my problem is back before they even IMPROVED the weapon banner i won every single time. Amos for ganyu engulfing for raiden floating dreams for nahida furinas weapon and yelans all first try. Since then havent won once. Worst was on arleccinos, had enough to get it even with losing but forgot to set the fate so folded and bought wishes for the first and last time. Couldve saved myself a bunch by not being an idiot

The BP weapon is a total of like 2% (or something that ridiculous) less efficient than her signature. It looks pretty and all, but for a character that just uses their skills/ult and switches, you don't really need that weapon for a measly 2% increase.

All deserved and makes sense lore wise. 20 pulls was alwsys given for the sake of lantern rite. Columbina was heavily anticipated and she runs with ineffa that got kazuha treatment on her initial banner and many wanted to pull for her anyway. Lantern rite pulls on first phase is only good, were that the other way, people would complain like on mavuika + citlali banner. People who wanted to pull for her, will pull anyway and will appreciate extra pulls and cosmetics. People who wanted to skip, will skip and won't get columbina shoved in their face each time they get a welkin.

Why is any of this a problem is what I can't understand.

The original comment was just making a presumably joking remark about how it took more than 20 pulls to get her (Like a regular account pulling from scratch, maybe even losing 50/50), while the first reply answered seriously explaining why those 20 pulls are important/being pushed in response to OP ("Mihoyo wants everybody to get her" in the title).

I more recognised the person I replied to from other comment here actively bashing it as hoyo "trying to sell her", then "gatekeeping the welkin cosmetic", but I couldn't find the comment after I wrote it. So if I'm mistaken about who I'm replying to, then my guy's catching strays for no reason, which I'm sorry about.

But my point still stands, there's alot of hate towards hoyo tactics, which I don't understand. I finished act VIII today, I witnessed peak worth the 5 years of playing and I go on reddit to see discussions and I see people shitting on bina welkin skin? Like bruh.

Also I saw someone mention that the welkin cosmetic is applied if you finish AQ, but I've got bina before that, so I can't confirm it :/

I'm not sure either because the first thing I did this patch was to pull and then finished the AQ quite fast so I just don't know what the specifics for it are.

Either way though it's certainly be a dumb thing to complain about considering it's a png and you even have to pay 5 bucks to see it for 30 days. AQ was peak, Columbina is an amazing investment/character, no complaints here.

That's dumb and unfair. I got Columbina before I started doing anything, before the daily reset, too, so when I got Welkin Moon, I got it right away. But to gatekeep it for anyone who didn't, it's really scummy. I joked, when everyone was glazing Hoyo for how good it is that they make Flins-only quests and Lauma-only stuff, too, that pulling Columbina will give you bonus primogems. Not exactly true, but I was kinda right. Pulling for Columbina gives you exclusive Welkin Moon look.

Its a minor cosmetic that doesnt break the game or anything. Plus its quite important lore wise, since welkin has been around since the beginning and we finally get to see her. She is the 'archon' character of this version after all why wouldnt they give her special treatment

If youre paying for welkin already, this small cosmetic change is the least of your reasons to pull her. And it makes welkin a bit cooler for people that have it, and a bit more enticing for people that dont.

Furina is too much of a pity maker to be overtaken by her. It's the ultimate cheat for popularity, give a character a sobby story.

Guys will be getting off on the protector role. Women will have either their motherly instinct kick in or relate to her being a girlfailure like themselves.

Same reason Mavuika didn't overshadow her. A competent, strong, confident ruler. You just have some guys gooning because she's hot and that's about all your audience. White knights services aren't needed, nannies are out of a job and girlfailures can't relate even In their wildest dreams.

If you don't like the new mechanics and don't want to invest in a premium nodkrai dps, just getting a single copy of her can really change things for you. Pair her with any taser team and bam. Try new lunar crystalize. Want to on field her? She's got lunar bloom built in... They aren't wrong in wanting people to have her, by herself she unlocks basically all the new play styles and can be played with just a skill burst swap which is insanely easy.

They've basically sacrificed 4 characters for her sake: Arle (RIP her personality, and we're not even getting a compensation), Sandrone (RIP her personality), Dottore (RIP his segment) and Columbina (RIP her personality). That's not very appealing. In the end, she's heavily an anti-harbringer instead of a harbringer, basically, so whoever wanted her before the last two game versions must be really upset. Personally, I had really wanted to pull Bina before I did the plot of the previous patch, and sadly the current one has only made it worse

What is her real selling point for most casual players and the reason she WILL sell well is her meta placement though. They've made her enable new gameplay mechanics, so she'll make the game much more comfortable for a long time, like Furina did at the time of her release

I lost my 50/50 on Durin a patch prior so I just opted to start saving for her since I only needed about 40 something wishes (ended up at 83 pity instead of 78 so I’m glad I saved extra). Now I’m opting to see if I want to get Zibai now, or just wait for Flins and get her on her rerun.
