Will Columbina + Ineffa hold up in the future?

We know they're THE wheelchair duo right now due to how well they complement each other as subdps. But will they continue to be good beyond Nod Krai? As good as, say, Mavuika and Citlali together? Pulling for them both would be a big commitment, so I'm curious to hear about their potential when it comes to longevity. Do you think they'll be a good investment long-term?

its not as good as mavuika citlali now more so because mavuika citlali isnt a wheelchair its one of the strongest dps in the game and her best support not just two supports who want a dps to go on field for them

Well, obviously. I used them as a comparison because they're able to brute force content that isn't designed with a gimmick catering to them. I'm not expecting Ineffa + Bina to do as much damage as Mav + Citlali, this is more about their value to an account. It's a given that you still need a good dps/driver to best utilize them.

We don't know what power creep will look like in two years, back at the end of Sumeru. nobody would have predicted Mauvika.

But they're a powerful, flexible core with built in sustain, vertical investment opportunities, and a whole lot of damage. I can't imagine them falling off until the end of 7.x at the earliest

I do agree with the two year power creep cycle. One expansion to the next it’s not huge but when you look across 3 it’s noticeable. Pre Fountaine it’s noticeable especially. It does help that supports tend to have a longer lifespan.

This is a gacha game meant to sell characters, they'll age out like other characters age out. Characters are as good as you make them. If you keep them at C0 and play casually they have around two years. If you main them hardcore and farm artifacts, learn combos/optimal rotations or vertically invest, a lot longer.

I don't think any character is good to think of as a long-term investment. Power creep exists, metas shift constantly. Nobody knows what the power levels and meta look like in a few years.

They'll probably be good for a decent while, but impossible to know how long.

You might wait years and years for the answer to this question. They’re the best wheelchair right now and they make pretty much every old playable character you benched viable again, will someone else eventually come along… probably someday.

The only type of character in any gacha game with any kind of long term relevance is a generalist support boosting a core stat, preferably with some other benefits. Like Bennett, or Kazuha.

Both Columbina and Ineffa are specialist supports that only boost their own specific gimmick.

They'll be relevant for a year or two, like anything else.
