I like Lumine's one better as well. I wish they'd make Aether's outfit more similar to his default one, I am really fond of it, but that open tummy thing is killing me.

It doesn’t. It changes back to the first skin if you even change to ingame cutscenes, which really throws me off.

I've completed the archon quest, then started on the brand new world quests. You switch back into the default outfits in ingame cutscenes despite having the new costumes on.

You're still in the new outfit during forced change-to-MC that are not cutscenes though (e.g. Katheryne)

I definitely think that the outfit will show in content LOCKED behind the Archon quest, so anything that can happen at anytime, such as Exploration, Event and World quests not locked behind completion of the quest, might still show the old outfit.
