they should really consider adding AI voice actor on NPC's (only)
to make it more fun to explore the story quest.
I'm sure the only problem is increasing storage space.
and that's why they didn't do it.

They actually shouldn't consider that at all! 😀👍

After half their voice actors went on strike over AI protections? Pretty sure everyone would straight up quit if they did this
Chibikeruchan2026-01-18 03:56
you probably one of those low level 90% of ordinary gullible player who only touch the shallow level of the subject matter. if you want to figure out what shit the SAG-AFTRA strike went through go watch this [https://youtu.be/6NVgwS2IbLA](https://youtu.be/6NVgwS2IbLA)
There are already several companies who lose a labor case from replacing employees with AI
The law in there is clear. Businesses are not allowed to replace anyone with AI.
take note of the word "**REPLACE**"
NPC's has not been assigned to any voice actors.
using AI to voice them is not "replacement"
using AI to voice NPC will not affect any current employee.

I'm well aware of the situation, just pointing out that voice actors wouldn't like it because it'd make Hoyo's stance on AI clear
hyperactivator2026-01-18 02:45
Agreed. It's my favorite part of the game.
DrewChloe2026-01-18 03:10
Agreed agreed! I wish they did voice acting for world quests
One_Abbreviations_552026-01-18 21:09
Just did the Evil Eye world quest, it really blows when there is a serious scene, like a vow or some drama, and there's just text.....
Classic-Pea68152026-01-18 03:26
I like that there is a variety. I do prefer the world quests but the story ones are nice to give more content to the characters. I think the stories are more enjoyable the more you like the character.

I actually have enjoyed some more than some archon quests. Archon quests at the end of the day can always be summarized very simply, hoyo just makes it hella long
Vaiolette-Westover2026-01-18 11:33
Both serve their purpose but I agree.
Archon quests are often 7 hours of talking and like 30 minutes of gameplay while world quests generally have a much evenly distributed story versus gameplay ratio.
In terms of pure gameplay world quests simply win.
They are just lucky that their writing for Archon quests have been very good so most, including me, don't mind gameplay missing from almost their entirety.
Ideally we'd see much more of the Archon story be expressed or supported by gameplay. For example, the early nod Krai story has 4 major battles and we took part in none of them.
First Rerir fight, first Columbina fight were two instances where they just showed an admittedly gorgeous movie but this is a game, at least give us something to play ...
Natlan also had such a great concept with incorporating the war gameplay into the story but it was used twice with the second time being crammed full of pretty pointless Mini cutscenes that really broke up the pacing of the Battle.

Agree. I got downvoted the last time I said this, though.
AQ is pretty straightforward. There’s less interaction that requires your input, and you’re mostly just there to watch the story, like a movie. Even the boss battles prevent you from dying.
Meanwhile, WQ force you to explore, read books and notes, and unravel the mystery yourself.

I feel that. Story quests are why I drifted away from the game. The dialogue started to feel like it just dragged on forever.
