I am trying to create a system idea for Mihoyo's writing issues to report to them (idk whether they read the in-game feedback things so I may need to try via e-mail or smth idk)
Pls tell me any flaws in this plan or idk things I should change
My main concern is people getting used to deaths so I thought maybe only a few??
What do you guys think

Anyways I commented to the other person my arguments and how/why we should do this :D
Tell me any flaws with this plan.
I would give anything just to let Mihoyo be able to focus on fewer characters for story depth reasons.
Anyways sorry but I'm not kidding. It's a win-win. You get a not-as-bad quest for the character(s) that dies, so people who are fans of them will simply like them more because the story ACTUALLY focuses on them for once instead of what? Paimon's love for food?
Hell you can still play as them, it's just that they will temporarily die.
And there! Now you got more space to focus on the rest of the alive cast!
So now, if you actually do this (and by a quest I MEAN A QUEST WITHOUT PAIMON AND LACKING NPCs):
\-The dying characters get more depth and screentime to focus on them
\-The Traveler and their relationship with the characters can be explored more
\-Whatever alive playable character(s) tags along can also be focused on
\-And now Mihoyo can narrow down all the remaining characters
If you're worried that killing too many characters off will make it sad, then don't. Just a few.
This is even a good opportunity to bring back Capitano, which most of the community has been BEGGING for, in replacement of the character(s) that die. Maybe not revive him, but let him have a quest via a world for dead people, or him appearing as a soul.... whatever?? just whatever method to make those fans happy? Wouldn't that save Mihoyo's reputation a lot?
Also if you think I am only nominating Capitano because I am a fan of him, mind you that I am a Venti fan. So I'm not saying this because I want him to come back but because this is a proper financial and reputation idea for Mihoyo.
Any arguments against this?
When the idea is this insane, no I don't need to be nicer.
No genuinely this is just insane sugestion, killing character for the sake of it doesn't add character depth, it just make death cheap and meaningless, especially just to bring back the character again later. Death doesn't make story good, death is not the only way to give character depth.
> just whatever method to make those fans happy? Wouldn't that save Mihoyo's reputation a lot?
I'm sorry but this is just pathetic, company should not change story just because some player demand them. Also save what reputation? There is nothing that need to be saved. There is a reason they are one of the only gacha game cmpany that manage to break into mainstream, they have very good reputation.
From what I get is you are still very young, you put character death in pedestal, just beceause character die doesn't make them deep, death doesn't magically improve the story. Grow up, stop putting death on pedestal, that just make you sound edgy.
What I said is that death is caused by a quest. And that quest can be an opportunity to explore a few characters more.
The death can be one that makes sense and written well. Whether they are killed just for the sake of the plot REALLY depends on the death.
And I am only thinking to kill a few off just for the sake of making Mihoyo have less alive characters in the roaster.
Imagine giving a decent story to the dying character, THEN killing them off. You didn't just make us get rid of one more character to focus on, but you also gave them the opportunity to shine in the storyline.
If you think that I am saying that the fact that they are dying makes them look deeper, fine. However what I am saying is that it's a good opportunity to give them a decent quest that ends in them dying, and their death will let us focus on the other characters.
PLUS, like I said, you may only have to do it ONCE. It's a difference between me asking to kill half the cast and just a few people.
If you want to argue against me, I bet it's more worth your time to stop insulting me and being rude, and actually give me suggestions as to how to improve my plan and make it better. If it's really flawed, then go on. Tell me how do I improve it?
I feel sorry for Hoyo's feedback parsing LLM, that it has to deal with incoherent drivel like this.
How do you say that the roaster includes less characters?
Older chars get the occasional cameo in events or come into the AQ when it makes lore sense to do so.
>Pretending a few of them don't exist? The fan base may not be very happy with that.
And you think the fanbase will prefer them being killed off? Are you even capable of rational thinking?!
And if it make sense with the story.
It's a whole other deal if I ask to kill even a quarter of the cast, but all I am thinking is killing off a few characters. Once.
Plus, I don't see it in many (most, not all incase you were about to bring examples) other fanbases that the fans hate the creator for killing off their favorite.
Focalors is dead however the fanbase doesn't really get mad at Mihoyo for killing her.
If Mihoyo treats it for the sake of the plot, it's a bad idea. However I think that Miyoho is capable of killing off a character or two AFTER bringing a compelling story that the audience would love.
Plus, who said that killing them off would make them unplayable? Players can still play with them.
I do not think that would make for a very compelling narrative.
**It's far more preferable to indicate that the characters have their own lives to tend to and thus can't constantly be involved in main narrative events or orbit the traveler.**
It's simple, it's elegant, it gives the world more depth and it opens the possibility for cameo appearances during seasonal/regional events.
\-case closed-
However it's just my opinion that some characters would be better off leaving.
Still, thank you for your feedback. I will take that into consideration :D
From reading your feedback, I don't think they will action your feedback though.
It's also not very specific. "Make a compelling storyline with these characters" is like telling someone "Just get rich".
Your feedback is kinda silly tbh. You say there are 100 characters. Kill some of them so they don't need to include them in the story. But when has a story or event story involved all 100 characters? That never happens. It has always focused on a small handful of characters with some cameo appearances from a dozen more.
Here's a thought.. you can exclude a character from a story without killing them. Shocking I know. Pretty much all of the Liyue crew were not involved in Act NK 7 and 8 for example. No one from Inazuma was there either unless you count Wanderer. And from Natlan there was no one.
So your suggestion is a solution in search of a problem.
Yeah I think that may be a better suggestion ngl
Although tbh I think it would be hard for Mihoyo to balance more than 100 characters rn...
And the player base always pointing it out whenever a character is forgotten by Mihoyo doesn't make it any better, either...
Tbh tho I appreciate your constructive feedback, and I will think of a better solution :D
I care about tightening the roaster so that we can focus on each one more
If you wanna tank the game then you're on the right track.
Plus they'd keep releasing new characters anyway.
I don't see much other player bases causing war over a character dying. Why? Because they are fleshed out, deep, and their story feels... done.
If Mihoyo killed a barely written and barely cared about character, it WOULDN'T feel done. It would feel like Mihoyo did it for the sake of lessening characters.
But if Mihoyo written a well-crafted story/quest about them, gave them a compelling arc, and their death feels earned and dramatic? That character will remained loved and Mihoyo will be praised for writing them.
Take Focalors for example. I don't think much people criticized Mihoyo for killing her off. Because her story felt "over", and killing her off felt earned and dramatic.
It makes everyone feel attached to her story more.
Now imagine if Mihoyo kept her. You sure that the Fontaine AQ would have been this memorable?
But regardless, thank you for your constructive criticism :D
I will try to fix this idea to make it better
