Returning player
Hi! I’ve been thinking of going back to Genshin. I started playing during ver 2.2 and I stopped playing when Natlan got released because I got bored of the daily grind and got burnt out. Any tips for a returning veteran? I got burnt out because there was no skip feature.

* If grinding/meta/character collection is your main shtick, I hate to tell you that quests have gotten longer and wordier. A joy for us story folk but less so for those looking to blaze through the content. Still, there is tons of content and thus tons of primos up for grabs.
* If you're looking for story, the game really is starting to settle into a nice groove and (for the most part) the plot holes are getting closed and a sense of finality is beginning to loom. Good time to get back into, I say.
* If you're looking to explore or play casually, the newer regions definitely have excellent mechanics for that, particularly Sumeru -> Fontaine -> Natlan, but you mentioned you stopped playing during Natlan so this might not be as joy-bringing for you as it would for a player earlier in their journey.
The meta has shifted pretty dramatically from 2.2 but since the release of Natlan, only slight shifts with a focus on the new Lunar damage mechanics have occurred. "Your results may vary."
If you get back into it, ad astra abyssosque!
