Whats the order of quests to do in order to play for "lore" only?

For context i played from the game release till around the end of the Sumero quest line for Nahida, after that i was burnout and haven't touched the game at all.

So now i figured enough time has passed that i will have content for weeks or months to catch up with the story so i come to ask which quest (outside of the main ones) are relevant to the story and in what order i should be doing them?

And lastly, have we got a 5\* standard banner selector yet? i remember wanting to get Mona but i got everyone except her.

When you get to Fontaine, you definitely want to do the Narzissenkroitz quest line, though it is satisfying to finish it after the main AQ of the region. In Natlan you want to do the Questline with the Little One (saurian companion) can be done before or after the main AQ.

We have a timeline now in-game that shows where character quests are placed compared to the main Archon Quest, so you can easily see that after opening the game.

As for world quests, I think there's no mistake in doing the world quests of a region before going to the next one. If you finished Sumeru, do it's world quests in the forest and desert before going to Fontaine, and keep following that logic.

You can get Mona in the selector, yes. It's active for you to claim as you login.

Bad news, I just noticed that if you already had an account, that selector had a time limit of 40 days. I thought it was permanent for everyone until they claim a character, not only new players, my bad...

Next selector only on the next anniversary in September...

They *just* added a timeline you can follow for archon and character story quests

Complete Aranyaka before Sumeru Act 5. Complete Golden Slumber and Dirge of Bilquis before starting Fontaine.

Complete the Narzissenkreuz Ordo quests after Fontaine Act 5.

Complete the Little Buddy quests except for volcano before Natlan act 5. Complete the volcano after Natlan act 5.

Do the Hiisi Island nod krai quests ASAP, the rest can be done anytime but the extra moonchanter lore adds a lot, IMO

btw have they added a previous event tab yet? so i can play previous events that might have lore on it? i remember back in the day if you missed an event with lore (like the one with the Albedo clone) there was no way to play it again

They *just* added a tab for permanent event stories, which includes the latest summer event(do before nod krai) and this year's lantern rite.

I am very hopeful that it means we will get some of the key older events added in, but no official word yet on that.

Oh shit I almost forgot - do the volcano quest in Natlan BEFORE the ineffa interlude, but after natlan act 5. Ineffaquest references some lore from the volcano.

I always recommend [this guide](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19KYfTSNpTNXCvwbcPeN3T9Cylc0AaOIqwNysmFqOmWY/edit?usp=sharing) for getting up to speed on all of the lore in the game. If lore is your focus, this guide has been community-built to focus on avoiding accidental spoilers, retcons, or unecessary backtracking.

Personally, I recommend starting a fresh account, unless you don't have the time to free up for it, and plowing through the content in the order the guide presents. With focus and determination you can easily clear the entire game in under 6 months, barring new content. It's taken me 6 months of one hour a day to 100% all quests (including WQs, hidden WQs, CQs/SQs, and hangouts), and collect all artifacts and weapons (minus non-F2P) for lore.

To be fair, my current account (as the name implies) is dedicated to this, so it might take you more or less time, depending on how you play. :)

i did think of starting anew but in the end went against the idea because there was just too much investment on my account to just ditch it all and start anew besides i also like to do "theme" teams and only use characters and weapons from the region im currently at so for example if i go to mondstat region, i would use my team of Mondstat characters only which was Eula / Lisa / Amber / Jean and equip them with their "lore" accurate weapons or their banner weapons so it would be SoBP for Eula, Favonious codex for Lisa, Favonious Bow for Amber, Aquila Favonia for Jean.

And like that for liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru and the Adventurers Guild, if there was too many characters for a single region i would even further divide them into whatever "faction" they were a part of like Mondstat i had 2 teams, the Favonious Knights team and the "Civilian" team which was a mix between the alchemist duo of Albedo and Sucrose with the church duo of Barbara and Rosaria.

Hell i remember i made a whole post on this subreddit about the "lore accurate" weapons for Mondstat and Liyue characters i cant remember if i also included Inazuma on it as well

Hey, that's awesome! My most recent account is a "Locals Only" challenge account. A bit looser than yours with the restrictions, it sounds like, but it's cool hearing someone else play like that. +1 for neat idea!

And yeah, I can understand feeling invested. I'm at 5 accounts now and three have been fully completed but I can never quite let them go... <\_< And yes, I have a problem. lol
