Besides this chapter is already called the teyvat chapter and devs have literally explicitly said they want genshin to continue for at least another 10 years.

Well observation is clearly wrong and just a coincidence if it's contradicting what the dev said just last year, probably why some people were reacting strongly. The Luna versions are put as version 6.X in beta so they still count them as 6.x and we're just going to 7.X next year. Also the versions or not before it really doesn't matter, they're obviously going to be counted..

As for the 6.X situation you’re also wrong. Go look at literally any genshin trailer besides the Lunas version and they’ll say “5.1, 1.2, 3.6” and so on. Lunas version are called Luna for the sole purpose of interfering with that. Snezhnaya will be labeled as 6.X. Why do you think they called it “Luna” in the first place hm?
In the travail trailer, snezhnaya is listed as act VI and they want to stay true to that

Also they said they want the IP to last 20- 40+ years. 8.2 might be the end of teyvat, or the game. But the IP could be expanded to something else. Who knows. I was thinking the same, from the looks and scale, what we know of teyvat and what could end up being all of snezhnaya, that's only half the planet, I mean, it's not impossible for the other side to be empty, think Pangea, but... I hope it's not empty, my guess they hid it under the night sky for both an anesthetic point, having the sun in view, and seeing mondstadt and liyue at night from the moon, ad to cover what's there to allow them to have options down the line

This edit is highly incorrect. [Our known map takes up to 70% of the planet easily](https://imgur.com/a/Vvg77yK), with Snezhnaya and possibly another major region for the epilogue left to go.
Inazuma is where the faint light on the dark side that's facing away from us. Natlan and Nod Krai aren't even visible here, extending half way behind the globe. So the only uncharted area is just the small strip on the right side extending slightly behind, and I'd bet that's just all water. Teyvat is a super continent.

I sized and placed it using the Sumerian isthmus, the sea that borders Fontaine, Sumeru and Liyue, as well as all the visible coastline of Liyue that is in partial shadow.. I was able to make a lot of places overlap, so if something is wrong, it is an inconsistency when they projected their in-game map over a sphere.

It's not really an inconsistency, that's just how UV mapping works when applied on a spherical object. It's the same reason why world maps are inaccurate for comparing sizes between countries/continents because of distortions that occur when projecting from a 3d plane to a 2d plane unless if you [normalize the area](https://thetruesize.com)

Yep, though if you go by the world projection Snezhnaya is absolutely monstrous. Goes from Mondstadt all the way down past Nodkrai, beating even Sumeru in size. In addition, we don't have all the edges of the continent we are on. I think all in all this continent + border ocean + poles of Teyvat probably covers 1/2 - 2/3 of the sphere. That leaves enough space for a second continent, but not for a second one the size of teyvat - that said, I can fully see us traveling to the HP's OG world, and there's a few things left to explore on the moon.
