How to ruin 10/10 story with single decision
You kill Sandone who sacrificed for Traveler to buy time - ok.
Then you make epic battle - ok
Scene where Columbina looks at dead body of Sandrone - ok
In this moment you as a person are strugling emotionaly, can someone confirm she is really dead? Can we help her? Is it really over? We have Moon Goddess, we have Genius inventor Aino. What is the next scene? Are we crying?
And we got timeskip few days - ok
WE GET A SCENE OF WAKING UP, EATING, PAIMON BURPING.
At this point you want to know what happened as soon as possible right? Traveler looks fine just tired, it looks like Sandrone is all right or in coma otherwise traveler would be quite down that someone sacrificed for him right? So you as a player only care about this specific info.
Then a scene with League, and then another with Nicole, still no info about Sandrone.
So you are stressed with another scene where Wanderer with Arle finaly confirm to you that she is dead. You are shocked as a player. One of the best characters is killed and there is NO PROPER FAREWELL SCENES!! NO CHARACTER REACTIONS!!! NOTHING!! Just a simple one sentence that Columbina stayed with her body few days!? SORRY WHAT?? You are building whole story with lovely character interactions and now you suddenly don't bother to let me properly mourn character who sacrificed for me?
Then Paimon goes ooooo you gonna finaly learn about your ship! I DON'T CARE ABOUT SHIP RIGHT NOW! Best girl just died and story does not show anything related to that! Such important event took place entirely off screen!! And now I am disconnected from the story.
This is one of the biggest storytelling failures of entire time.
If you kill character who died for us you either let us say goodbye to it by properly establishing its death with some scenes or make some kind of massive foreshadowing that this character will be back in future to not makes us worry. Here Sandrone was treated like not important unneeded character. Nobody was shown to care for her death so that player would resonate. WHY?! You had time to include some scenes with random NPCs about some bullshit but character reactions to Sandrone death?
This destroyed the rest of the story for me. Up until timeskip it was 10/10.
After Sandrone death 3/10 max.

And then people wonder what else would be required to actively get people to enjoy something they dislike so intensely that they must find a flaw anywhere
Hell, Columbina got in and went to her as soon as she could just to hug her lifeless husk
Moreover, on her Friendship 4 dialogue, she literally express she >!actively tried to bring her back from the dead with her new powers and failed!<
And you have the entire dialogue with Arlecchino at the port of her belongings remaining at the House of the Hearth, except her diary that she wanted you to have and not Columbina
Like what else could they actively show on your screen to confirm you that she is completely and utterly irreversively dead until we return to Fontaine
Next scene Paimon burping. 10/10 storytelling.
10/10 reading comprehension
You: I will ignore that
And I still made that goal, because the facts that she is a puppet, and there WASN'T an emotional farewell for such a prominent character exists. Any normal person would know something was up, but not you.
Like it was obvious they were going to kill sandrone, it’s meant to be sad for Columbina more than us
>Game shows off that she asked specifically to not have anyone else know about her passing, specially not Columbina, Game shows off her dead husk thrown away by Dottore, with on screen blood included
What exactly is OP point?
If it were the "Paimonhater guy" then there would be a point
All this thread is for is specifically skipping over blatantly been told about it, and then complaining about it not been specifically told more about it
In the quest we have seen Wanderer/ Hat Guy 'stay alive' without his core. Ineffa's core was saved after hundreds of years, and got a new body by Aino.
Let's say they did include a very heavy and emotional scene, if they bring her back which is likely, then people would say that the emotional scene is for nothing and completely devalued
I think after sandrone died bro just straight up skipped everything else and expected tony stark like funeral at the end. Did you even pay attention ? Columbina was on her body for a long ass time, they literally had a talk later saying how arlecchino is not "telling" others about sandrone and is respecting her final wish and if you are even more desperate you can go and read the book which we got from arlecchino which ( at the last page ) implies sandrone has already created a backup so she is returning. And did i mention ? she's a fkng robot ofc she will be back.
7.5/10 rage bait. Made me type a few sentences.
It is not a matter of Sandrone coming back. It is a matter of not showing any reactions to her death.
Well, I disliked other things too, but anyway.
And there's foreshadowing she'll be back too.
I did initially think they should have spent a little bit of time on it anyway, though. For example, showing Columbina grieving for a few seconds in a black and white cutscene or something like that. I think that would be better than just telling us. But if I interpreted what I consider foreshadowing correctly, that becomes a very, very minor nitpick.
I also think you would get more sympathy if you had written your point in a calmer manner, since your post comes off as very rant-y and your argument seems to drown in that.
Sandrone was amazing in the quest. She'll return, or else the glossing over would feel very weird.
Thanks for being understanding.
By the way, her "be destroyed" was clearly part of the plan, and clearly nobody was surprised by that.
No, her destruction was not a "plan" only a consequence. Everyone was suprised by that. She was not treated as robot/machine but as a friend. It just story lacked with showing proper character reactions to her death.
Calling her "best girl" only shows that you're simply being controlled by emotion and that your opinions are no longer valid.
And don't you wonder why nobody agrees with you?
