Sooo what happened to "i have little interest in her"

i was checking some voiclines and i found this one, i remember back when arle came out i thought she wouldn't be close with sandrone considering what she said here but now we know that's not the case, is hoyo just forgetting about the voiclines they made or?

no they didnt. that *is* criminal, but the fatui dont have a sense of boundaries with the law unless it causes diplomatic upset. that precedent has been set up since signora. that fucker deserved something more humane in the eyes of any law-abiding citizen but for all intents and purposes, after trying to kill an international hero and melusine police officer, and causing the dismantlement of police technology/a sentient mek, i think sandrone had more than enough reason to endanger his life. he made a collaboration with the fatui and acted amateur with a very delicate situation that was supposed to remain under the police's radar in the first place, getting to stay alive is merciful for fatui standards

Yeah. I could try and argue that it was more of a mutual friend type thing, where they were both on better terms with other people at the table, but at that point I'm getting deep into the territory of the writers should have implied/thought of this themselves.

A generous interpretation is "little interest in her harbinger goals". But yea thats being generous, even it it does make sense somewhat. Professionally no interest, personally a different story. Arle does also like to differentiate business and personal a lot.

As a person they became friends and are really good ones. Especially how >!sad Arle was at Sandrones passing and how Sandrone enteusted her will to Arlecchino.!<

I think the fair interpretation is that Hoyo changed what they wanted their dynamic to be. But it was established Sandrone did hold tea parties earlier as well. So I think either one could be the truth really

Another way to look at it, would be that until Nod Krai, she genuinely didn't care much about Sandrone. We know she had a good opinion of Columbina and Signora, so the reason she was part of Sandrone's friend group could be just because of the two common friends.

In this case, they bonded over trying to save Columbina. The inconsistency can simply be character development.

About half of the stuff about the harbingers have been retconned or forgotten according to these voice lines from various characters. Would be fooling yourself if you don't think so.

Personally, I thought of it this way, with Arlecchino, having little interest in someone, esspecially someone at the powerlevel of harbringer, actually probably means that she either deems them harmless or trusts them to not cause issues for herself, HoH and the Tsaritsa. Cause Arlecchino's line of work is information and espionage. So I would imagine she probably keeps tabs and wants to be in the loop of everyone of note, externally or internally otherwise. And her addition of Dottore (someone Arlecchino hates even prior to the current events cause he had tried to get HoH orphans as test subjects) in the voice line kinda hints at this. Calling Sandrone the opposite of Dottore.

The other thing is that, in Arlecchino's story quest iirc, she was talking about why she doesn't clear up various bad rumors regarding herself. And she stated that she likes to use the lies in order to deceive others whom may be trying to gain counter intelligence on her. So her stating her relationship with Sandrone in such a way as to purposely put distance between them may be her way of keeping the relationship on the down low. Perhaps to keep her as an unexpected backup option for the HoH should anything happen to Arlecchino herself.

At least thats my current theory for the voiceline.

Yeah, Arlecchino seems for all intents and purposes to be the Tsaritsa's anti-Harbinger Harbinger; a failsafe against any potential loose cannons. Her stating that she has 'little interest' in Sandrone seems to come from a professional standpoint, indicating that she did not consider Sandrone to be an individual she would likely be required to take up arms against. Her being 'the other end of the extreme' to Dottore in this context actually says a lot about Sandrone's trustworthiness.

Also, I totally agree that the statement fits well with her tendency toward allowing lies and rumours to circulate, wrong-footing those who assume they have a solid understanding of her motives and allegiances.

Arle certainly seemed to have a friendly relationship with Columbina, Sandrone and Roselyne, but it wouldn't do any harm for her enemies to believe that she didn't see eye to eye with any of them.

Vague enough that they can deal with it however they want later on.

Doing things like eating, small gatherings, or whatever with your colleagues is pretty normal. It doesn’t mean you’re deeply interested in every single person there on a personal level.

Nothing—aside from some tea parties—really indicates that they were close. However, Marionette’s Notebook states that Arlecchino provided extensive materials (paraphrasing), and Sandrone gave gifts to every child at the House of the Hearth. Interpret that as you may.

They do seem to have bonded in Nod-Krai though.
