It did happen a bit to Sumeru Paimon though. During the festival loop during the AQ, the traveler and Paimon came up with the plan to have Paimon stay in the city while they traveled outside to see what happens, and Paimon basically saw the traveler disappear into thin air as they walk out, leaving her worried sick.
