As a beginner: columbina or neuvi?

I lack a solid hydro character so I want at least a great one. I have heard that Neuvi is quite out of the dps meta, but I also don't really have any moonsign characters to match with columbina. A solid character I have now is fischl. For dps itself I am planning for neuvi or sethos (I already have sethos). I have questions as a beginner. Ineffa or zibai are also possible tho

I would go Neuvilette. Even if he’s not meta he’s still really good, has great self sustain and is generally quite flexible in terms of team comp. He’s great with Fischl too.

I'd go for Columbina.
She is not bound to NodKrai characters and made posible all lunar reactions with any other character.
Ineffa is nice pick too

Pulling on reruns is always questionable and Neuv is old unit that is mostly wheelchaired in his best teams and often need multiple 5 stars in a team. If you can get Columbina with another Nodkrai 5 star like Ineffa or Zibai it will give you a very strong core to get your account going with comfy playstyle on low levels since none of these unit rely on their burst to do dmg and have great f2p options for weapons also offield hydro is kinda at the premium when you start your journey. However Columbina alone is not that powerful, she needs this 2nd NK teammate so if you cant guarantee geting both Columbina and another 5star this patch it may be better to just go for Zibai as the 4 stars on her banner will form a solid team with her. This is all from meta standpoint of course. If you really like Columbina just go for her you will be able to get through early game leveling and overworld without an issue :) always waifu over meta.

If you don't have another Nod Krai character for lunar reactions, Columbina isn't a large upgrade (still a 5 star and usable) afaik. Neuvilette would be a large Hydro DPS upgrade.

Basically if you have or want to have lunar reactions, Columbina will be a welcome support (I think she can be DPS too but I haven't looked too much into it). However those are additional 5 star characters you'll need in addition to Columbina. Neuvilette is a straight Hydro DPS and there are plenty of Fontaine supports for him that you may already have, Fischl is a good support for electro stuff especially with the Hexerei buffs.

In my opinion Neuvilette. As a beginner it's going to be a while until you get into the real meta teams and Neuvilette is a dps who can stand on his own and is easy to use making him pretty good for starting out.

Nuevillete for sure. Even I am pulling for him, he is a team in itself.
You can pull for Columbina when she re runs.

Neuvillette is probably the MOST flexible dps in the game. The amount of teams he can be played in is insane.

Hypercarry: Neuvillette Kazuha Xilonen Furina

Freeze: Neuvillette Escoffier Citlali Furina

Electro charge: Neuvillette Ineffa Columbina Sucrose

Hyperbloom: Neuvillette Shinobu/Raiden/Ineffa Columbina Lauma

And more. Many characters in these teams also have many substitutes.

I don't recommend Columbina if ur not gonna get Ineffa or any Nod Krai dps. Id choose Neuvilette at that point. Columbina is not BIS for older dps if she's not paired up with Ineffa

If i were you I would try to get my hands on ineffa first, then after obtaining her, save for columbina rerun at around 6.7.

Colombina and ineffa for a beginner account
The reason is simple colombina is more flexible as she has 3 lunar reactions
Fischl and colombina on field healer can work

Ineffa also a good all a rounder shield sub DpS and off field if you add her on the previous above team then just add any on fielder and it will work, add geo MC and you get some lunar crystalize, add dendro MC and you get some lunar and hyperbloom
