People's media literacy is so dead they don't even understand what power of friendship is
Every new nation people complain about pof. This is like being shocked a dog barks. Genshin is a gacha game. From 1.0 it's always about pof don't be surprised, you may not like it personally but hearing people complain every 2 seconds is so lame lol. There is pof anywhere and that's okay. People including myself like that hence why the game is popular. If you don't like that, you are totally valid to have ur own opinion. But it's not an issue where people have to complain because it's a narrative choice. Also like why wouldn't there be pof. There's nation level threats, do you expect me to belive no one wants to protect their own nations? No duh.

I mean, we already have the horse costume, so we’re nearly there.
Working together with a group of friends to defeat a common enemy is not a PoF. It's called teamwork. PoF happens when the power of the 'friendship' alone turns the tide and wins the fight.
Columbina isn't coming back through PoF. It's a collaborative effort from Columbina herself and her friends. And technically, Wanderer ain't her friend, he's mostly there to defeat Dottore whatever it takes. Without his contribution, bringing Columbina back would be almost impossible.
What PoF would look like is if Sandrone never made the formula, yet Columbina comes back anyway to answer her friends' distress call. We know that's not what happened.
The whiners only have thought clones of themselves and not friends.
Pretty sure this only started in Natlan forwards.
And to be fair...the complaints were justified.
Genshin players will summarize Lord of the rings and the matrix as power of friendship is asked to assess them.
21% of People in the us are functionally illiterate, and 54% read below a grade 6 level, so the en fandom's (which is dominated by Americans) actual inability to function without paimonsplaining shouldn't surprise anyone.
People basically go for low hanging fruit and say random stuff to be part of some kind of in group when they genuinely have no clue what they are talking about. The notion that EN can't read is NOT a myth. I observe that at least 80% of Genshin's EN fandom are functionally illiterate which makes sense given it is also younger.
They think everything is power of friendship because they is the only theme they think exists in stories. They are like the guy who goes to a high class restaurant and says everything tastes salty when asked to describe the flavour profile, because he literally doesn't know what the rest of the tastes are.
