Pulling Columbina solely for abyss shilling. No other Lunar Reaction characters owned. Thoughts?

I am heavily considering pulling for Columbina since she enables lunar reactions for any team. Abyss has been very tough for me recently, and I can still 36\*, but I'm thinking about the comfort part of it.

I own characters that could theoretically benefit from it. Navia, Nahida, Neuvilette, Yae Miko, EM Raiden, Alhaitham, etc...

I thought that if I HAD to pull a nod krai unit, it should be the most "universal" one, so I can slot her in a team that really need lunar reactions.

However I know (or at least think) that Columbina isn't designed around being that sort of character, and is instead a universal support for already existing lunar reaction teams.

So what do you guys think? Is it worth it?

I personally think Ineffa is the better pick if you lack other NK 5* characters. She's less reliant on having other sources of Lunar damage on the team.

Pulling a character just for endgame isn't worth it. Lunar will be dropped when we get to 7.x and we're almost halfway through this region.

Pull characters you like or like playing.

I'd get Ineffa instead if you really feel like you need a lunar character, she is pretty self-sufficient as opposed to Columbina. Without any lunar partners, Columbina will also lose most of her usefulness on your account once the lunar shilling is over.

But keep in mind, you'd be spending up to 180 pulls just to make sure you don't miss out on, what, 200 primos every month? Doesn't seem worth it to me lol. It would take you 12 years to make a return on investment, just to put it into perspective. It's better to just pull characters you actually like.

She's not terrible. Right now she shines with other NK characters. But next banner we're getting a new Geo character which is expected to make most of Lunar Crystalise.

She also enables all Luna reactions on her own so she's not a bad choice.

I tried Columbina with no Nod Krai characters. Even if it did show Lunar reactions the damage was terrible. Just having a Nod Krai character with no Columbina is a lot better that not having them. The stream gave us false hope that we don't need that, but in reality it sucks if you don't have actual Nod Krai characters.

Out of the 3 lunar reactions here's my opinion:

- lunar bloom: since it doesn't do anything dmg only columbina can make use of it, and it's chopped without lauma.
- lunar crystallize: works very well with Navia. I used solo columbina with navia+ZL this abyss and got 36*
- lunar charge: best out of the 3. Many EC characters exist to make good use of it. Has many dmg instances too. Also true that solo ineffa would be better than solo columbina here.

Synergistic characters exist for sure but with older characters you get less dmg instances of lunar reactions (overall dmg is still fine) so I've found it kinda frustrating...up to u how serious you are about the "meta".

by herself, columbina really doesn't do much for lunar reactions, aside from enable them. she really only benefits the lunar carries by herself. would be much better off getting lauma and/or ineffa.

if you don't actually want her, I would skip.

If you can't get 36 stars without her I bet you could still easily get 33 stars (you have a massive 40% more time in F12) which is a loss of 100 primos per month. It will cost you way more than that to pull her, so you'd end up with more primos if you skipped her than if you pulled in order to full clear the abyss.

100 primos a month is 1200 primos a year, not even a 10 pull. But you'd have more fun by owning characters you enjoy as opposed to characters you only pulled to get the extra 1200 primos.

You have a good point. I do like columbina as a character, I think she's pretty and looks interesting to play too. What throws me off is the need for other nod krai units.

I have been consistently full clearing abyss, though. 36\* this reset and the one before it without nod krai units.

Maybe I'll just wait and see if I get escoffier for my skirk instead...
