(Spoilers)Questions about nod krai act 7 and 8
I just finished the latest archon quest and have some questions regarding them..
1)What is it that the dottore actually wanted from the traveller? He kept trying to persuade traveller to join him but he never clearly states what he wants him for.
2)What was the reason that columbina appeared in nod krai 500 years ago. Earlier nicole theorised that it happened because the frost moon still had a faint connection to teyvat after the moon goddesses died because of which columbina got her birth but after the newest AQ I'm not so sure. The three goddesses are still "alive" and this brings me to my next question.
3) Moon marrows are formed when a moon goddess dies. But the goddesses were imprisoned in the moon gate. When columbina took their divinity/authority their bodies started to deteriorate in that space. If the goddesses were still alive. How did the marrows form?
4)Are the moons a separate entity from the moon goddesses? Or they are connected to each other? If a moon is destroyed does the goddess associated to it also die? If yes how are the 3 goddesses not dead and how were the marrows formed?
5) I was under the impression that the moon marrows contained the powers of the moon goddesses after their death. Dottore collected them and made a new one using which he got access to the tri-lunar authority. However in the space in the moongate columbina also got the tri-lunar authority from the three moon goddesses. How? It doesn't make sense to me. So when columbina came back to teyvat there were 2 Tri-lunar authorities present in teyvat?? How come the authority is both with the goddesses and with the marrows.
6) Wasn't columbina already born with the frostmoon authority? After she took the frostmoon authority of canon does she now have double the authority or something? Like if she had 100 frostmoon authority then after taking from canon it's 200 now?(Stupid question I know)
7) I didn't quite understand columbina's plan. So she used a small part of her soul to make luonnotar which served as an achor for her in teyvat. This connection allowed her to go in different points of time into teyvat from the moongate. Then after taking the Tri-lunar authority from the goddesses she sacrifices her physical body and showers the kuuvahki on nod krai and her soul stays in the moongate to guide the 'future' columbina and keep the time loop going. Then she hides the trilunar authority in the frostmoon somehow(even though the goddesses say that their authority will only work in the space in the moongate and not outside, yet she was able to use it in the dottore fight?).
How was she able to come back into teyvat again?
8)What was the purpose of the world formula that sandrone was trying to use. It's original purpose was to calculate the fate of the world but how did the modified version sandrone made help in getting back columbina?
9)What was the reason that sandrone's scan showed 3 moons even though the goddesses are supposed to be dead? Is it because they're still alive in the moongate?If so then if sandrone were to scan again now(if she were alive) would she detect only one? Because the goddesses are dead now?
10)What was the purpose of dottore opening up the fake sky? Just for hype and aura?
11)In skirk's animated short we can see the fake sky and it appears quite close to teyvat. Even during the dottore bossfight we are high up in the clouds and the false sky appears not that much higher. But when we go with columbina to the frostmoon and look at teyvat the fake sky is totally huge and extends far beyond the circumference of the atmosphere. Even when dottore first slices up the sky it appears to be close. I can't make sense of this.
12) Similar question to the one above. When dottore opens up the sky and we see the outeespace it appears to be pretty normal. Nothing like the reddish type of space we saw when mavuika opened it up or in skirk's animated teaser. Why?

4 - That was explained in the AQ. The goddess do die, they just happened to be in a special jail that stops them from aging and dying until they leave it.
2) The simplest explanation is Columbina birthed herself. She formed out of her own power. Her existence is a Paradox.
3) They left the moon prison and lived their life on Teyvat. To put it simply, the moon marrow is essentially a Gnosis and the Moon Authority is essentially the elemental throne.
4) The moons are their bodies and their human forms are avatars.
9) the three moons was Columbina with the trilune authority. the 4th moon was Dottore's false moon. The reason for the confusion was "What actually makes a moon"
Yep, standard explanation when time travel is used - paradox. There's no logical way to explain time travel, it destroy any logic that we know. So we could only rely on what writer wanted to achieve with it without asking how.
2) The goddesses are dead in present Teyvat though, based on your other questions it seems you missed the point that Columbina talking to the 3 moon goddesses happens at the point in time where the moon's reflection was created
3) They are imprisoned *before* the war of funerary flame. They were still going to die at some point after being imprisoned
4) Again that was the far past, before the moons were destroyed, which would kill them
5) I'm not sure but I feel like the timeline only makes sense if their human bodies only hold part of the power, and the other part is what forms the marrows

7) I think that in the same way that Luonnotar allowed her to momentarily leave the moon's reflection, her "body" being in Teyvat and her soul being in the reflection creates a much stronger connection. Add to that the trilunar power and you got a brand new Columbina (not sure about the "hiding the authority in the moon" worked out, like you said)
8) I think it lets them pinpoint Columbina's location, in this case she's a "variable" from outside the world
9) Once she scans 4 moons she realizes that the scan doesn't care if they are dead or alive. The marrows themselves were being count as moons

11) I'd maybe guess that the false sky doesn't conform to conventional physics. Like, an opening could be made even if you're not "near" it. Kinda like portals
12) I looked back at scenes of the false sky, and it seems like the red stuff is some "dust" at the center of the broken moon pieces, and not the whole background. Maybe moon blood or something
btw don't take all the answers as fact, there are probably things I misunderstood as well
**Update**: I rewatched some of the quest and got a better idea of the order of events
Basically: Nibelung imprisons the moons -> Columbina visits the moon's reflection in the present and travels all the way back to the beginning of its existence -> Gets the trilunar authority -> sends moon goddesses as mortals to Teyvat (and they die) -> the Iridescent and Eternal moons crumble, but the Frostmoon persists since Columbina's soul (aka her divinity) persists -> the Frostmoon persists to the future beyond the firmament -> in the present, Sandrone's formula locates Columbina in the Frostmoon and we bring it down, connecting her her soul and body
But I'm also a bit confused why the other 2 marrows still have the moon's authority. Unless, like I said before, the moon and the goddess each contain part of it. It's mentioned at some point that marrows are like gnosis, and like a gnosis, the archon still has power even if they lose it
2 - The three moon goddesses are not alive in the future. Because Bina is a moon goddess she was able to talk back to the beginning of time when the moons were created. The prison is hard to explain but it essentially allowed Bina to walk through any point in time. So she went to the start and found the three sisters. Think of it like this. You are half way up a hill. If you go up you'll go to tomorrow. And if you walk down you'll go to yesterday. That is what happened.
3 - This is harder to explain but imagine these as fragments of their powers left behind after they died.
4 - Yes and no. The moons are like their bodies. If the moon is destroyed the goddesses will die. The prison was a special kind that trapped the goddesses such that they were imprisoned in both space and time.
5 - From no.3 if you assume the marrows have a fragment of their powers and the artificial marrow was created using Kuvaki you could see how Dottore manged to get access to some of the powers the goddesses have. What is important here is not their powers but their authority, their ability to manipualte the fundemental laws of teyvat. Through these Dottore could do this. Now Bina was given all of the divine authorities by the moon goddesses. But remnant of their powers and authority remained in the moon marrows.
6 - She was born twice. First as the Frost Moon goddess, but after she died inside the prison, the gang used the world formula along with Nicoles and Lunator to bring her back but this time as the Trilune goddess. I like to think of it as she was born twice.
7 - She wasn't about to free herself on her own. She needed Sandrone's world formula and then everyones help and Lunator acting as an anchor. Go with this one as there are a lot of things going on here and analysing it too much is not ideal. While the three moon goddesses couldn't do anything from inside the prison Columbina was able to travel through time and also interact with the past. So she always had a way to interact with the world.
8 - To calculate where Columbina's soul was inside the prison. Columbina's connection was not completely cut off while she was in the prison. They needed to know trace it and then pull her through.
9 - The scan detected the moons even though the goddesses were dead because the marrows existed.

11 - The fake sky was trying to hide Teyvat from the rest of the universe. Which likely hints to future Genshin stories after we're done on Teyvat. It covers the planet but Columbina altered it so the new moon is now able to shine upon the world. You still cannot see the broken moon which could be because Columbina moved it all or because part of it is still active. We don't really know yet. There are also other contradictions as you've mentioned from Skirks trailer.
12 - We were always told the Abyss was attacking Teyvat. But we now know the PO was afraid of something or someone. It could be that there is someone that controls the abyss or some powerful abyssal creature that wants to devour light. This fear is also why the PO did not allow any advanced civilisations learning about the secret laws of the world. Since once humans learn of them they'll try and manipulate them... See what Dottore did. Could spill disaster for the planet.

3. Remember time flows backwards in the moons reflection. Cannon last wish was for columbina, using the moon power, to send the 3 moon sister to the real world. By doing so she didn't return the 3 moon sister to **COLUMBINA future/present**, rather **their** past. A moon goddess cannot live without her moon, thus Aria and Sonnet die no matter what, forming their moon core. Thats why, if we go into earlier acts of Nod krai when we went to retrieve the iridescent moon marow, Sonnet, or the residual conciseness of sonnet/her moon corroded by the abyss, ends off with ALMOST saying columbinas full name..."hypo...", because she met her in the moons reflection!
4. Each moon has an Avatar (Moon goddess), a moon goddess cannot live without her moon. The moon marrow forms when that goddess died. My answer to the previous one should explain they did in fact die. Cannon was the only one who didn't die immediately i believe, but the frost moon being enclosed far away and most likely the depression she faced from losing her sisters most likely caused her to dwindle at a faster rate. 5. Im not exactly sure what ur asking here? Dottore didnt collect ALL the moon marrow, only 2, without columbina he did not have the frost moon authority to activate tri lunar authority. Rather he made an artifact moon marrow that would act as a replacement to still activate tri lunar authority. For columbina, she gain the tri lunar authority through the moon goddess transferring their powers to her in the MOON REFLECTION realm before releasing them to the real world where they meet the inevitable doom of dying still. I'm GUESSING the same laws still applied that when a goddess no longer has their moon, the moon marrow will regardless appear still. I think [MiniMages](https://www.reddit.com/user/MiniMages/) explained it better.

7. While in the moon reflection, columbina knows that if she returns without a power greater than dottore she only falls into the enemy’s hand, failing. She suspects the answer lies within the moon reflection realm, to make sure her message is able to convey through time when she finds her answer without dottore suspecting, she creates lunnoator. Something a part of her soul, allowing her to be connected to the present/future and past. Fast forward she gains the tri lunar authority, but the moon goddess state columbina can’t leave this realm ALIVE. So in a way she finds a loophole that still follow the rules of this prison, she will leave her soul in the moons reflection, her body will leave the moons reflection becoming the kuvaachi that’s pours nod Krai (her “death”), while the power of tri lunar authority will be hidden on the frost moon, dormant until she can be reunite with her body, soul, and power. How did she hide this power? Theirs no on screen answer to confirm the details, but she fulfils finding a greater power to fight against dottore.
8. Sandrone scanning the sky was meant to use to identify columbina whereabouts (Is she alive or dead). Columbina was always part of the world formula equation, if u recall what sandrone said, columbina is their only hope at defeating dottore. Its not an argument or a question, they NEED her.
9. From what I understood, Sandrone scan could not identify a living vs dead moon. Her scan was picking up on moon marrows, that's why the number suddenly increased to 4. So she removed the term "moon marrow" in her scan. The number went back 3, from what I understood was that the scan was picking up the 3 ways columbina split herself (aka her authority which what Sandrone was trying to find to see if she was alive, Sandrone was most likley trying to intially find an answer of 1 if she was alive based on **previous** knowlodge, and 0 if she was dead.) Soul (1), tri lunar authourity power in the frost moon (2), and her body, the kuuvachi (3) is what is being picked up from the scan! Thats why Sandrone says "Columbina is not ONLY alive, but exists in a form that is unimaginable to us"
