So there's actually 2 firnaments?

In the animated short and Natlan archon quest, we can see the real sky is red and dying. Then when skirk farther enters the eggshell that was used to seperate the world from the larger universe there's blue cosmos inside. The same one seen when dottore open the sky and the one that can be seen from the moon.

So there's a barrier cutting off the planet from the star system and then a another sheltering teyvat's artificial star system from the universe? And Alice is in charge of sustaining the actual border (red one). The shades meeting place is far outside both firnaments perhaphs a different dimension.

Then how come when splits the sky it's not red like mavuika's? And what does he exactly split if there's no border?

To your first question. That's a great question. As for the 2nd. The border is like.... a sphere that displays the fake sky. You can tell where the 'display' is broken by the weird red straight edges.

Now.. my cracked theory is.... dottore actually transported or enveloped all of us into a bubble. The battle was part of his experiment but I am unsure at which point we got into the bubble. Thus the glitch at the end.

I think it might also be a possibility that true space is not all red, perhaps just some areas of the universe are red and evil looking. While some are not, so the space behind the shattered moon and where skirk enters are red areas, but the area behind the frost moon is not.

I do wonder why the universe being corrupted by the abyss makes it look red to begin with, all the abyssal corrosion we have encountered so far has been purple.

I don't think the red is because of the abyss, becoming red is something a Sun does during it's lifespan, look it up.

I think the universe is red because during heat death the universe goes red then eventually Black so maybe same effect with abyssal death and the space around the frost moon could be distorted due to the trilune authority which protects against the abyss passively cleansing the space around it

Nah, HYV just really created a mess here.
When you sit on the Moon with Columbina - you see normal space, but Frost Moon is now inside the "fake sky". So you should see normal blue sky from Frost Moon, not a space.

Also even if Frost Moon is inside the Firmament now (and it's implied that this is why Columbina is not rejected by Teyvat anymore) - then this firmament is quite far from Teyvat, based on that short moon walk. At that distance it can't be "fake sky", because sky color is created much-much closer to surface.

The firmament range currently unknown but if it's enough to fit frost moon inside the firmament then the range of it are huge
