Not a "solid" basis but this ending screen seems more than just a glitch or without meaning, and since it's a relatively new quest, I still have not found posts nor comments talking about this. To add to this, Nicole mentions that nothing has happened, "...or, not yet, anyway." And given that TOO MANY wrong things happened almost at once, we got one maniac making himself a god attempting to rule above all included Asmoday and the shades, the return of the 3 primordial moon powers, restrictions lifted on the traveler and a world equation and extrapolations, almost sounds like a Simulated Universe and it's equations (Star Rail reference heh). Nicole also mentions "The disruption caused by this disaster has made Teyvat easier to detect from the outside universe." (sounds a lot like Amphoreous, and travelers also like another band of terra forming species or similar, like the Trailblazers) and "As for me, I agree with Hat Guy's perspective. This is a time when many new variables are emerging and the situation is changing constantly... plus l, most of this change is for the worst."

I wouldn't believe the current ruler of the planet will just stay dormant, or inactive. I still haven't done other world and character quests but from the little I've read so far it seems to be linking other nations lore and all linked to descenders and Asmoday/Phanes.
