Sandrone was such a pleasant surprise in Nod Krai, did not expect her to become one of my favorite characters in the entire game after the 6.3 Archon Quest
She has been very entertaining since her first moments of screentime, but she also became one of the most compelling characters in the game throughout Nod Krai.
Watching her slowly become part of the friend group despite constantly saying she doesn't care. Always mentioning how shes not the type to self sacrifice nor does she understand why people want to save the world. She has a note about Signora being dead in her diary and she was probably afraid of losing anyone else. We see many times just how sad she was at the thought of losing Columbina, while also expressing worry over the Traveler after Dottore captured them. For Sandrone, she self sacrificed not to save herself or the world, but to save the people she cared about.
But her plan and sacrifice was also a brilliant way to get Dottore to lower his guard, he believed Sandrone to be one of the very few capable of thwarting his plans. Once she was out of the picture he thought he won, only to have been outsmarted with her tactic with Pulonia. She used herself as bait should she have to do so. Also has her core intact too and its on the way to Fontaine to "get her affairs in order"
The connection to the Narzissenkreuz Ordo Word Quest does wonders to flesh out her ideals and way of viewing the world. The conversation she had with Traveler about Alain and Rene was such a great scene to dive into her mindset. I feel like the devs really wanted that World Quest to be voiced given how much they referenced it here
She's also a tsundere done to perfection imo, constantly complaining about people (most notably Columbina) but always going out of her way to accommodate them. She may be a machine, but shes one of the most human characters in the game.

I like her, man. Where did they take her?
To me, following an overused trope to perfection without deviation is not really inspiring. It is "playing it safe" if anything, as it is a thousand times tried and tested character progression that is proven to work for a lot of people.
The "machine but human" thing is also not sold on me when the person is machine only in title and with no real consequence.
If people dont like the archetype or expected more then thats fine too, I just don't see any problem with them using it, especially when its executed well
Sandrone outside that trope doesn't seem to be achieving anything or have anything interesting going on about her character. She is mostly there to have wholesome conversations with Bina, lose to Rerir/Dottore to raise stakes and dump some Narzissenkreuz lore out of nowhere.
Being the crucial piece in thwarting Dottores plans? Being the crucial piece to bring Columbina back? Being the crucial piece in keeping many of the harbingers on good terms with her tea parties?
You can make that argument about so many characters in almost every region. Yet they are fine in those roles as well. Just seems like you dont get why people like Sandy when you yourself dont
I think you need to re read the Archon quest again lol
Without her formula Dottore just wins
You can take any interesting character and give them the Formula™ that is crucial for plot development. This doesn't say anything about their character or quality of writing.
It is literally a "bring Columbina back item" that is loosely tied to existing lore with no prior mention or any merit. In that regard it is very similar to Nefer's chess box.
She ultimately ends up sacrificing herself and making Dottore look badder and stakes higher. That is her reason of existence in that story segment.
What even is the point of this conversation? You dont like her and other people do, thats what im taking from this exchange
Even if she didn't come up with the formula, you could say that she is achieving things like running an organization, creating machines including Katheryne, "holding back" Rerir's assault, etc. In the end none of these things are properly explored. What *is* explored and given screentime are the plot items that I mentioned.
I am assuming that you think Nefer is also a very resourceful character because she is treated by everyone else as such and also received a crucial artifact by powers that be (because they also treat her as resourceful). For me that just doesn't work, sorry.
It doesn’t just take Genius. It needs someone who understood both Alain and Rene. Someone who who has connection to them.
We literally have 2 sections with her trying to solve it. Your point would only make sense if she did it off screen. But she didn’t. She actually thought it over, stressed it over and needed Albedo(alchemical genius) to help her come to the right answer.
Her parallels to Alain and Rene are also important. With her claiming to not wanting to save the world. But still doing it because of her companions is exactly reference to Alain’s mentality of “There is nothing wrong with trying to save the world for selfish reasons”. With her selfish reason is wanting to Lee her friends save.
Sandrone is a trope of tsundere yes.
But this trope is not leading factor of her character. It’s mere one part of her personality.
I also don't really like how her just recently ordering to capture and dismantle Ineffa at the end of Natlan was completely dropped for the sake of not making her unlikable to the audience.
Maybe Aino can't do it? Or she has to go to Fontaine to fix her
Hat Guy trusted Traveler, Traveler trusted Sandrone, she wasn't going to betray that trust
He was really god tier on this archon quest
And yes, I'm a former hater since he seemed to get off scoff-free and did dick-all for the longest time but I digress, he is much better now.
I also doubt that Aino could fix her or Pulonia. All of Ainos creations function with Kuuvahki. Sandrone being made by Alan probably somehow works using Ousia and Pneuma or whatever the fontaine energies were.
..and even if Aino could I bet Sandrone would not allow herself to be repaired by just anyone. I really think she has already made spares for herself and Pulonia. I don't think the research institute has any great artificers capable of replicating Alans work.
Hat Guy also said she only ever really acknowledges her own skills, so that might be playing a part in the decision
besides, her specialty is more brains than brawn.
her body is probably 100% Alain work so she must have felt sentimental about changing it
i guess her new body is gonna be her own work and that it gonna have actual weaponry in it
100%. She was made in the image of Mary-Ann. If she changed her body, the world forget about them.
Bringing leaks to a story discussion is genuinely one of the corniest and goofiest things I've seen people start to do. Like... What are you discussing when you already willingly spoiled yourself and now you also want to spoil our literal discussion too? Haha
Also... Uh... MaryAnnLyrisAnn are hanging around Fontaine, I think maybe they'll dream to another Ann for Sandrone?
So, perhaps fixing Sandrone still needs the minds, and more importantly, the **resources** of Fontainian scientists.
i fucking wouldnt want that too if i was sandrone lol
also its the fatuis job you wouldnt be able to put aino on that only a very trusted insider source would be allowed to put hands on her
Probably not as easily as you might think. There's a sidequest (Problem-Sorting Robot) where one of her cube mechs ended up with a meka core, and Aino didn't really fully understand how it worked. I think Sandrone would be even more complex than a regular meka.
https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Problem-Sorting_Robot
>Aino: The problem is, this new core is really advanced. I don't even understand half of its functions...
But Fontaine is in the same league as TSMC or ASML—top-tier, cutting-edge technology. If Aino were accepted there as a student, she’d have the environment and mentorship to develop fast, potentially into a lead scientist. For now though, her experience is still mostly in the DIY space.
Like in the tea party with Traveler and Paimon: "Im no longer in the mood to have tea, but have some if you want or it will go cold and be wasted. Oh and I dont have any coasters so use this book instead"
I really really hope we get her playable, I need that story quest about how she was made and why she is the way she is
“There’s no need to worry about us. My combat assessment shows a 100% chance of survival.”
Which would be such a legendary moment if it were a voice line in an Archon Quest
4 French kids will always be famous.
It's really not that hard to allow for resources to be downloaded just for the quest and then deleted. They have the ways to do it, but honestly the writing in World Quests is so good partly cause they don't need to care about voiceover.
Also they probably don't wanna spend so much money on voice actors x4, which they can 100% afford cause this game makes obscene amounts of money, but oh welp.
Fontaine's AQ was probably the most detached the AQ was from its WQs. With the devs statement on version development time, work on Nod Krai can be estimated to start around Fontaine.
The WQs and their lore delivery became a lot more " in your face" in Natlan. Compared to lets say, finding Annapausis or even realising that 3 separate sub region WQs lead to the Narzissenkreuz Ordo Questline, the Little One Chronicles began as soon as one entered Natlan, Ochkan and Tollan version of the quests Auto Starting once you entered said sub regions made kickstarting thos quests a lot more easier. >!Bona and Coco assisting you in the night Kingdom in Act 5 being the 1st time a character introduced in a main WQ had a role in the AQ!<, and Ineffa's quest being a proper look into Dragon Civilization for people who missed all that(Contrast this to 4.x, where the additional AQ took place in *Sumeru*), it's quite evident that the devs atleast took baby steps to address the lore delivery problem
And then Nod Krai itself being a love letter to the Ordo, with some love thrown to Remuria. even >!Xiuhcoatl!< gets a cool reference if you've completed Natlan's quests
Human Durin needed Body(Bakunawa Flesh), Soul(Mini-Durin), Authority(Dragon Durin's Heart) and an Alchemical Array drawn all over Mondstadt.
Columbina's Formula was super complex and Sandrone needed Albedo's advice to make it. She use the World Formula inspired by the Tree Model, using part of Irminsul(Wanderer's Core) to even begin to generate it. It's super complex and she couldn't even begin to draw it up herself, as it's literally recreating/reviving a dead Goddess. It had to retransform Kuuvahki into flesh, pull back a trapped soul and unsealing an Authority.
They said lovers in Fotaine poem is together even after death. Even if flesh decayed, bone crushed, the marrow is still protect the others.
We might get a Wanderer situation where she forgets things temporarily though
Well, I welcome another tear-jerking story.
If she come back all fine and dandy then that’ll feel kind of lame tbh
Like Rene and Carter became Narzissenkreuz and Caterpillar, or Lyris and Mary-Ann Guillotine become Mary-Ann and Ann. None of them is the same as before, that the price.
I was very glad to be proven wrong; she is a wonderful character who has become one of my absolute favourites.
I'm personally saving again for them but we'll see who else drops before they come to us 🤷♀️
Looks like it’ll be back to Fontaine in a couple of patches to see what her back plan is. My guess, is that she will be one of the Harbingers accompanying Traveler when it comes time to go to Sneznahya.
Just like her fate in this patch was sadly predictable, I look forward to her very likely return.
I also relate to being a temperamental robotics engineer who gets lost in their work.
Unrelated, she has an oddly heroic motif when Pulpnia gets into action.
I DREAD for her redisign when they resurrect her (I leave it almost guaranteed). I wish they didn't touch anything. We need female models with long skirts, her personality is okay... even with her being in the fatui would be nice, not everyone needs to be bleached hard.
Plus, it would be funny just to see her compete with Childe if they give us a Snez tour in 7.0 lol
I like to think that Signora's death really got to her. To the point where she distracts herself in her research for a very long time. It would be the first major death in her life since Alain's.
And while I'm not sure how much I'm reading to this, after Columbina left the Fatui, she stops logging the date and weather in her entries.
It sucks that she didn't get to say goodbye to either one.
On the bright side, it was really sweet to learn that Columbina was watching after Sandrone in spirit during Alain's funeral.
The writers really didn't do much justice to >!Sandrone's sacrifice!< here. Really wish they fleshed this small part of the main AQ better. Other than that, everything else was pretty good.
Maybe she'll become playable one day...
I skipped dialogue of this quest since i m too lazy to read and i was running for primo. I prefer voiced line. Sad this quest is not voiced seeing her importance in the story. Vive Le France !
