“Genshin doesn’t need a skip button, it’s a lore heavy game”
Lore enjoyers when 10 characters all gather in a circle taking turns each explaining how khuuvaki causes Varka’s ssa to clap when he walks, all while using 15 allegories, 20 anecdotes and Paimon repeating everything in verbatim just in case the player’s deaf or mentally incapacitated
Oh! And don’t forget the dialogue options for traveler
\> that’s definitely not just one piece of dialogue…
\> split in half with an ellipse.
Please stop making excuse for a billion dollar company, their writing is strategically bloated to inflate play time to create an illusion of content. Why would anyone willingly spend 3 hours of their life listening to lore we already know, most of the lore we got of the moon sisters and the funerary war were things we already knew like a year ago, if you’re an actual “Lore player” you wouldn’t need that information being spoonfed to you in 50 paragraphs because an artifact already did in only 5 sentences

Basically you’re apportioning blame to players and acting like these people are the reason there’s no Skip button. A false equivalence. HSR got a skip button when the community stance on it was basically as split as it is in Genshin.
> Isn’t pointing out faulty statements common practice in debates? Or is that problematic as well? Anyone’s more than welcome and disprove everything I said as Bs.
I didn’t say your statements were faulty, I said this approach isn’t the solution. “Debating” it gets you nowhere, it’s been debated for years, You win the debate and does the Skip button appear as your reward? No
I do. One of the reasons why I enjoy playing GI is that. So yeah.
Who's 'we'?
Nod Krai's AQ actually does a good job at explaining things for people who just follow the AQ arc and don't go into fanfic theorizing analyzing every bread crumb they find in the game. Which is like the majority of players.
For once you can actually follow the thread of the story from start to finish without you being bombarded with random literal who characters and terms every minute.
Dialogue that is just characters name dropping made up nonsense is horrible.
What about we actually go do something?
Heck even the characters just sitting there screaming while they power up for 10 minutes DBZ style would be better than constantly spouting off names of made up things, made up pointless lame tragic backstories, and constantly retconned illogical fairy tale logic.
I just finished the Siege of Drezen in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous for the 10th time and even though it took about 10 hours over the course of several days I was still invested in it because MY character was actually doing something important for the story and herself personally.
But there is absolutely no investment or interest in a story as poorly written as Genshin's that won't let you interact with it or get anything out of it or grow your character's power. It is a vast empty desert of pointlessness.
Where is the story going and how is this archon quest contributing to us arriving at that destination?
In the siege of Drezen, the overall story is that demons invaded from Hell through portals that no one knows how to close. They took the fort of Drezen 70 years ago and have been using it as a major staging area ever since. At the start of the game an army of demons from this fort invaded the town you just arrived at to attend a festival being held in the town.
After retaking the town you and the army of crusaders were tasked by the Queen with working towards building up a larger army to retake this major demon stronghold. So this was the culmination of everything you the player had been doing during the gameplay up to that point in time.
And now that we have Drezen we can use this as our own fortified staging point to build up a larger army to attack the last two remaining demon strongholds, build up the power of our own character so we can defeat the demon lords on our own, and use the time we bought with this victory to learn about how the demon portals work and figure out how to close them.
But what about Genshin's archon quest? What was the buildup and payoff? What does our character get out of it? Why were they even there in the first place? Why was it happening? How does the resolution of this quest contribute to the overall story?
