The true sky is actually looking into space. The red stuff is actually the fake sky. Like a broken LCD panel. The 'blue sky' with cloud you see is actually a fake sky like the underground city in Natlan.

Didn't they hint that the iridescent moon was corrupted by the abyss before it shattered. The red one looks more like it has the corruption.
DraconPern2026-01-16 16:17
I think the timeline is moons shattered during the war, then the moon marrow were corrupted on Teyvat. So the shattered moon husks were never corrupted.

>!They made a very big point of Columbina telling her to fight the Abyssal corruption inside of her and focusing on the corruption of the core before she sent her back. She was already corrupted.!<
DraconPern2026-01-16 18:52
But the AQ specifically shows Columbina not telling Sonnet about giving into the Abyss. Instead she just says, "Don't forget, I'm so glad to have a big sister like you" to Sonnet
Hallgaar2026-01-16 19:49
Addressing that would be catastrophic to the timeline; I'm pretty sure that her corruption set off a huge chain of events. Remember where we find her Moon Marrow originally? Khaenri'ah was studying it in a pocket dimension and may have infused it with Rerir. It may even be the original source of the Abyss on the planet, having come from outside of the borders of the world and sent home by Columbina.

I was thinking the same thing too!
In the Skirk's trailer the Universe outside looked corrupted by the Abyss. But when we see the Teyvat from the Moon, it looked completely normal.
BlackTemplarKNB2026-01-16 13:59
new moon was pulled into fake sky, she's a part of teyvat now
Frozen_triqs2026-01-16 17:53
Oh okay! Thanks for telling
Neospanner2026-01-16 14:01
Pretty sure the "red sky" is just distortion from the broken Firmament. Space outside of Teyvat looks pretty normal. You can just see more of the blue because Dottore opened up a much larger rift than Mavuika's punch did.
Warcrimes022026-01-16 16:13
Except for the fact that most of the sky seems to be barren of stars with one notable section still having a lot. I sorta expected space to look a lot more abyss like but maybe the lack of stars in comparison to that one patch could just be because of the abyss
Specific_Gap_9332026-01-16 16:16
Nah it was corrupted and red in skirk's trailer as well. They just changed it for some reason.
PracticingMaggotry2026-01-16 14:28
Space is vast. Our real space has both red and blue hued galaxies you can view. Remember that the Frost Moon was tossed far away, so we can assume its background must be different from the other two.
Another thing to note is that I think the false sky is not just a physical dome covering the real one but an actual dimension. Like, if you were to send a rocket ship from Teyvat, you can reach the false moon but never escape the firmament. Only dimension warping abilities like the Shades and the Trilune can open and close this fake reality. That is why when we are in space on the Frost Moon after it was dragged within Teyvat's false sky, we can only view the false space as well (notice we don't see the other two broken moons.)

Now that makes sense! Hope we get to learn more about the Space and False Sky in future Nod Krai updates
