anyone else bothered by how her name is translated
was playing through the aq and then i met the moon sisters. i play in cn, and to me i heard "sonata" when referring to the iridescent moon. although sonnet itself is derived from the italian word for little "song", i feel most would associate it with poetry, not music, no? and throughout the story, there has been strong association between music and the moon (i.e. SONG of the welkin moon)

* an aria is a musical composition for a single singer, with or without musical accompaniment. It is most often used in operas.
* a sonnet is a type of poetic form closely associated with love poems. It is derived from the Italian word *sonetto*, meaning "little song"
* a canon is a compositional form in which the melody is repeated by an imitation after a given duration
meanwhile, a sonata is a music piece that consists of 3 or 4 movements that can be for different musical instruments. wouldn't it make more sense for the iridescent moon's name to be that?
i'm not well versed in the Deep lore within genshin, so if lore enthusiasts have an explanation as to why her name would be sonnet and not sonata i would love to hear it!

Her name in Chinese isn't "Sonata", but 桑娜妲 (Sāngnàdá). And Chinese often butchers names because of the restrictve phonetics.
Also, imo, Sonnet sounds better. "Aria, Sonata and Canon" just doesn't flow of the tongue as easily.
>And so the people turned their gazes toward the sky, offering sacrifices to the three bright moons in the dark, sunless night.

>Above the night sky, the daughters of dreams and poetry kept vigilant, unceasing watch over the mortal world's every change.
Poetry works.
