First off, I noticed how many times Dottore mentions gods with pessimism. From what it sounds like, he thinks men should have no gods. If that were the case, why would he want to become a god himself? He talks about paradise, yet experiments on people we see in the quest and they all unfortunately die. Dottore also goes on quite a bit trying to get confirmation from others he is a god. His words and actions are in conflict with each other, which begs the question: Did Dottore want to become a god for his own selfish desires, or was becoming a god part of an experiment to further the fatui's agenda. To me it seems like Dottore is disgusted with gods, and I believe it is the latter and let me explain

Who else in the Fatui has a gripe with the gods? We know Tsaritsa wants to usurp them (which may involve killing them, and better yet we know from the Director of the Harbingers, Pierro, that he has a personal grudge and bone to pick with the gods. For reference I posted a screenshot of the moment he was cursed by Ronova, simply for looking up into her eyes and somehow meeting her ire. The screenshot was taken from HoYo's video, Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: The Gods' Limits. In the following scene he asks the famous statement and question "I already know the price of gazing upon the gods, so tell me, what is the price of KILLING a god?"

I find it interesting that in the Dottore fight we see "Do not face The Doctor, for gazing directly upon a god invites punishment." It's what called me back to the teaser trailer and Pierro's words.

What did we just do exactly? We killed Dottore, who was testing his powers and making sure he fit the proper power and authority to be called a god. We killed a god, and in doing so will pay whatever 'price' that Pierro and the Tsaritsa are definitely most interest to know, it's literally on their agenda. Flashing back to the end of the quest when the screen glitches out and we see circuitry in the corners, I believe that is a hint that Dottore got what he wanted from us and we helped complete his, and his leaders' experiment.

I believe we will experience some kind of punishment from the 'rules' of the world for killing a godly entity and the Fatui will use this and the information provided by Dottore's death to get one step closer to overthrowing Celestia. It all really makes sense to me, Arlecchino and Sandrone being thrown for a loop makes total sense here as well, they're not pure loyalists all the time and they're bleeding hearts.

Now, how could Dottore survive this? Well, we know he used to have clones that he is present in all at once all across Teyvat, but agreed to destroy them for the gnosis from Nahida, all the way back in Sumeru. He can make more, it's just costly to him. I know he survived somehow.

Thoughts anyone, or am I on to something?
