possible hsr genshin story overlap?

at the end of the new aq, nicole tells us that the world of teyvat is more easily discoverable by the outside universe because of the scuffle at the world border.

it made sense why, if genshin and hsr existed in the same (general) universe, teyvat wouldn't be talked about more in hsr because it was undetectable. however, because of this weakening of teyvat's borders, it makes me wonder if an overlapping story between hsr and genshin might happen. it might not be soon, but it might happen. if it does, i wonder how that bodes for the overall story of genshin. for hsr, it might not mean much because of how (imo) cooked the story already is. genshin, on the other hand, has relatively stayed its ground in terms of quality because the writers know what scope means.

also quick tangent, the thought occurred to me that the hp might be genshin's elysia variant. god save us all.

The heavenly principles are referred to as androgynous and with 'unknowable gender' in multiple lore texts. They are 100% not Elysia.

We haven't had an expy in Genshin since Raiden Shogun. Back in the first year, I think they had some longer term plans for honkai references, but at this point in time I think Genshin's success independent of the honkaiverse means we won't see any direct crossovers or HSR factions showing up in Teyvat

It would feel *really* weird and out of place.

i definitely agree. genshin has solidified itself as a fantasy game. incorporating sci-fi elements (and the purple language of hsr that has alienated a lot of players) into the game probably wouldnt do well for the game, at least until after the main story is done.

Malvika is Himiko just none of the depression. Yae is Yae. Sandrone has a lot in common with Herta.

Mauvika isn't a Himeko expy, Sandrone isn't a Herta expy(not even close). Hoyo loves repeating themes and stories(just look at cyrene and columbina) but when they put expies in they are *not* subtle about it, it's not a "this character looks similar if you squint"

I'll give you yae, I somehow forgot about her, but my point stands that they haven't introduced a new expy since 2.0

I'm guessing you haven't played HI3? If looking at it from a strictly star rail lens, I can see why you might not see the similarities between mavuika and himeko, but himeko from HI3 and mavuika is so blatantly obvious. They even name dropped himeko's last name as the previous pyro archon, Murata. You don't just name drop the predecessor of the same position with the same name for no reason. Nothing gets more obvious than a name drop.

There is that fantheroy that Traveler is Akivelli. Columbina did make a train refrence they at the very least want to tease the possibility to the fans of both.

I wouldnt exclude a possibility of someone important at the end of current chapter using a key character idea of Elysia/Cyrene. As for overlap, i would exclude it for foreseeable future. So far, Hi3rd and HSR story have yet to catch up to each other and show an intertwining point, let alone Genshin, which is a different IP

that is true with the hi3/hsr overlap. personally im more versed in the genshin/hsr story, so i dont know if hi3 is currently at a point in which it COULD potentially overlap with hsr but based on vibes i get from hsr it doesnt seem like we're at the point yet. the ending to luna iv just made me think that as we approach genshin's climax, we keep on getting referred to the outside universe. what the "outside universe" means (whether or not its actually just straight up hsr) is def up to interpretation, but it leaves me very curious. in hsr worlds before they meet factions like the IPC live in their own pretty self-contained bubbles outside direct knowledge of the aeons and paths (take amphoreus and sigonia for example) , so its not completely outlandish to me that what is going on in teyvat is completely impossible in the context of hsr.

but then again, doing a giant hsr/genshin story crossover would probably not do well among players. i think both game's fandoms (referring to those who only play one or the other) are pretty averse to the other.
