I saw the saving icon. People said I can just quit but there is no option to.

It just put me right back into another story scene. No button presses can get me out of it. Do I really have to close the game down just to get out of the story so I can coop with friends when they get on?

On Playstation you close the application, same as PC. Xbox is likely the same but I don't have one so I can't confirm.

doesn't fix OP's problem though. He wants to do coop. Quitting just means he can't play anymore. When he reenters the game he will be locked in a cutscene again until it's over.

Just tried this. Had control of a character. Quit game. Got back on and it went straight into the story scene again with Sandrone and Arlecchino.

not quit the game go to the top left side and leave using the leave button. It'll say something like "you might lose your progress" but you should be able to ignore that. After that you're out of the story until you decide to come back. I don't remember if you can do co-op when you're out but I don't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to

I should have been more clear. I rushed that last response.

First time. Saving icon appears. Goes straight into another cutscene. No option to quit. Have to force close the game. Open the game again. Outside of the domain. I can coop, do dailies or abyss.

Second time. Got control of >!Columbina. Pressed pause, exited out of the story domain. Came back, Had to rewatch Columbina and Sandrone eating snacks again. About an 8 minute scene.!<

Third time. >!Wanderer saves traveler. Saving icon appears. Scene with Traveler, Wanderer and Albedo. Goes right into another scene with Arlecchino and Sandrone talking and then Traveler reunites with Paimon. Unsure of how much longer this scene will go (It's about 11 minutes long) I force close the game. When I load up the game, I am not out of the domain, it puts me right back into the cutscene with Traveler reuniting with Paimon. I was forced to finish that scene instead of putting me outside of the story domain like it did the first time.!<

Fourth time. >!Columbina is talking to Rerir. After they are done and I have control of Columbina again. I press pause and exit out of the story domain. When I return, I have to redo the conversation with Columbina and Rerir.!<

It's very inconsistent.

I did think it was kind of silly that they give the little saving icon and then there's ANOTHER ten minutes of cutscene dialogue like. lmao.

You can press Esc when you have control of character.

Or just Alt+F4 it.

yes, you will have to repeat some cutscenes if you exit when you have control.

what they meant is you can kill the game with alt f4 or switching off the ps5 and it will return to here.

If you actually wanted to return to the overworld to do your dailies, you have to wait till you have control of your character.

If you want to coop, you can have a friend request to join your world and you will exit the story.

yes, it's really inconvenient that they don't let us just log off as usual when stuck inside an archon quest

they could at least put a "Exit archon quest" option in the dialogue settings (same place where you can change volume mid-dialogue)
