How are we supposed to know? In the quest they say it's probably because it contains something that the PO doesn't consider should be on Teyvat.

Yeah but what was it? the closest I can think of is that they didn’t want people to see a spaceship laying around
but I do think Phanes put it on the moon knowing that the traveler will find it eventually, or maybe not, maybe they really didn’t want people to find it, who knows 🤷

Most easy explanation is that they didn't want people having incentives to think they could go to space

Copied word by word from the last AQ between the 3 Moon Goddess and Columbina
Canon: *Day and night, we fulfilled our duties in the heavens... until the day that the first Descender arrived...*
Aria: *The "great ruler of the firmament."*
Columbina: *...The Heavenly Principles.*
Canon: *Is that what later generations call* ***them****? I see... But we did not reject* ***them*** *at first, nor did* ***they*** *seem harbor ill-intent towards this world.*
Canon: *We co-existed in peace.* ***They*** *were like a guest in our home.*
From Heaven and Earth description of the new outfit, just copied the part which caught my attention
\- The fine details of the lithosphere, atmosphere, or biosphere ultimately mattered little.
Reshaping terrain, adjusting the air, rebuilding an ecosystem, these were simple tasks for a **pioneer vessel meant to bear the spark of civilization**.
\- Interstellar travel was dangerous, after all. A supernova five or six light-years away could damage the **genetic vault**, and perhaps the twins as well.
**It immediately modified** the garments in the wardrobe, **upgrading them with materials** better suited for interstellar travel, and **laid them over the stasis pods**. The gesture might not amount to much, but it offered a quiet kind of comfort.
Logs that the Traveler was able read on the spaceship
Traveler: *I always assumed that this was my first time in Teyvat... I thought that Aether/Lumine and I must have been hibernating in space for centuries on end...*
Traveler: *But the logs show that our spaceship flew over the skies of Teyvat once before. A long, long time of go.*
Columbina: *Flew over? So you didn't land?*
Traveler: *No. The ship barely came to a stop before flying on again.*
Traveler: *After that, it continued traveling through space for a long time. Some of the data is corrupted, but I suspect that it kept flying for thousands of years.*
Traveler: *It was only after that that the ship made a forced landing in Nod-Krai...*

From what we know in Natlan our sibling lost his/her memories during Khaenri'ah for quite some time but we don't know what happend before that or what caused the loss of memory in the first place anyway this fact gets mentioned by the Traveler when was speaking with Columbina on the moon. But if we go by the logs left from the spaceship and if the amount of time before returning back on Teyvat sky for a second time is correct , probably Aether/Lumine descended down on the planet during the arrival or **with** the Heavenly Principles.
Why did I say **with** as a possibility? We always thought the Heavenly Principles to be a single powerful individual which arrived on Teyvat and made his home with his own rules and order with big preference over humanity compared to the other species such as like dragons but the three Moon Goddess always spoke to Columbina always in plural every time they mentioned how the first Descender came to the Teyvat and how they tried live peacufully together. At first I thought about the Shades but than I remembered they were created after to manage Teyvat's fundemantal laws which means was someone else with the Heavenly Principles in that moment of time.
Now if we read back on the new outfit description or from what I can interpret/understand, the twins had some kind advanced AI on the ship to help them to travel through space since it's able to calculate, upgrade and modify by itself while both we're hibernated and more importantly the spaceship was also trasporting a **genetic vault**. What if the identity of this advanced AI is the one known as the first Descender/The Geat Ruler of the First Firmament/the Heavenly Principles and the very **genetic vault** on the ship is how human was brought on Teyvat? Even the three Moon Goddess were shocked how the first Descender punished heavily any one who tried to defy or to challenge his authority and rules. Maybe such actions deemed to harsh even from godly beings it's because the Heavenly Principles it's just following for what he was created in the first place and simple following his tasks based on calculations.
Obviously it is just a theory but if this was the case than probably moving the spaceship on the moon wasn't just to hide it from the people of Teyvat and from the Traveler but maybe also to keep it safe for the future if the world becomes too much unstable for human life and restart all over again. If the vessel exist to bear the spark of civilization than the AI must have the same priority and it will act according to it.

The traveler new outfit contains lore that might, in theory might imply something about Phanes' origins but its iffy. It mostly about Twins' time cryo statis nap ect
