I know it won't appear for the cutscenes already in the game before you get the outfit but...

I'd like there to be an option that pops up after the game where you get the option "Would you like the traveler's outfit in cutscenes to be Rising Star or As Heaven and Earth Are Made Anew?"

I get it that the outfit won't appear for the cutscenes I'll see in Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine and Natlan because the cutscenes are already in the game and happened before you get the outfit, but I'd like to see the Heaven and Earth outfit replacing the Rising Star outfit if given the opportunity to choose which one you want the Traveler to be wearing

There's honestly nothing they can do about pre-rendered cutscenes. Asking them to pre-render two different videos for each Traveler is asking a lot.

As for in-engine sequences, they probably could - but it's possible that they took measures to enforce "default" outfits due to the censorship skins. They may have wanted to enforce characters' "identities" with the new skins the government forced them to adopt, and this wound up affecting other skins in the game, as well.

It was easier to adopt an all-or-nothing approach, and adding a "toggle" for the Traveler would make folks wonder why they can't add a toggle for other characters' skins, as well.

I think what they need to do most of all is remaster the old outfits, that way the different in model quality won’t be so jarring

I think it's only going to be implemented from here on out, because everything that came before it is "before Traveler got the outfit" in the timeline. Yeah it's kinda crappy because the quality of the model is not the best compared to new units and their new outfits but it makes sense IMO

It looks like we'll have it in future, it's just that current world quests were developed in parallel with (or before) outfit and outfit wasn't ready when they were making those cutscenes.

I think they're going do use the newer outfits going to forward regardless. They just haven't really had the chance yet.

Even though I didn't buy Yelan's, she's still been appearing in anecdotes with it. Don't even have the chance to opt in or out of it.

It's for better or worse I guess. On the plus side, even if you equip their special outfit, we don't see Jean giving instructions to the knights in her cozy beach suit, or Kirara delivering packages as a sexy puss in boots. On the other hand, yeah there's the Traveler's case.

I suppose they will only wear the outfit going forward from now, and in the AQs only. Or... maybe they won't, and it was just a one time thing to show off to Columbina.

you can't do much about that in world quests pretty sure because the dialogue scenes are loaded its like "load id\_1" which would be the base traveler model. that probably means the outfit is under a diff id
