Just like the end of Natlan, HoYoverse spoils pretty much the entire ending in the trailer, making you feel apathetic and without emotion during the story's conclusion.

The fight with Rerir had much more impact precisely because HoYoverse even hid the character's design in the trailers. In the case of the Doctor, though, you see pretty much everything, so when the story unfolds before your eyes, you feel nothing because you know exactly what will happen. There's no emotional weight, no twist, no substantiality to the plot, all because HoYoverse preferred to prioritize hype by revealing everything in the trailer.

Also, notice how the encounter between Rerir and Tholindis, his wife in the story, represented the pinnacle, at least for me, of engagement and emotion precisely because of the element of surprise. You didn't expect that reunion, it surprises the player, and it generates engagement and emotional investment. In other words, the peak of the story for me is exactly what HoYoverse managed to keep secret, when the ending should have caused that impact.

In addition to displaying practically the entire conclusion in the trailer, Hoyo also failed by deliberately generating much speculation about the design of one of the upcoming characters (you know which one I refer to), what would invariably cause the community to get ahead of themselves, speculate a lot, and end up spreading information about the character's destiny, spreading spoilers.

Perhaps in the future they would do better if they could truly generate a minimum of suspense about the plot.
