I have a theory (kind of.)
I have been playing this game since about version 1.5 when the Eula banner dropped, and ever since then I have lost about five limited character banner 50-50s ever. My highest constellation standard character is Qiqi at C2.
Now I fully admit that during the period of time that Fontaine was the prevalent region, I exclusively played archon quests and world quests and didn’t bother pulling characters too much, and I took a break from the game altogether for the majority of the year that Natlan was prevalent. As a result I do not have as many characters as other people who may have been playing since near the beginning of the game may have, and as a result not as many chances to pull.
Having recorded the last eight 50-50 wins as well as technically having nine in a row at this point due to winning Nilou’s banner (albeit unrecorded), with the streak having been broken before that losing on Navia banner and getting my C0 Mona, I have four theories as to why this incredibly unlikely occurrence may have happened. I only regret that I lost all of my paimon.moe data from before I took a break from playing the game, and as a result I lost perhaps about 500,000 primos worth of information.
1. Genshin account luck is seeded and unchanging from the moment you have made your account.
This is personally my least favorite theory because that means that there is no way to get around having bad luck and it also just sounds really boring.
2. Genshin account is pure randomness and determined every time you click the pull button.
This is a more likely theory, but as someone that does not believe in true randomness, but the likelihood of these happenings is just quite frankly incredibly small.
3. Having not pulled a single time on the beginner Banner, Genshin still thinks I am a beginner at the game and thus granted me better luck.
I think this would be quite funny if this was true, in which the luck that you have in the game is determined by other factors in the game that are not necessarily related. At this point it is just a bit, and I’m sorry Noelle but you will be staying at C5 for the foreseeable future.
4. Genshin happens to know that I learn all of the character themes on the piano for the characters I wish to pull, and thus granted me perfect luck. I’ve only lost 50-50s on characters in which I have not played their theme on the piano.
All I have to say for this one is that this is probably the largest coincidence in my life. I cannot think of something that is statistically rarer that has ever happened to me. I’ve been playing piano since I was 10, and playing this game for what feels like many years at this point. Ever since my very first character (Ayaka), I’ve always learned every single song I’ve loved on the piano, and maybe the Heavenly Principles are watching me.
