everywhere, it was really impossible to avoid.
The final fight is well orchestrated and I appreciate that they didn't lean towards the power of friendship for the victory, it stayed a theme for character growth as it should be.
Now for the bad part. We shouldn't have won the fight logically. The plan was perfectly orchestrated, but it was done in what seemed days and Dottore was behind the corner ready to attack and he didn't.
Dottore could have been better, he's not bad but every part of the monologue was really generic and at the end never sayd something meaningful. And having a moral clash with the main character that has little to no personality beside being a good guy doesn't help. At the end I ended up feeling indifferent towards him.
Varka could have been used better.
I definitely loved this latest AQ a lot, Dottore made me realize I missed having a competent villain
Only things which I didn't like :
\- The lack of actual good comeback lines from the Traveler. He was looking being lectured by Dottore without anything of substance to say.
\- Dottore and Sandrone deaths feel... really temporary. Which kinda waste the whole story. I really, really hope they won't bring both of them (Sandrone feels already a lost cause due to all the foreshadowing about sending her body, core and notes to the Fontaine Institute). They definitely are interesting characters, but "back from the dead" is just a terribly cheapening trope that ruins stories.
The fundamentals of Columbina's story was pretty good and they wrapped up parts of it well, but parts seemed to have confused people as I've seen many questioning when and where she was actually born the first time before all the time stuff inside the prison. Dottorre was set up to be this big bad, but during the battle mostly stood around and didn't seem to do all that much? He spent more time arguing with traveler and trying to recruit them then actually being a baddie, I think Roselyn tried harder and put in more effort. It also didn't explain how Rerir's soul got free from the prison the first time, if he couldn't the second time? Or how the doctor knew about his scattered pieces to try and revive him. The stuff with the traveler at the end when they finally find the ship was a bit underwhelming too, They're gone for like 2 seconds, apparently checked the ship off camera and gives a brief comment of them hovering over nod-krai in the past... Seems a bit lacking considering how much importance they placed on them finding those flight logs and the ship the second we entered nod-krai and they seemed far more excited in finding their old outfit instead.
\-Sandrone death wasnt mourne enough, just a little oh no at the end
\-Dottore was kinda like aizen smart and so, but suddenly he just aura farm and lose
\-Dottore yap to much trying to recruit the traveler while being a god, even the traveler said "what possibly could i help you with", logicaly he could have killed everybody and he even knew about columbina but he never destroyed the tablet he just let it load to 100%, crazy plot armor
\-End focus cutscenes, like there was a lot of talk during this quest and i feel like it could have been way less and more interesting story if the just cut out the part where dottore kidnap traveller and explains to him boring stuff for like 3 hours, only necesary thing was columbina part, sandrone and some prep.
\-Feels like they won trough the power of friendship
\-They gave us like 2 breaks for 8 hour quest crazy
\-The wandere was dottores biggest rival we didnt even get to see him fight dottore and we were waiting since sumeru for the rematch. probably cause he not a new chara so he dosent make hoyo money so the just got him out
\-Maybe plothole but how come both columbina and dottore have the trilunar authority, wouldnt the power of the moons overlap and give half to columbina and half to dottore insted of full?
\-also kinda of a stretch that nicole and arlechino pulled the moon down and somehow dottore could keep it up while he had 3 marrows and they had 0 but hey power of frendship is strong.
so tldr they made dottore to strong then they nerfed the story and his iq so they make him lose.
Positives:
im not gonna go trough all positive but the most important ones and very fast:
\- Loved the columbina time loop
\- Loved the cutscenes
\- Overall story was better then natlan, inazuma, lyue, mondstadt
\- They werent afraid to kill someone
\- complex story
Some things that could have been cool also, but this are just ideas:
\-They could have let the villain (dottore) win and we would have had to evacuate nodkrai and the story of us would have continued by going to sneznaya and getting the help of the tsaritsa to beat dottore. would have been something new and a story that stretches over 2 regions.
\-Another idea could have been for us to lose and some of the characters to die and then we find a way to go back in time and try to fix our mistakes. (like in avengers endgame)
