It really is crazy to think that there'll be people who will play this game and never interact with endgame so they will have zero clue what proper teambuilding is.
That sound like a dick thing to say?
You sound the exact same.

lore is eternal. endgame is optional <3
issm2026-01-18 10:24
Lore is a mess of irrelevant vagueposting.
Endgame is at least a somewhat interesting allocation puzzle.
TheTerrarian832026-01-18 10:14
No not really, they’re actually both pretty reasonable takes coming from different crowds.
But as a story game, it’s pretty crazy that people will not do WQ
issm2026-01-18 10:22
Genshin isn't a story game, it's a gacha game.
If I was playing Genshin for the story, I'd be pissed at all the pointless characters getting shoved in my face for an hour before being relegated to cameos, at best.
bastianwibisana2026-01-18 10:37
genshin is a story game. you can absolutely progress through the story without ever using the gacha. you also need to finish the story if you want to progress through the game further. why would anyone play genshin for its gacha? it has one of the worst pity systems in existence.
Individual-Author4772026-01-18 10:40
Genshin is mainly just a gacha game. Most of the people that I know that still play Genshin just hope in the game after a while of not logging in , pulling characters that they want like furina and columbina, and then hopes out. The gacha is the main incentive, not really the story.
promptotron50002026-01-18 10:16
The fuck? What OP said wasn't a dick thing, and neither is what you said in your example. It's an objectively true observation in both sentences, it's not a critique of someone's playstyle or value in society.
issm2026-01-18 10:19
It's an objectively true thing to say that some people will play Genshin/Nod Krai and not play Abyss/world quests and as a result won't have a clue how to build a proper team/what Ordo is.
"It's crazy that \^" is no longer an objective statement. It's now an opinion that you can't believe that someone *like that* exists.
_kubfu2026-01-18 10:20
its not that deep oml
issm2026-01-18 10:23
y'all seem to be pretty offended by something that's not that deep.
promptotron50002026-01-18 10:24
But people like that DO exist, what's the problem? You're being super sensitive and hysterical about nothing. No one said anything bad about them.
issm2026-01-18 10:26
Lmao, do we read the same subreddit?
Go to a "I want a skip button" thread and tell me no one says bad things about people who don't give a shit about story.
promptotron50002026-01-18 10:29
But OP didn't say that. You're acting like a bruised animal lashing out at anyone who does like the story. Who hurt you here?
issm2026-01-18 10:31
Am I expected to check the post history of every single person I respond to? No, wait, maybe I am, certainly plenty of people have snooped my comments.
OP said something that matches the generally story elitist vibe of this subreddit.
I responded in that context.
The subreddit got big mad. Must have hit a nerve.
promptotron50002026-01-18 10:39
It's your own nerves that got hit and now you're trying to cope about it.
The thing is that the majority of Genshin players are here for the story, so when you stink up a place with opinions like "story sucks/skip story" then you have to expect that people wouldn't like your smell. That's called self-awareness that you tried to bring up to someone else in this post. There must be some subreddits/threads/discords that are only about endgame/meta who also hate the story or don't care about it, and that's ok, I think you would have more fun in those places than trying to change the culture here.
There are story elitists out there, but there are also meta elitists of your ilk everywhere. Neither behaviour is good, but you're getting triggered at someone who didn't say anything disparaging about the way you play.
casper_072026-01-18 10:18
It didn’t sound like a dick thing but the way u said it yourself does make it sound like it now so congrats?

Trying to shoehorn the quest into the Nod Krai AQ was a major misstep, was not done well whatsoever, really brought down the writing quality
beinginthere2026-01-18 10:27
Da hell ur talking about? Mihoyo literally suggested the players to enjoy the story (lore) by fully completing other-world quests as well. And guess what? 99% Genshin are not even bothered to read or even doin little research about what was actually goin on. All stories are all are connected and only understood by those who actually read and following it. The rest is just hype social media with so much misinformation, clickbaiting, and drama-farming. It was always like that. Nodkrai is major step to come back to lore and guess what? Nobody is still gonna try to read it and blame the company for not spoon-feeding them with complete lore at hand. Also people dont really need to finish world quest if they just want hype and anything so called cinema.
Black-----Manta2026-01-18 10:32
? What? I'm saying they didn't integrate the information we gleaned from the WQ into the AQ very well, and that was detrimental to the story.
Pre AQ7, it was just two instances of Sandrone lore dumping with little reason to, barely connected to the issue at hand, and became way too integral to the story in AQ 8.
Even if what you said was true, there's better ways to integrate the information into the AQ. They've already done this better in Ineffa's SQ and Nahida's second SQ
LivingASlothsLife2026-01-18 10:08
You can tell the devs really wish they made that World quest voiced and/or part of Fontaines main story quest. The amount of love they gave this World Quest in Nod Krai through Sandrone shows how much they love it
Playing NarzissenKreuz before Nod Krai gives so much context for Sandrone and the conversations she has with Traveler in Nod Krai with her tea party they attended. Granted the conversation does a lot to summarize it neatly, but by playing it before hand it still completes the experience fully with all the context to what shes saying. The devs seem to ***really*** like Sandrone
I think its their best World Quest chain in the entire game. That and the Jeht quest chains
Ikcatcher2026-01-18 10:19
Nod-Krai is honestly Sandrone's arc than it was Dottore's.
She ended taking the responsibility of saving the world, even if she would never admit it.
LivingASlothsLife2026-01-18 10:24
>She ended taking the responsibility of saving the world, even if she would never admit it.
"is the desire to save oneself enough of a justification to try and save the world?" - Sandrone
Except it was never about saving the world for her. It was about saving the people she cared about and sticking it to Dottore who she absolutely hates. Such a compelling arc she had in Nod Krai
Varglord2026-01-18 10:57
Yup. Even her final response wasn't, I did it to save the world or friends or anything, it was "I know what I don't want. Go to hell."
ferdz12122026-01-18 16:12
Maybe a vision will be given to her if she just dream of saving the world at that moment. But knowing Sandrone
Khelthuzaad2026-01-18 11:04
I sense Mihoyo is cooking some religious subtext in the story.
In the Talmud/Old Testament (Sanhedrin 4:5), states:
> "Whoever saves a single life is considered by scripture to have saved the whole world."
Malixhous2026-01-18 11:07
Is that the verse from Schindler's List?
kokatoto2026-01-18 14:44
Genshin is coated with loads religious elements. The game’s architecture is Gnosticism, and for Fontaine specially it’s literally Christianity core to core, the whole flood thing is like the most obvious hint
Khelthuzaad2026-01-18 15:20
The Archon names are references to an Christian book about devils in Hell :))
Weaponmaster4702026-01-18 10:26
The Nod Krai character select has the Hiisi pillar on the left side and Sandy's bureau on the right as permanent fixtures. If that doesn't indicate her higher narrative significance on par with or slightly below Bina I don't know what else Hoyo could say.
masternieva6662026-01-18 14:46
Yeah the fact that she combine both Alain and Rene idea using Pulonia to compute Rene calculation to save Nord krai is so good. Maybe Alain want to meet Rene one last time to collab using Pulonia but his pride stop him.
Ifalna_Shayoko2026-01-18 10:39
Frankly, I found it the most tiresome to read.
At times, the water creatures were just too poetic, that my English reached it's limits.
Me_to_Dazai2026-01-18 10:46
I feel like that's a Hoyo problem in general not just in this quest, they tend to make every bit of dialogue have excessively flowery prose with 50 different metaphors, give elaborate names to every object, ritual, a person's title etc and have a character go on a philosophical tangent to explain something. HSR is sometimes even worse than Genshin when it comes to this (the infamous Charmony Dove speech or "THE CAVE")
Ifalna_Shayoko2026-01-18 10:51
Charmony dove inside the cave!
Yeah I agree that it can be a bit exhausting. Though for some reason the Narzissenkreuz quest was especially bad for me.
TetraNeuron2026-01-18 12:10
what, you don't like 5 oversized pet animals talking in riddles for hours on end?
NoOne2152026-01-18 11:07
I can excuse the cave, philosophy can be a tricky thing to interpret. Fun subject though.
Rakdar_Far_Strider2026-01-18 11:46
>give elaborate names to every object, ritual, a person's title etc
And even worse, repeat said elaborate name *in full* **every single time it comes up in conversation** instead of shorthanding it into something comprehensible. People simply just do not talk in the way many Genshin characters do, and I'm sure being filtered through a layer of localization only makes it worse.
You can only hear something like "Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale" so many times in the span of a single conversation before you start to tune *everything* out. It's just so exhausting.
Me_to_Dazai2026-01-18 13:14
The Oratrice is atleast somewhat okay because everyone except Neuvillette just says Oratrice but this recent questline in Nod Krai had me reading "The Proofs of Cognoscenti" fully every single time over 50 times lol and that was in English, Natlan was even worse for me by virtue of everything being named in a different language that's kinda hard to pronounce so even remembering that stuff was hard
Panty-Sniffer-122026-01-18 16:08
Reminds me of how the moon sisters were talking with columbina. They were literally saying her full govt name every sentence like bro chill out
Ecstatic-Source60012026-01-18 13:46
I think its overall EN localization problem. In my native language all text is not tiresome to read, but in english its like was made for robots, its dry (dry as was made just for word count) and straightforward. I dont know how it to explain
frostN0VA2026-01-18 14:00
I feel like a lot of it is localization. Even character names/titles.
Rerir in Chinese - Moon Hunter.
Rerir in Japanese - Moon Hunter.
Rerir in English - Rächer of Solnari.
Chinese - Narcissus Cross Society.
Japanese - Narcissus Cross Society.
English - Narzissenkreuz Ordo.
Like, when it's standalone it's not too bad. But when you get bombarded with such terms every dialogue you quickly loose track what is what and who is who, and how everything is related to everyone.
I play with JP VO and EN TEXT and Japanese often explains things much simple than how EN localization does it because, as you say, they try to be all poetic and metaphoric every dialogue.
BichonWisperer2026-01-18 10:48
They have a lit of different languages available so while keeping the eng va, you could have put the language you're most pro efficient in
Paiguy72026-01-18 14:33
Exactly. I skimmed most of the text while playing the WQ and as a result basically took away nothing from it because it was all such a slog to get through.
iHate_tomatoes2026-01-18 10:44
Is there like an online guide or something that gives the recommended order of quests?

the [wiki](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Ann_of_the_Narzissenkreuz) has everything. start from the link i gave and then click next to see the follow up quests after that

Unvoiced quests are what make me able to lock in and read at my own pace.
RagnarokAeon2026-01-18 11:29
I'm really waiting for that lore bomb of Dottore as a clone of Rene.
It cannot be a coincidence that the other loquacious ego maniac who tried to become a god, had tons of lore in Sumeru in due part to study of rebirth mysticism and Khaenri'ah, was around people with Eleazar symptoms, and was involved with clones is mentioned repeatedly before Dottore's appearance.
I'm convinced (and have been since that quest in Fontaine) that Dottore is one of Rene's rejected clones which would explain both his obsession with Scaramouche (the *other* rejected artificial being) and his inferiority/superiority complex.
ComposedOfStardust2026-01-18 12:40
....hol up
You're cooking
If nothing else the parallels do feel deliberate
Laevigata2026-01-18 14:21
Rene had very different motivations for attaining that power. He wasn't an egomaniac, and was more of an anti-hero.
Melodic_Matter_95052026-01-18 13:24
Ok, I’m not sure how it is in English.
But in my Native language NarzissenKreuz was a horrible experience
It’s long, monotone, boring
It dumps tonns and tonns of monotone lore dumbs in a dryest possible text.
I asked like 10 people who were refering to this quest as a “good” one, and not a single one could give me a recap of what actually happened in it.
I also found the Tower to be extremely lame as the location, and final boss to be a bit of a disappointment. (They just painted Tulpa in purple, bro)
In my book, The Jeht questline is infinitely times superior.
jofromthething2026-01-18 13:56
I feel like this is a fair interpretation. I personally liked Caterpillar’s quest and finding and interacting with Mary-Ann and defeating the dragon to do so, but I kind of agree that Rene was underwhelming and not particularly notable lol. His ideals and the world clock thing didn’t really resonate with me like the other parts of the story did.
Luster-Purge2026-01-18 16:56
I think it's the way the quest itself isn't linear. You have to go around and *find* the various parts of it to even get the main plot to start all across the country - Elynas, Metropide, the sunken institute (which you can only even access as a result of an otherwise unreleated quest where a treasure diver tries to screw you over).
It's also rather blatantly Alice in Wonderland coded which is kind of funny.
Ratman8222026-01-18 19:05
I played it in english, and I'm someone who actually reads the world quests. I forget literally everything that happened during it.
Sidious_092026-01-18 14:17
My biggest gripe with that quest line wasn't even the lack of voice acting, it's that it was really hard to follow. Mainly because the philosophical themes and the usual buttload of new names you have to memorize made things harder for non-native English speakers (and to be fair voice acting would've helped here), but also because it was made up of multiple separate quests that converged into the main one, which you didn't know at the beginning. On top of that, the quests were spread out over multiple patches AND it was at the time when the encounter point system was just introduced and you couldn't save up your points, forcing you to spread out the questing even more if you didn't want to waste encounter points.
ItsukiKurosawa2026-01-18 14:46
I understand what you mean, and maybe this might seem controversial, but it's strange that I couldn't stay focused and felt like I missed a lot of information?
Similar to the Aranara side quest, I was really more focused on the main story and wanted to do a short side quest to grind, and then the story dragged on before I got interested or stopped and went back to the main story.
Even in the new region, I don't know if I should continue the main story or do the side quests I find along the way because I'm afraid of falling down another rabbit hole.
And what was strange is how there was a focus on how Traveler separated from Paimon, so I found at least three side quests along the way where Paimon was casually there as if it were a normal adventure. I even avoided following Flins' boss, but at the same time I feel like I might have missed something important in the story.
KibbloMkII2026-01-18 10:13
I'm one of them.
Although it's mostly I'm just lazy and unmotivated to quest 98% of the time, I'll do them eventually
Dylangillian2026-01-18 11:51
> I'll do them eventually
We all know this means you'll never do them. Which is entirely fair if you don't want to. but you are missing out on some of the best content in Genshin since the writing isn't held back like voiced content is.
bunyivonscweets2026-01-18 10:14
It's me i'm that people
Informal_Koala14742026-01-18 10:21
Same. I don't know if I have done anything in Fontaine except speed run for teleport waypoints and statues of the seven.
Oh, I did get caught up in some world quest about some weird little blobby creature and painting though.
Same with Sumeru.
Low_Artist_76632026-01-18 10:52
That's the quest.
Nevanada2026-01-18 12:56
one of 4 branches required to do the main one, that is.
ElectronicWing62872026-01-18 10:34
Same. I started playing during 5.2 and with the sheer amount of content in the game i just haven't gotten around to doing a ton of the world quests yet.
bunyivonscweets2026-01-18 14:10
i don't do quests as a matter of procrastination and because i see them as a piggy bank for primos.
i'm f2p and if i ever need a lot of primogems i start exploring and doing quests and even hold off on claiming achievement primogems
Inflameable0092026-01-18 10:46
Hello me.
I even got characters from waaay back then and only do them if they're blocking a quest...
AnonUSA3822026-01-18 10:16
Sadly I don’t remember much besides the basics such as that one dude (Jacob?) merging with the primodial waters to prevent the apocalypse and that annoying endless labyrinth.
It was interesting but a bit difficult for me to follow, I might have to watch a YouTube play through as a refresher
NoHovercraft32582026-01-18 10:26
That's honestly one of my main issues with genshin, but I guess it's just in the nature of a life service game that stretches over several years. If you've played all the world quests, events, etc from the beginning you just forget a lot again over time. It doesn't help that sometimes there's a whole essay for something that could be told in two sentences, and that there's often several terms for the same thing/person, making it even more confusing
Fenghuang02962026-01-18 10:34
Yeah the names thing is particularly annoying; for ages I thought ‘Chymical Marriage’ was something to do with ‘chymes’, as in music (as in Remurians). It wasn’t until this latest AQ explicitly said that ‘Chymical’ is just a ye olde way of saying ‘chemical’ that I realised the mistake. I love the bits of flair stuff like that gives but Genshin takes it a bit too far sometimes.
ComposedOfStardust2026-01-18 12:45
Tbf if you're vaguely familiar with alchemical/esoteric terms you would've heard of chymical and how it's pronounced. I guess it's similar to words like druid/paragon/d20 being familiar to dnd players but sounding like niche abstract words to me, an outsider who has never been around the dnd corner of the world
ThAnKYoUfOrThE_gOlD2026-01-18 10:41
What you can't remember all the memorable names and characters / events? Like when akashba'badara activated the ukuhabara system which caused rhwenda and liksha to enter the fandahara system and turn into she"era's which then caused the ukuhubara system to enter into akahabara mode.
NoHovercraft32582026-01-18 10:53
Yeah, something like that. I think I'm fairly invested in the games story and usually don't skip anything lore related. I can only imagine how confusing it must be for the average player who doesn't play this game several hours per week
nyaunyauham2026-01-18 10:58
As someone whose native language isnt available in Genshin at all, this is how it feels playing the game like 70% of the time hahaha
Ryuunoru2026-01-18 11:08
My thoughts exactly. Like how hard is it to remember the Narcissistic Crotch Ordeal? Smh my head
New_Rook_Nook2026-01-18 11:29
Narcissistic Crotch lmao
But yeah....this is a rare moment where I'll stand up, put my hand up and say it outloud to the teachers (lore enthusiasts): I'm sorry I'm not able to join convos because I just...forget stuff, world quest events, world quest NPC names (with few exceptions), and some miscellaneous stuff.
I remember the outcomes and endings exactly, Jeht, Sara/Aranara, Mary-Ann/Narcissenzkrez (idk how to spell it), Ochkanatlan, the volcano, etc. Qll major world quests post inazuma, I remember their endings. And the main NPC for em, that's it.
I guess I'm not apologising for doing something wrong like forgetting stuff, moreso just sayin in admittance that these quests go on for a WHILEEE and having done.......sumeru 3.....Fontaine 2 and half...Natlan- 7 and a half Archon quest level World Quests fades comes, goes and fades through 3 years of playing lol
Lacirev2026-01-18 11:16
It's so hard to keep track of characters when everything is just names and no appearance or a voice, and then sometimes one character has like 20 names, 4 titles, and had like 12 different jobs that refers to them because they're known by a bunch of other people so half the time you're just trying to figure out WHO is being talked about.
That's like the perfect time for the dialogue boxes to have the little annotation for the character name but it rarely comes up for WQs
CryoSparks8882026-01-18 11:58
I agree with this so much, half of the time spent with WQ is finding who is who and where is where
Hogarth_the_terrible2026-01-18 12:26
This is so true. I completed lil buddy's questline around a week ago. When Kukulkan guy told that he has 50 different names, I was like, I'm pretty sure I've heard all of this names before. But have no idea where or when,
I felt like those fancy names were supposed to show me how important this guy is, but I completely missed it.
Slow_Let37482026-01-18 18:25
im not sure if it's what u were referring to but kukulkan (the ai dragon ruler or something) was larping as some natlan npcs before that we met, dragons like to change forms in genshin, but i also didn't know this until much later and it was also never made clear to the players.
Nevanada2026-01-18 12:55
And it usually comes up for the most useless parts. Stuff you can easily understand like the most recent one with Wanderer.
Panichord2026-01-18 14:40
Then you get to Natlan and learn about how Xiacoatounomelatl and Nochech'taer'al inscribed the Abalanchexiotochaml relic with Phlomistigene
Jnliew2026-01-18 15:04
The issue with what you wrote is that the terms Mihoyo uses are actual cultural-religious terminology that Mihoyo is directly taking inspiration from and incorporating into the story
From what I've read from Iranians who are into their pre-Islamic history, Khvarena of Good and Evil is really impressive in its incorporation of Zoroastrian theology into the world building there, even using really deep cut theology as well
Hell, even the most maligned that were the Aranara names are mostly Sanskrit names/words with "Ara" added in front
jinxedandcursed2026-01-18 12:00
It's not a memory issue for me since my own memory is stupid and seems to be unable to forget most things relating to Genshin, even if I want to. It's more of a comprehension issue. There were a LOT of moving parts in a world quest that touched on a lot of preconceived notions and theories about the game's world and proceeded to break or misdirect from nearly all of them. There were also 3 generations of people to keep track of. I loved going through the quest (actually feel like it should've been part of the Fontaine AQ), but even I'm still having to go back to the wiki to figure out how some things connect to one another, and for the life of me don't ask about the 1st generation. I don't know anything about those shipwrecks or their parents nor how those connect either.
kokko6932026-01-18 10:35
You are not the only one.
I just remember that I got a neat sword and that's it xD
cakebrave2026-01-18 10:40
Yeah same I did the quest, I enjoyed it, I thought that it was peak.
Completely forgot about it during the Natlan story line and when Sandrone mentioned it I was honestly puzzled because I didn't remember who Rene or Alain was.
And I felt kinda stupid since I clearly remember doing the quest but I don't remember any specific aside from Seymour (the mecha dog).
Wait was Seymour from the ordo or that one Melusine quest.
ultnie2026-01-18 10:49
Seymour was from both. You have to do painting melusine, Caterpillar and Annapausis quests first for the main part of Ordo to start
Arnetto-cornetto2026-01-18 11:42
The way I'm in the exact same boat and mostly just remember the sweet sword we got at the end
Ryuunoru2026-01-18 11:07
Same. I tend to pay attention to the important quests but couldn't really follow this one. It was structured differently and presented in a more complex way. Add time to that, and of course you forget a lot of things too.
noivern_plus_cats2026-01-18 12:21
It doesn't help that the Ann segment of it is just really weirdly written to be super confusing
afflictushydrus2026-01-18 11:08
Tldr is that there are 4 fellas - Rene (who became the primordial water man), Jacob (who became the abyss baptist boss), Mary-Ann (proven to be related Ann the oceanid, suspected to be related to Sandrone) and Alain (Sandrone's maker, creator of Fontaine's Arkhe system, oh and he also made Seymour - the robodog).
JSImmortals2026-01-18 11:38
Thank for this, I totally forgot who Alain was until you mentioned Seymour the robodog. Dog quests are always easier to remember.
Junior_Box_28002026-01-18 21:13
Correct me if I'm mistaken but wasn't part of Mary-Anns consciousness also fused with the oceanid Lyris? So theres 2 (3 if we're counting Sandrone) versions of Mary-Ann running around
ReversedHalo2026-01-18 22:57
You forgot Carter and Caterpillar.
CoconutxKitten2026-01-18 11:10
Rene is the one who merged consciousness. He’s referenced several times by Sandrone as someone who had different ideas than Alain
Jakob is the one in the melusine quest who tries to reawaken Elynas
niceworkthere2026-01-18 12:03
Didn't help that the quests were
* spread across months of patches,
* padded by walls of texts with fantasy (in)coherence,
* assuming these previous ones be memorable enough to build onto.
Now if you're working IRL, you might be forced to rush in what play time the expiring patch events afford you.
DrakonofDarkSkies2026-01-18 10:17
That would be me. I honestly just wasn't a hige fan of Fontaine exploration and did barely any of the quests.
ankitjad2026-01-18 10:18
Narzissenkreuz quest stocks rising now coz of 6.3 aq
Me_to_Dazai2026-01-18 10:19
Same problem with Durin's SQ and Simulanka. Durin's quest hits so much harder if you experienced Simulanka in real time when it was released. Even the interactions that Durin has with the toy figurines and origami animals in the AQ is a nice little homage but players who haven't played Simulanka will never understand. Honestly event stories with massive lore drops are worse cause atleast the Narzissenkreuz Ordo questline is permanently available but event stories aren't.
But yeah, knowing the whole history behind this makes Sandrone a more interesting character. I still remember the "she's Mary Anne Guillotin!" (well technically a copy of her) freak outs lol and I guarantee we're gonna have the same thing happen whenever they link Reed Miller into the main quest and people don't know who he is cause they didn't do the entire questline in NK. Heck, even a playable character like Illuga has such an endearing story and character development in a world quest rn and I'm sure we'll still have people acting like Illuga is a nobody because they didn't do the quest lol
PvZGaming12026-01-18 10:27
"Never" understand is a bit of an overstatement, since players can still watch it, but i get the sentiment
mount_sunrise2026-01-18 10:51
they really should add them though. it sucks having to watch a game's story through a YouTube video. i remember just wanting to know Danganronpa's story so i watched it on YouTube. that was several hours of just watching. it's like watching a really, really long movie. it's not gonna be any shorter if i play it, but it sure does feel way faster because i'm actively engaged in it. the fact that there's a bunch of event stuff with actual story and they haven't implemented it in Genshin (but they have in HSR and ZZZ) is kind of a big deterrent for me from playing the game among other reasons. if i'm going to play a game with a huge story, at the least, i want to know everything about it not by reading or watching it from a third party source but the actual game itself
PvZGaming12026-01-18 11:21
I agree, I'm just saying even ppl who didn't play simulanka can get the reference
UselessDopant2026-01-18 11:28
Reminds me of Warframe
There are multiple events whose stories give much needed context to the noticeably bare main story when you strip away wiki dives and lore you need to go out of your way to find, scan, and read.
Examples include:
Alad V's entire story arc (his intro in The Gradivus Dilemma, the Zanuka Project, his infection and recreation of the Mutualist Technocyte strain, his cure in the Tubemen of Regor, all building up to his main quest appearances in Second Dream and New War)
The events leading up to the New War (the number of irl years and two separate Events building up to the main quest. The latter is absent, so players don't feel the build up)
Gamemodes like Isleweaver having story relevance, but without the event introduction it released with, players have only YouTube archives to have full context
Burntoastedbutter2026-01-18 11:30
I'm sad I missed out on the Simulanka... Was burnt out from everything at the time and was very on/off with genshin :(
DaSwifta2026-01-18 12:37
Same here
Ok_Astronomer_65012026-01-18 11:37
At least the narzissenkruez questline isn't time limited.
LeaderOk80122026-01-18 11:41
Yep I wouldn't say "same problem". I beg the world to let me play simulanka but I can't 😭
Z000Burst2026-01-18 12:06
> Reed Miller
that quest line really make me want to go out and atomize all the treasure hoarder
he was right in the end, a symbol will lose it meaning and be perverted by other for their own mean, better to die and forgotten in their own term then survive long enough to become the butt of the joke
Me_to_Dazai2026-01-18 12:35
That man is the only reason I'm even remotely interested in the treasure hoarders as a faction honestly, in the beginning treasure hoarders are literally just treated as joke and used as the go-to bad guys for a random character's story quest. But Reed Miller is actually interesting (and badass), shame his legacy's now turned into a joke of a faction
ElsaGranhiert2026-01-18 14:34
Reed Miller would roll over his grave if he learns about the current treasure hoarders.
safarispiff2026-01-18 12:10
Genshin really needs something like HSR's conventional memoir; there is so much critical lore context and backstory buried in time limited event stories, and time limited event stories have been basically the primary "story quest" equivalents for multiple characters, including many of the four stars.
There's a risk of running up the data storage, but I think it's possible to have them as an optional download pack like a lot of current story quest content. Regardless, it's better than leaving new players with absolutely zero clue about critical lore and characterization.
Me_to_Dazai2026-01-18 12:25
Events being the story quest for 4 star characters is becoming quite the problem now, new players will literally never see Sethos or Chevreuse unless they do Cyno or Chiori's SQs, they'll never see anything more about Ifa other than his very brief cameo during the interlude quest and they'll literally never see Gaming (this one is especially egregious considering the Lantern Rite quest for him was genuinely something everyone can relate to) and Lanyan anywhere ever unless they add a hangout event for those two. Fischl, Razor, Kaveh and Freminet had pretty memorable moments in event quests, it's a shame new players won't be able to see it. I still see some people wondering why Kaveh's so loved or why Heizou's always brought up in 4 star discussions lol
Albedo has a lot of his very interesting lore and background locked away in event stories but since he's an important character for the endgame and a 5 star, he atleast has a little bit of leeway but the 4 star curse is real. But yeah they really need to atleast let people play through the quest itself from previous events, the 5 Kasen one, all Albedo events, 2.8 GAA, Nahida's birthday, the recent Sumeru quest from 6.1 all add enough to the lore to actually get a player to care about the story and these characters more
safarispiff2026-01-18 12:30
And it's silly because they arguably aren't even saving any money—they're still spending money and writing time on creating detailed, largely well written stories for 4 stats, they just, I don't know, release those stories for like 2 weeks and then pull them? For any players who start after said event, it's as if they never wrote the story but for Hoyo they very much did spend effort and resources making that story.
KlausGamingShow2026-01-18 16:12
Genshin devs take FOMO to absurd levels
"if you don't play my events in time, you will not only miss on the rewards, but you will also never fully experience the story as anybody else - so think carefully if you want to take a break bc you have a tough semester in college or someone you love passed"
Bored_Lily2026-01-18 12:24
I was so pissed about missing albedos event because I hadn't joined Genshin then. It hits so much harder when you do the AQ. I had read up the story before the AQ came out because my friends had raved about it.
rosalyn78902026-01-18 12:51
The illuga part hits hard specially. He's such an amazing character with great model but he was cursed
Me_to_Dazai2026-01-18 13:07
At first I didn't think much of him since he seemed kinda like your typical goody two shoes upright soldier type but boy was I wrong. He was such a good and endearing character in the WQ, I was kinda shocked they put in that much thought and care into the writing for a WQ but Illuga came out all the better because of it. And yeah, his in-game model is so pretty his 2D drip art did not do him justice AT ALL. Illuga is so precious T-T
mitchellad2026-01-18 10:20
I’m that people. I’m not even sure whether I’ve done the world quest or not. Although the word narzisseunkreus orde seems familiar.
Vegetto_ssj2026-01-18 10:22
Maybe is skill issue, but...I barely remember the events, and I remember not having understand so well the story.
Background_Dot36922026-01-18 12:08
Yes, it was all too theoretical and philosophical.
AverageA2Enjoyer2026-01-18 14:50
I feel like this is the common issue for world quests after sumeru's aranara world quest. Maybe it's just how aranara world quest is more straight forward, like I don't remember most of what happened during aranara quest but I still remember how the general plot went, for the Fontaine one I only remember talking dog, caterpillar, and the toy sword.
Vegetto_ssj2026-01-18 14:58
Jeth's one was enought straightforward too
Niklaus152026-01-18 10:23
I haven't even completed Fontaine AQ and I've been playing since release, I probably have hundreds of quest on my log I just don't enjoy them I play for the exploration and combat
Traditional-Fox-61052026-01-18 10:50
Okay not completing the archon quest is insane lmao. I hated fontaine so much but i at least completed the archon quest and then just disappeared for a few patches.
hupagi2026-01-18 10:28
im gonna be fr with u i forgor the quest. i only remember the wooden sword and the story loop
DevolayS2026-01-18 10:56
The way you're talking makes it look like you're not a super literate person so it's not surprising that 'u forgor'
jyusatsu2026-01-18 10:29
It was a long time since I played the Narzissenkreuz quest chain and I actually still haven't finished it (like the Caterpillar thing and the Tower) so I'm still left out of the whole story. And the only I thing I can connect is Sandrone a creation of Alain (which is plain obvious) and she knows about the Ordo.
birbtooOPpleasesnerf2026-01-18 10:30
if they're voiced I'd give it attention back then
beinginthere2026-01-18 10:30
The ones who love the lore will eventually reach and interact with it. But for some who only consume the hype and cinema thingy. They don't need it, they will forget it when the latest hype comes up.
Smartace32026-01-18 10:30
bro i PLAYED the quests and I still couldn't tell you who anyone here is except mary-ann
Rachit552026-01-18 10:31
Why tf would they hide important lore in side quests? If it's important keep them for the archon quests. Every since the aranara quest, I have never attempted another world quest until an actual skip button is made.
Kswendes2026-01-18 10:43
Archon quests are just "whats currently happening in the nation" and a way to make you like gacha characters, while world quests can tackle on the lore
World quests have always been the more interesting ones ever since Inazuma
Varglord2026-01-18 10:54
Because world quests aren't sidequests. The AQ may be the major plot beats for the through-line of the story, but the world quests are the main quests of each of their respective regions.
If you're ignoring them because there's no skip button, how would that be any different than doing them but skipping the whole thing anyway. Just say you want primos mate.
cycber1232026-01-18 10:59
So ppl not interested in lore and stories can just skip the side quest entirely.
BabyPotatoNaCl2026-01-18 10:31
I didnt. In my defense I really hate the underwater exploration so I dont think Ive even unlocked it lol
Adorelis2026-01-18 10:34
I just don't want the tower gone. That quest can sit down there for all eternity
Ultradamo23062026-01-18 10:34
Didnt sandrone gives you a recap what happens in act 4
CBT-DIO-from-OVA2026-01-18 10:35
Man I just couldn't finish Fontaine World Quests, they were so damn boring, I even tried by skipping the dialogues on that research institute, but couldn't make it (why do Fontaine NPCs yap pointless stuff so damn much?)
It just made me close the game and play Elden Ring. It's probably bcs I hated Fontaine puzzles and swimming gameplay bcs it just invalidated your characters, and if was to read a story, I usually prefer a book. It's sad bcs it's the only region I don't feel like doing 100%
chikaaa-2026-01-18 10:35
it's long and boring
Draconic_Legends2026-01-18 10:37
As of now I'm preparing a full tldr of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo quest line for my friend who's skipping to Nod Krai for Wanderer/Dottore
fuguelet2026-01-18 12:07
let me know if you finish, would love to catch up on it again bc i highkey forgot 80% of what happened already
InfiniteAJ2026-01-18 12:27
I mean there's probably at least five different YouTube videos from lore enthusiasts that already do this.
SoulStriker342026-01-18 10:39
I'll just think of this as Sandrone prequel whenever I do it
Lazy-Stomach-29182026-01-18 10:40
I think Sandrone still an enjoyable character without remember Narz quest. But knowing the story of this four orphans make her an top tier character in term of writting, that it hard to put myself in out-of-context players shoes.
seninn2026-01-18 10:40
Narzissenkino
Hot_Fix_31312026-01-18 10:42
I did it and still have no idea what happened
Appropriate_Fall63762026-01-18 10:42
It's a decent story but it feels cheapened by Sandrone's connection. It's nice to just have quests about NPCs and world building where the devs aren't doing it for the payoff of selling you a new $300 USD character down the road. Sandrone could have been her own thing and didn't need to be based off of Mary-Ann.
chocolate-corn2026-01-18 10:48
Then there are people like me, who did the World Quest and subsequently forgot about 90% of its contents, only to use Sandrone as a refresher as to what happened
DasBleu2026-01-18 14:59
This quite frankly is how I am with most world quest. Except for the children of the sun.
oceans1592026-01-19 01:49
i remember the inazuma ones well, but they’re like never referenced lmfao. sumeru desert made my eyes glaze over but we go back like every other patch
Tkttkt-Implacavel2026-01-19 05:01
The pikazuna of worldensunks did die before the years of goldennacht. So Immershrimer could live for it. Then blubersinner catch fire and won that wat.
Yes, I read all those world quests and this is what I understood.
Slow_Let37482026-01-18 18:28
Because it is often told in text-spam essays, maybe to stretch the time. Like, the Narzissenkreuz questline, like most other quests, was about 10x longer than it needed to be. I do love the rest of the game, but in quests it's like.. the concept of brevity is totally alien to teyvat, like the traveler. (cause he is an alien xD). Everything has 1 million words and we can't even skip it.
throwaway_2k52026-01-19 02:19
I love story in games, but they are the worst at telling stories well and succinctly. I'm bored to tears by most of the writing in genshin even when the story IS good bc they don't let you get to enjoy it in a satisfying way. It all feels so heavy handed and verbose.
aurorablueskies2026-01-18 21:34
This was me the entire quest lol I took a break for almost a year before Nod Krai so my brain was struggling to remember that world quest throughout all of Sandrone's cutscenes
BluHor1zon2026-01-18 10:48
I believe the devs approached it with an attempt to "kill 2 birds with one stone".
To those who have played through, understood and remembered the Narzissenkreuz Ordo world quest, being able to see it being integrated into a character + AQ was a treat to lore lovers.
To those who have not (or not yet), it is a great way to get some who are more curious and interested after playing through the AQ to maybe go back to Fontaine and experience this world quest for themselves.
And finally to those who aren't either of both, I believe nothing changes for them and that is ok too. The devs can't win everyone and I think it was a good attempt to integrate WQ to AQ.
Rush1662026-01-18 10:49
The problem is considering the World Quests less important than the Archon Quests.
For me, there's no difference between the two; in fact, some of the most important information came from the World Quests.
If these quests were animated and voiced, they would be the true highlight of the game's story.
CoconutxKitten2026-01-18 11:16
This is it. They’re both important. AQ is the core that WQ are build around. You need both for a complete story
Hopefully no one skips the Reed Miller quest lines
imbusthul2026-01-18 11:47
Indeed, the world quests are most of the time more important than the Archon quests in terms of knowing the world's history.
Scheissdrauf882026-01-18 13:34
They are also usually better, since the writers are not forced to shill characters, making interactions more natural and story less forced/better paced.
Suspicious-Call4052026-01-18 10:50
I never finished that quest, because at some point there's a puzzle i started with no tutorial and it was too late when I realized i'd messed up.. so I gave up on it
I had to watch a gameplay on yt because I realized it was definitely an important part of the lore 😭😭 can u blame me tho, world quests are a chore
TakeyoThissssssssss2026-01-18 10:50
I played the whole thing and I dont remember more than half of it. I vaguely remember a guy turned into the water blob thingy in Primordial Sea, a super genius that make robot and Sandrone, a girl that die and turned into the water spirit (?), and you have to do a whole fairy tale quest to save someone (?). They all want to save the world cuz the prophecy but disagreed on how to do it.
Alone-Regret26062026-01-18 10:50
Hello, I am one of those players. Sadly, the story doesn’t really draw me in, even though I’m a big lore freak. I can spend hours in a quest reading books and notes in The Witcher 3, RDR2, or BG3, but this game doesn’t really grab me with its story or lore. To each their own, I guess. However, I really wish this game had a skip button.
I did this quest about the tower just today to reach 100% in Fontaine, and I found myself four hours in with no idea what was happening, because my interest just wasn’t there. I ended up loathing the quest because I couldn’t just get it over with. I’ve started to feel this kind of hatred or intolerance, because lore wasn’t the reason I got into the game in the first place. I got into it for the overworld exploration and combat, not the story.
I know this might come off as harsh or like I’m hating on it. I really do wish people keep enjoying the lore, but I wish I could skip it. The length of the vast majority of quests, for people like me kind of makes me hate even accepting quests. The amount of text and the way it flows is just not great. Maybe that’s the problem...They don’t really know how to write engaging stories that hook you from the get-go.
jedizruin2026-01-18 10:51
I play world quests, but I still have no clue who they are because I can't read those unskippable walls of text in dialogues
Remarkable-Video51452026-01-18 10:53
Im the guy.
I had 0 clue wtf the narzissennkreuz is and why its relevant.
And im still not gonna do it.
ExceedAccel2026-01-18 10:55
I have played the entire quest and I have zero clue who the Narzissenkreuz Ordo are, I just can't comprehend the story at all
siriuslupin652026-01-18 11:18
I highly reccomend this video that explains everything about the quest in the first 24 minutes
https://youtu.be/TO_dMU7jKlE?si=9Ol67fz-xQ2L-uTR
rathosalpha2026-01-18 10:57
I don't. To be fair though I just started sumaru this moth
Capital_Clothes_71602026-01-18 10:58
Wait is this the Wq with that house in a story where a girl lives? I lwk forgor about this but I feel like I’ve done it before. It had this loop in the story dungeon too iirc
GlazerDVD2026-01-18 11:00
Just watched a video of a streamer doing ACT 6 of Nod-Krai and THERE'S ADDITIONAL CONTENT WITH SANDRONE IF YOU'VE DONE THE QUEST BEFORE!
I wish I knew that before doing it q_q
SugarFreeShire2026-01-18 11:01
I did that WQ a few days before 6.3 dropped, so there are definitely a ton of players out there that just have no clue that >!we've met some of these people before.!<
thisperson3452026-01-18 11:03
I'm one of them, I think the AQs do a pretty good job of catching you up to speed though, at least enough to understand what's happening, definitely wanna go back to Fontaine and dive into the WQs now though, they seem really interesting
MommaToadd2026-01-18 11:03
i played it but I already forgot what happened.
Nod krai AQ also can be quick started so my friend has been playing it with only having been played liyue and mondstadt. She says she doesn't care for the story which is baffling to me. Of course she doesn't, she doesn't have any context and I don't know why the game allows to quick start it
CoconutxKitten2026-01-18 11:20
Quick start is so bad. New players come here super confused because they just skipped 4 years of content. The 600 primos are nothing in the grand scheme of things
MrZ18112026-01-18 11:03
I’m gonna be this way about reed miller whenever he’s relevant or a character is associated to him because my eyes glaze over every time he’s mentioned and it doesn’t help a lot of the first quests having to do with that were involved with children who literally forced dialogue on you when you just wanted to unlock teleport waypoints.
SAATVIK012026-01-18 11:05
As someone who didn't even play fontaine AQ yet , I feel it. Not that i don't want to, but the time just isn't there
caucassius2026-01-18 11:06
I played this quest and while I got the gist of things, like 70% of the entire dialogue was pure unnecessary fluff lol
CristevePeachFan2026-01-18 11:07
Is that red dress girl Mini-Sandrone? lol
Cocogoat_Main2026-01-18 11:08
This questline was peak
Beejustme2026-01-18 11:09
I didn‘t finish the questline but I forgot what I‘ve already done. There is nothing in my questlog, and I have absolutely no clue how to get back into it.
AdamDov4h2026-01-18 11:10
I'm so glad I started taking notes during quests. If I didn't I wouldn't have remembered anything since it's been two years, but the notes helped me both during the quest when Fontaine came out to connect all the dots, and even more now.
Those who did the quest already knew 100% that Sandrone was made by Alain, I mean, it was extremely obvious even just by seeing Mary Ann's photo, but having the AQ directly reference it, the sword, René and Alain, and how their philosophies came together, has been great, and it's a nice reward for the players who take time to do everything and pay attention to everything.
Now COWARDS, give me playable Jeht. I'll take even a 4 star, I just want my girl back.
Historical_Clock87142026-01-18 11:11
I played through all of it and I still don't know who tf they are. Jk I have a vague idea. The Narzissenkreuz world quest fried my brain. Much more than the aranara WQ if I'm being honest 😂
Fenrir8362026-01-18 11:12
I'll be honest, precisely because I haven't done the world quest yet, I skipped the whole dialogue where Sandrone yapped about it
Partially because the Archon quest was supposedly finished adn then we get a lonnnnnnng dialogue with her, but mostly because as I said I hadn't done the world quest yet
I intend to do it, I just couldn't gather the motivation to get down to it... and I still haven't. I don't like Fontaine, so its world quests are the only ones I still haven't done (and the new ones in Nod-Krai, but they're literally four days old, give me some time bruh)
eklatea2026-01-18 11:12
I played half of the quests, and was very confused but somewhat understood. But I didn't unlock all of them, namely the Unfinished Comedy one which I only learn now is part of it (I didn't want to go back to the prison)
corecenite2026-01-18 11:15
i played yet i only remember 50% of it.
Magpie_03092026-01-18 11:17
I know I played that quest but my memory is fucking bad....I don't remember anything sadly.
Els2362026-01-18 11:19
To be honest, I've played all the World Quests as they launched, and although I typically make an effort to remember important lore, my brain does not have the capacity to remember every single little thing, especially when it's complete potluck as to whether it'll actually be relevant again.
Obviously, as per the devs own admission, Nod Krai is a coming together of lots of bits and pieces, but... well, you can't replay any of these bits to refresh yourself.
What I remember of that whole Fontaine thing is basically Doomsday Clock, guy merging with Primordial Waters, and then hidden cottage with Oceanid girl... something something...
Arguably, this is one of the more recent "big world quests" only being 2-ish years old in the game at this point, but... yeah. 2 years and then it becomes relevant again through Sandrone is not making it easy for a lot of people.
Krii100fer2026-01-18 11:19
The cost of not paying VAs for world quests
TheSpiritKnight2026-01-18 11:21
Honestly the fact that such quests aren’t voiced is my biggest issue with them. They might be amazing, and I often do try to play them, but if you go into them after or before playing a voiced quest it’s just so weird.
cr0wtherr2026-01-18 11:22
This was me 😔
kugisaki-kagayama2026-01-18 11:24
Yeah... So crazy...

Yeah I am one of them...

everyone should experience the narzissenkreuz questline at least once in their life, they're still the best wqs in the game imo!! made sandrones story so much more compelling (i freaked out so bad when she first mentioned alain). p.s: cater we miss you come back
Eragon_the_Huntsman2026-01-18 11:30
I think I got halfway through? I don't remember exactly I just remember some maze section I had to repeat a bunch of times and then you run to escape while the water collapses in on it, I think there was a girl in a dream realm or something who was one of those water guys? I remember literally nothing else it was years ago and I never went back to see if there was more. I try to do the world quests but never find the time
Living-Global2026-01-18 12:00
I played and finished all the quests in fontaine and narzissenkreuz ordo but I still don't understand the whole picture....
Lagomorph7872026-01-18 12:03
I did this quest and still don't remember who any of these people are.
buwuwuwuwunny2026-01-18 12:11
I played it and still have no idea
_Charlieee3_2026-01-18 12:26
Another problem is also that the Narzissenkreuz quest was last mentioned over 2 years ago and I remember almost nothing from it anymore😭
CaspianRoach2026-01-18 12:34
imma be honest chief, i played through all the fontaine quests and i can barely remember what the hell it was all about
genshin world quests have a habit of tell don't show, leaving all the important information in dry and unremarkable text logs you forget the moment you click away
hellschatt2026-01-18 12:40
It was quite difficult to understand even if you played it because it's all over the place and drops many character names and concepts in very confusing ways.
You really have to piece the lore together yourself by really carefully reading everything and probably writing down stuff to see all the connections and to fully understand it. I personally don't do that.
On top of that, it was 2 years ago, it's difficult to remember the details.
You basically have to watch a 1h lore video anyways to get the full picture. I simply watched that Ashikai lore video that was recommended here to finally understand that thing lol
OramaBuffin2026-01-18 15:36
The ordo is my least favorite meta WQ for pretty much this exact reason, which gets me under a lot of fire in genshin subreddits. Too much of the story and background is just caterpillar or a piece of paper yapping at you for fifteen minutes with a million names you remember reading before.
And it's not attention span skill issue. 150 hour rpgs are my jam. I knew what was going on but the ordo questline was just legitimately hard to keep track of doing it over several months of patches even if I liked the individual pieces of it , and I'm not the kind of person who consumes lore videos or recaps. I think the lore is really cool but the execution is extremely dry.
I liked Natlan's WQ and weirdly enough also Aranyaka a lot.

That sound like a dick thing to say?
You sound the exact same.
Endgame is at least a somewhat interesting allocation puzzle.
But as a story game, it’s pretty crazy that people will not do WQ
If I was playing Genshin for the story, I'd be pissed at all the pointless characters getting shoved in my face for an hour before being relegated to cameos, at best.
"It's crazy that \^" is no longer an objective statement. It's now an opinion that you can't believe that someone *like that* exists.
Go to a "I want a skip button" thread and tell me no one says bad things about people who don't give a shit about story.
OP said something that matches the generally story elitist vibe of this subreddit.
I responded in that context.
The subreddit got big mad. Must have hit a nerve.
In the Talmud/Old Testament (Sanhedrin 4:5), states:
> "Whoever saves a single life is considered by scripture to have saved the whole world."
At times, the water creatures were just too poetic, that my English reached it's limits.
Yeah I agree that it can be a bit exhausting. Though for some reason the Narzissenkreuz quest was especially bad for me.
Rerir in Chinese - Moon Hunter.
Rerir in Japanese - Moon Hunter.
Rerir in English - Rächer of Solnari.

\- also look for the Unfinished Comedy quest and the Ancient Colors quest

It cannot be a coincidence that the other loquacious ego maniac who tried to become a god, had tons of lore in Sumeru in due part to study of rebirth mysticism and Khaenri'ah, was around people with Eleazar symptoms, and was involved with clones is mentioned repeatedly before Dottore's appearance.
I'm convinced (and have been since that quest in Fontaine) that Dottore is one of Rene's rejected clones which would explain both his obsession with Scaramouche (the *other* rejected artificial being) and his inferiority/superiority complex.
You're cooking
If nothing else the parallels do feel deliberate
But in my Native language NarzissenKreuz was a horrible experience
It’s long, monotone, boring
It dumps tonns and tonns of monotone lore dumbs in a dryest possible text.
I asked like 10 people who were refering to this quest as a “good” one, and not a single one could give me a recap of what actually happened in it.
I also found the Tower to be extremely lame as the location, and final boss to be a bit of a disappointment. (They just painted Tulpa in purple, bro)
In my book, The Jeht questline is infinitely times superior.
It's also rather blatantly Alice in Wonderland coded which is kind of funny.
Although it's mostly I'm just lazy and unmotivated to quest 98% of the time, I'll do them eventually
We all know this means you'll never do them. Which is entirely fair if you don't want to. but you are missing out on some of the best content in Genshin since the writing isn't held back like voiced content is.
Oh, I did get caught up in some world quest about some weird little blobby creature and painting though.
Same with Sumeru.
i'm f2p and if i ever need a lot of primogems i start exploring and doing quests and even hold off on claiming achievement primogems
I even got characters from waaay back then and only do them if they're blocking a quest...
It was interesting but a bit difficult for me to follow, I might have to watch a YouTube play through as a refresher
That's like the perfect time for the dialogue boxes to have the little annotation for the character name but it rarely comes up for WQs
I felt like those fancy names were supposed to show me how important this guy is, but I completely missed it.
I just remember that I got a neat sword and that's it xD
Completely forgot about it during the Natlan story line and when Sandrone mentioned it I was honestly puzzled because I didn't remember who Rene or Alain was.
And I felt kinda stupid since I clearly remember doing the quest but I don't remember any specific aside from Seymour (the mecha dog).
Wait was Seymour from the ordo or that one Melusine quest.
Jakob is the one in the melusine quest who tries to reawaken Elynas
* spread across months of patches,
* padded by walls of texts with fantasy (in)coherence,
* assuming these previous ones be memorable enough to build onto.
Now if you're working IRL, you might be forced to rush in what play time the expiring patch events afford you.
The latter is absent, so players don't feel the build up)
Gamemodes like Isleweaver having story relevance, but without the event introduction it released with, players have only YouTube archives to have full context
that quest line really make me want to go out and atomize all the treasure hoarder
he was right in the end, a symbol will lose it meaning and be perverted by other for their own mean, better to die and forgotten in their own term then survive long enough to become the butt of the joke
There's a risk of running up the data storage, but I think it's possible to have them as an optional download pack like a lot of current story quest content. Regardless, it's better than leaving new players with absolutely zero clue about critical lore and characterization.
Albedo has a lot of his very interesting lore and background locked away in event stories but since he's an important character for the endgame and a 5 star, he atleast has a little bit of leeway but the 4 star curse is real. But yeah they really need to atleast let people play through the quest itself from previous events, the 5 Kasen one, all Albedo events, 2.8 GAA, Nahida's birthday, the recent Sumeru quest from 6.1 all add enough to the lore to actually get a player to care about the story and these characters more
"if you don't play my events in time, you will not only miss on the rewards, but you will also never fully experience the story as anybody else - so think carefully if you want to take a break bc you have a tough semester in college or someone you love passed"
World quests have always been the more interesting ones ever since Inazuma
If you're ignoring them because there's no skip button, how would that be any different than doing them but skipping the whole thing anyway. Just say you want primos mate.
It just made me close the game and play Elden Ring. It's probably bcs I hated Fontaine puzzles and swimming gameplay bcs it just invalidated your characters, and if was to read a story, I usually prefer a book. It's sad bcs it's the only region I don't feel like doing 100%
Yes, I read all those world quests and this is what I understood.
For me, there's no difference between the two; in fact, some of the most important information came from the World Quests.
If these quests were animated and voiced, they would be the true highlight of the game's story.
Hopefully no one skips the Reed Miller quest lines
I had to watch a gameplay on yt because I realized it was definitely an important part of the lore 😭😭 can u blame me tho, world quests are a chore
I had 0 clue wtf the narzissennkreuz is and why its relevant.
And im still not gonna do it.
https://youtu.be/TO_dMU7jKlE?si=9Ol67fz-xQ2L-uTR
I wish I knew that before doing it q_q
Nod krai AQ also can be quick started so my friend has been playing it with only having been played liyue and mondstadt. She says she doesn't care for the story which is baffling to me. Of course she doesn't, she doesn't have any context and I don't know why the game allows to quick start it
Those who did the quest already knew 100% that Sandrone was made by Alain, I mean, it was extremely obvious even just by seeing Mary Ann's photo, but having the AQ directly reference it, the sword, René and Alain, and how their philosophies came together, has been great, and it's a nice reward for the players who take time to do everything and pay attention to everything.
Now COWARDS, give me playable Jeht. I'll take even a 4 star, I just want my girl back.
Arguably, this is one of the more recent "big world quests" only being 2-ish years old in the game at this point, but... yeah. 2 years and then it becomes relevant again through Sandrone is not making it easy for a lot of people.
genshin world quests have a habit of tell don't show, leaving all the important information in dry and unremarkable text logs you forget the moment you click away
