Can I get a fucking break

Spoilers for Luna 4

This archon quest won’t end. I’m a lore enthusiast and story player. I started the quest this afternoon and I just met Tholindis. It’s the middle of the night and I’m tired as fuck. I started skipping dialogue just to get to a point where I can exit the story domain. It’s been actual hours. If I exit the game, it’ll transport me back into my world and I’ll have to start again. I looked up the whole quest and it only lets you exit at the very end. Of a 7h quest. I want to experience it, but this is ridiculous. I can’t pause for 6h straight? I know you can pause in the beginning, be so fr. I want a break bc it’s so long and tiring. I was so relieved when the title card appeared and act 7 ended, just for a cutscene to start immediately and lead into act 8. And surprise, it’s still inside the quest domain. At least let me leave temporarily like you can with any of the endgame modes. I’m literally clicking as I’m typing this and my finger hurts. I’m one of the people who make lore theories and know characters’ parents’ full names. But please let me fucking skip ahead so I can go to bed without having to redo all of this tomorrow. And yes I’m a chronic player, have been since launch, but I’m also a student. Who has the fucking time. I’m glad that they’re cutting all the filler, but this isn’t better. I’m not mad about a long aq. I’m mad about an aq that you can’t pause from start to finish and will either lock you in for the entire thing or force you to replay actual hours of dialogue. It saves waypoints in the story, but from experience: don’t wager. It’s still agonising, especially if you actually paid attention up until then and weren’t half asleep mindlessly clicking to get to a point where I’m in my own world, therefore hearing everything twice.

Don’t play through this archon quest unless you’ve got 8 hours to spare in a single session, or be prepared to lose half of your progress during a quick dinner break. Seriously, what the fuck.

Sorry for the rant, this is frustrating

Was feeling the same thing. I love the genshin lore and worldbuilding but forcing people to stay playing during quests was odd to me.

You exit and it will start over from a few mins begore you exited. There are many many checkpoints

Yeah I know about that part, but I didn’t know how frequent those were and if I was even near a checkpoint. I assumed it’d pop up like it does when you walk past a waypoint in a story/ascension domain

I had to test it out myself. It's not like every 5 mins but you won't have to replay more than like 15 mins of game or convo. Not fatal imo

there are sections where the quest is saved, you can leave and reenter at that point

You call yourself a lore enthusiast and a story player, yet you don't want to experience every minute of the quests? An enthusiast doesn't care about the length. In fact, they generally love long quests. It means more time to dig into the juicy lore and story.

Like I said in the original post, I DO want to experience it. My problem was that I started it at 3pm (minus 30 minute dinner break) and was still sitting there at 2am trapped in the same domain. I’m a student, I have school the next morning, and I was tired as fuck. So yes, I love long quests, as long as you can pause them. Please take your trolling somewhere else

It's so annoying that it feels like you can't leave.

But there are a lot of check points, I left right after Tholindis (pretty much).

And will save the rest for later, recommend that

The game doesn't tell you when you can leave. Pretty much any time you control a character you can quit like you would a domain.

Yes its long and it could be paced better but as others have said there are checkpoints.

I only noticed a saving now once but there should be more.

They just don't make it very clear what you have to redo if you pause. I struggled to figure this out too.

Edit: Hoyo should probably fix this in the future or make it more clear. I love anime but I don't watch more than 4 to 6 eps if I get too into a show. Its like 2 kdrama episodes of 100 min at this point.

Once? it saved like every time we switch POV or get teleported somewhere else and have a scene transition.

Thanks, I guess I’m too paranoid from old quests. I haven’t exited the story mid quest since like 2.7 in fear of exactly that happening. I did end up falling asleep mid quest tho so I guess I’ll go find out if it did save

There just needed to be a few pop up windows where they will ask you if you want to take a break, and ensure you will come back exactly where you left off

I see others saying it took them 6 hours, but it took me 8 hours to get past the huge, semi-unquittable Luna IV Archon Quest. If you don't skip dialogue. The length alone is crazy and why did that have to be done in one huge chunk? What was the point of the new map when it wasn't even used?

Worst of all there weren't even any primogem rewards for the first Act. Not even the usual small amount of treasure chests. The whole 8-hours only had two treasure chests with 12 primogems, and a few measly achievements totaling 30 primogems. Zero primogems for actually doing the act. There appear to be a small amount of primogems for finishing off the final parts that I haven't done yet, since I quit as soon as I (normally) could.

For having to sit through an 8-hour continuous Act we all should have been given 2000 primogems each. How can we complain to the developers?

I'm not counting the 560 bonus primogems since it's time limited and we always get that for doing live events.

Another terrible thing about 6.3 is that we didn't get Liyue Chronicles, meaning accounts that are under 1 year old may not have a single eligible 5-star character for Temper Thyself. This is horrible to new players. We are being excluded from using Temper Thyself because no eligible characters are being run on the banners!
