Play or not to play
I've been a genshin player since 1.0 and stopped playing more than 2 and half years ago.
Recently I've seen Columbina release trailer and listened to her beautiful lullaby.
that's my question: do you think genshin is worth the play in 2026?
I know it's a game that takes away hours to play and farm, also I don't know how many things they added in the shop (weapons, season pass, dresses etc).
Also they added thousand of artifacts, characters, new quests and world maps.
Do you guys enjoy those last versions? or did they add to many things, added more p2w stuff or else.
thank you for your future response π

Somehow this does not seem sincere, but my original response was sincere. Because telling people to try it out themselves for a free game is the same answer I would give to a new player. You, me, and the other commenter telling you not to do it are all different people. Also Genshin is on a couple of cloud platforms where you do not need to download 100 GB at all.
exploration: natlan is peak cause you can become animals. fontaine introduces diving. nodkrai is pretty normal like sumeru. but you should remember theres no skip button and the voiceless world quest dialogues are stupidly long sometimes.
endgame modes: there are 3. spiral abyss, imaginarium theater, and stygian onslaught. only stygian onslaught is the true ezpz content for f2ps because anyone can help you get your primogems if youre struggling. spiral abyss is still the same old advertising tool for their new characters, whereas theater forces you to level up many characters to level 70 and actually build them all.
rewards: were consistently getting more primogems every patch now. its too good to be f2p since natlan's release. definitely worth grinding if you love or wanna play certain characters.
There are probably 5 videos on YouTube with that exact title already.
You're asking as if the game is 80β¬ to redownload. It's a free game, just check yourself. Since I'm quite sure that asking active players on a Genshin sub will produce pretty biased answers.
But I'm being unfair. Since one of your questions makes sense.

Doing dailies takes like 5 minutes max. You get 200/200 resin a day and you can spend 40 or even 60 at a time. The "hours of grind" is a myth in my opinion that comes only from people that try to be F2P but with a spender mentality. That's probably the most misguided and self-harming way to play Genshin. Just install and enjoy the game. You're playing an exploration RPG with good story, not a "gatcha".
