Okay, I need to talk about that *thing* in Act 8 to make sure I'm not thinking too highly of Mihoyo
I'm talking about how all the big events happening in Nod Krai in the present is due to the fact that from the beginning, Columbina in the future had already traveled in the past, affecting our reality in the process before we even met her. I'm actually less impressed that the writers managed to pull this off without any confusion or plot holes and more that the story is actually filled with red herrings that want to trick you into believing all the interventions were caused by Nicole to distract you from the fact that it was always Columbina because back when Rerir awakened, we all knew Columbina was too weak to pull off a giant protective barrier so at the time we thought it was Nicole, and also we associated the yellow color with her powers.
Also btw, all of this means that the events of Act 8 were happening simultaneously with the events of previous acts all under our nose when we thought it was one continuous line of event, it was rather 2 line of events parallel to each other. I find this impressive too.

I don't know how they do it.
Thanks Barbeloth for being there at the right place and right *time* to give Bina that card reading. 10/10 Hag Trismegistus
It's a complete circle , it didn't really start anywhere because a circle doesn't have a starting point or an end point. Which means all of these events where bound to happen one way or another.
But if I had to guess what influenced the circle to be drawn in the first place then I would say it's the traveler being the variable in the story here.
People just assumed that because "hurr durr shiny gold = nicole because she has shiny gold wings in trailer" and they kept rolling with it for 3 whole patches even after we met nicole and it was evidently not her doing any of that.
There is no red herring, just genshin players
* proceeds to talk about elements that point to Nicole in the next paragraph *
Oh wait no that means sandrone is geo sorry, nicole too by the way she's geo that's what the color means
Wait does that mean columbina is going to be geo since she had golden powers in the AQ ?
Man I can't wait for La Signora to be playable all signs point to that
That was just an assumption out of the blue. Someone trying to make a connection without any information. It is literally a mistake someone made in their prediction and some of the community ran with it.
Not everyone in the community agree with all of the farfetched theories.
No one bothered to ask why Nicole had to sneak around and knock over a vase. She has never been shown to be clumsy or so aloof.
You say "farfetched" theory as if it were something absurd. But based on the logic at the time it was what made sense. And it's not just one person that came up with it, almost everyone agreed that it was Nicole (until we met her, since it was in Luna III that the "Luonnotar is Columbina" and "Columbina went back in time" theories started).
She could travel in portals because of Lunnatar. How she opened last portal in place without Lunnatar? (unless real anchor was Paimon)
Paradox meant Dottore should never exist so he randomly died from ass cancer.
They gave us rules, portals exist only because of luonnatar (hence why it was created)
And then they broke this rule cuz why not. It just means she could teleport in any point of timeline without luonnotar, cuz paradox, who cares
Luonnotar was made specifically to be a remnant of her in the "future" to make sure we had something to "pull her back" with and also for her to have a way to influence the past to help us later. It's not a paradox because "durhh we do whatever we want" but because everything in it is necessary for all of it. The "beginning" cannot exist without what for us was the "end" which in actuality had already happened.
It also ties up the whole thing about being rejected by Teyvat. Teyvat rejected Columbina because it was waiting for Goddess of the Welkin Moon. That is how I see.
Two things I don't agree with and I've listed them below.
1 - Nicole DID not spread red herrings or distract anyone. If you paid attention to what she says after we learn where Bina went, Nicole admits she notcied a change in Nod Krai's energy long time ago but the change was so subtle she didn't give it much attention and failed to realise it was Bina.
2 - Never assumed it was Nicole helping us out. The game pointed out time and time again the Witches do not help out freely. It was also stated the witchs had their hands full with something going on at the borders. This is the fault of the subset of the community coming up with the wrong theory.
You know, except the part where Alice did. Nicole also helps out freely >!in the exploration progress mini-quest!<
Nicole helping out in the exploration progress min-game? You mean the compass upgrade? If she was helping she'd have given the upgrade for free not have us do stuff for her.
Your two listed items check out tho
