I want to go back
I've been going back to Natlan to collect Ineffa's materials and using my Natlan quick-swap characters, and it feels so fluid traversing the map. Swapping into Mavuika mid-fall or using Xilonen when climbing a tall mountain makes me realize how dull the movement can feel without these skills.
I wish Mavuika (as the archon) had a passive that let you use quick-swap skills outside of Natlan. Nod-Krai has the kuuhenki transform mode and ziplines but it's not the same ;-;

i feel like even playing 30 mins a day you'd still get any previous patches done well ahead of schedule for the next one
especially with how much of a joke this new compass makes things
You'd be surprised. 30 mins a day for 6 weeks = 21 hours. AQ alone is already 6 hours. Numerous events + IT + SO + Abyss + other quests could very easily take more than 15 hours.
I just want to build my teapots. (No I will not play wonderland- I personally hate it and think it’s a waste of space)
But idk maybe there'll be more story.
Anyhow I did see a leak for the teapot house so hopefully it'll be soon. My gods I can't wait to give Bina, Arle and Sandy dedicated spaces.
Nah, it's just small. Like - there's some ancient monster in Dreadmist March waking up ... right next to a witch house who completely ignore this. It's two steps and you are in a new biome of different color.
Natlan wasn’t perfect but I much prefer the maps it gave us and the traversal mechanics.
Recorded a short clip of a flower route I took earlier, sorry all other regions but this is the peak of exploration so far [https://vimeo.com/1155103949?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci](https://vimeo.com/1155103949?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci)
That said my favourite areas were Inazuma and Sumeru desert which are both controversial at best, so it's really up to personal taste.
just make an expansion on it hoyo , mare jivari or whatever, create a new expansion never mentioned that has no reason to exist , just do it and Im an happy man
We get a damn saurian event every other patch, so they don't even let u forget it anyway, you'll be fine.
I have all natlan characters anyways so I never experienced them but from when I did try them you could tell it was clunky on purpose to get peeps to pull.
Good thing is they 4*’s have exploration and the saurians are better than just exploring without them
They are fun for something like a summer event, but I loved the grand design that the genshin Map had in sumeru, natlan or liyue.
Sumeru for the size, and it feeling like actually exploring.
Inazuma for the puzzles.
Natlan, and Nod Krai have both felt like a skinner box. No thinking just hit button for treat.
Here's a little glade with boars and a ruin with a bell. Surely it has a gameplay element. Nope a nice relaxing spot to enjoy.
Do you know that if you dig under every "cool tree with autumn leaves" you will get a chest in the end? :]
Because players nowadays are pushed to "get everything" - they need to have BiS team with BiS artifacts, explore everything on day 3, get top-1% in meaningless leaderboards and only after it they would be happy.
And that's good. I'm not playing game "find all chests", I'm exploring wast and beautiful world full of surprises.
I can still pop over to any random spot in Liyue and happily go for a stroll for as long as I want and still enjoy all the sights along the way.
I liked Inazuma, it was new to visit some islands back then.
And Watatsumi island is one of my favourite spots.
Yes, I didn't pull any Natlan characters how do you know?
And I actually do like Nod-Krai exploration. Feels pretty fluid.
For me This entire region feels like mondstad but with less colors. Just dull areas in Grey and white
Just insane. Map srinkflation
Continuously jumping in and out of Saurians gets tiring very fast
Why do I need to have a team of Chasca, Mavuika, Xilonen and Kinich for exploration to feel bearable? JUST GIVE US MOUNTS, LET US FLY, GIVE US ANY KIND OF VEHICLE, ANYTHING.
God forbid you wanna go to any islands, better dust off that Furina to walk on water, or prepare to icebridge/swim your ass over to that point to unlock the waypoint only to manually go there ever again.
The fact that they have to give us waypoints to every new area cause they KNOW walking places is annoying as fuck should be very telling.
I remember everyone hated Inazuma, because their puzzles were harder, but it was a welcome change from the obvious ones we had before. Thankfully, I skipped a good portion of Sumeru, and when I came back, they had underground maps already. So I liked the desert exploration.
Fontaine was really cool, good balance of puzzles and I enjoyed swimming. Natlan was weird at first, but I got used fast, and I like that you don't actually need the characters for exploration. I don't think there is any zone in this game I didn't like to explore.
I enjoyed 1.0 and 2.0 but Sumeru was not fun. It had the best AQ and side quests but just getting around the map wasn't it for me.
**If you were forced to use the dinosaurs** *(instead of e.g., Mavuika or Chasca)*, exploration in Natlan felt endlessly clunky and slow. I feel like Natlan had the least fun riddles as well (find nearest dinosaur, do what ever the dinosaur does, get out of dinosaur), and all the vertical traversal (again, without the corresponding premium characters) was incredibly exhausting. I have to say, more than once I got a very strong suspicion, that the poor QoL and clunkiness of dinosaurs was *intended* to make corresponding premium characters "more attractive".
It didn't really help that the generic enemies we had to farm were the cute dinosaurs that we had to bond with in essentially all world quests or the tribes that fought on our side during the Abyss invasion.
Nod Krai does seem a tad colorless in comparison, but I am honestly glad that I do not feel forced into playing overly specific traversal squads anymore, and that I do not have to use the clunky dinosaurs to solve puzzles or get from A to B.
I suppose you explore everything? I usually take a general look around as the game progresses, but I don't explore everything at once. Sometimes I go back to previous nations and find places I hadn't seen before.
But I understand if you're talking about how it was more fun adventuring through Natlan because of the mobility of the Natlan characters. At least Nodkrai wasn't a huge desert or those giant craters at the entrance to the Chasm because that was quite difficult to traverse.
Uuugh
But Nodkrai is a bit of a "filler" patch. It was supposed to be ricchi in lore but not huge. So.. yeah..
Nod krai is visual good in map but I feel the map little bit smaller maybe because, so many teleport waypoint. I feel nod krai chest drop between 2 or most of the time 3, maybe we feel the nod krai smaller because of compass.
Natlan has C tier story and S tier exploration.
Choose your poison.
That's the main issue with Natlan and why it seems to split people. It's exploration feels AMAZING if you have the characters. But without them, you're left with saurians, who feel SO much less smoother to explore with to the point that it feels like the enviroment is built to work against you. You need both Horizontal and Vertical mobility characters, and the one they give you for free isn't great at either.
Sometimes it feels like a puzzle, like that saurian cant fly too high so you need to figure your own way out of the box lol
Or the feeling when you in the top of each island in ochkanatlan, and didnt find waypoints so you just going more further instead going back
I really remember that. Because at that time i dont even have kachina (new player, stuck at liyue archon quest)
Way more fun imo
I also miss the underwater exploration we had in Fontaine too! It's weird that they added such a major new mechanic that people were asking for, and then seemingly abandoned it in subsequent regions! It's like, did our characters just suddenly forget that we can breathe underwater? There's SO MUCH water in Nod-Krai, too!
