Give me the option to pause the Story

I have been sitting here for 2 hours without being able to pause or leave the story without having to redo it again. I am even letting autoplay do its thing while i mald here. Why tf cant i pause the game man its so annoying it was bad before but it was never 2h+ bad like come on. I like all the characters involved but i really cant get into the story if its legit holding me hostage. I even missed my to claim my dailys but thats on me But i just didnt expect to be sitting here for that long and its only the first half. Genshin really needs to something about this. Moments like these are reasons why skip buttons in a game like Genshin is a good thing especially for people who are more into the gameplay part of genshin like me. Needed to vent since i cant do anything anyways right now thanks to the story.

PS: i have seen the comments that you apparently leave after its saved when a cutscene is played sadly for people like who arent looking at the screen the whole time i legit didnt see it once in 3h. Well atleast i can go to sleep finaly

Whenever you see the "saving" thing in the lower right hand corner, you are at a checkpoint and you can then leave and come back later without repeating everything up to that point.

It sucks that the game doesn't make that more clear.

you can literally leave. they put out the saving thing in the loading screen so you would know when you can leave
