Still won't forgive him for betraying Dain like that

He wasn't a "grey" character, he was evil. A monster born of circumstance is a monster nonetheless.
I didn't see it as him "redeeming" himself in the Archon Quest, since he really can't be redeemed. But at least he recognises his past actions.

I wouldn’t say he was evil, evil is what dottore is, rerir was a blind follower of his king and that was his biggest flaw. He only realised the path he was going on was wrong when he got the order to kill tholindis. Had he been evil he wouldn’t have felt bad about his actions at all.

He didn't feel bad about his actions until it came back to him. I wouldn't feel any sympathy for him. He wasn't a blind follower, he knew exactly what he was doing. He was very apathetic. There is also the fact that insubordination would probably result in death. Though the result he ended up with is worse than if he had just been executed.

I killed your entire family. You find out I had some misfortunes in my life that let me to this path. I went to jail, and had time to think about what I have done. I am sorry for all the people I have hurt. Am I forgiven now? Can I get out of the jail?
One act of kindness doesn't redeem Rerir for all the evil he has done.

Calling the equivalent of a Gestapo officer who killed children as a grey character is definitely one of the takes of all time.
That wasn't really a redemption as more of his aftermath. He mellowed down but he recieved his rightful punishments. He was willing to do anything dirty and destroy everything in his way to see his lover and now he is eternally close and yet will never be with her.
He was a great villain and he got what he deserved

> He was a very grey character.
Fuck no he wasn't, lmao.
He was pulling some Third Reich shit under King Irmin, and was apathetic to it.

A lot of people are confusing his character development for 'redemption'. He receives some amazing development, and I love him as a character because he is so well written, but in no way is he redeemed

He is no more redeemed than Scaramouche was.
They both received consequences for their actions. They both have had a chance to feel remorse about it. Neither is redeemed.
