The rebellion failed, and as punishment, the Angel race got cursed: if they ever broke the commandment to universally love everyone by falling in love with an individual, they would transform into a Seelie. We know of like only 4 exceptions, but we know hundreds of seelies. That means that literally almost every single member of the entire race has fallen in love, most likely with a human. It's love forbidden by Celestia, but one that canonically happens very often
