What do you think is the safest nation/place for a civilian to be

I joined genshin a few months ago but I know the lore a little better now and have completed all the AQs, but it made me have a question in my mind.

since all nations have monsters/enemies, all are technically unsafe but at the same time, considering the protection they have from others like for Monstadt, the hexinzirkel, for Liyue the Qixing and Adepti, and so on, but which is the safest nations for the normal civilians with no visions?

I just got curious so sorry if I may be asking a dumb question 😅

It’s gotta be Natlan now that the abyss has mostly been dealt with. Most people know how to deal with Saurians and there really isn’t many other threats.

Fatui agent still roam the region causing troubles, there's still issue on bandits especially the treasure horders, abyss eldritch creatures still roaming the land, and finally there is no law enforcement what so ever protecting the roads like that of the knights or the millelith. Yeah not so safe for the common civilians. They may have deal with the abyss but human problem? I'm not really sure.

Mountain_Pathfinder2026-01-18 14:36

They're scattered dots of trouble spots compared to the *hordes* of Natlanese warriors you encounter out in the wild though. They're opponents to us because they kinda just want to spar iirc, but if someone were to need actual help, I think they'll come to the rescue. They don't have law enforcement, but *a lot* of their people are capable fighters with experience.

Additionally, I think it's mentioned somewhere (either Chasca's Quest or voicelines, i forgot) that the Flower-Feather Clan used to have the duty of patrolling all of Natlan, which I suppose has the possible implication that that duty is now taken by every tribe's warriors.

I do think Mondstadt is still safer, especially considering its concentrated population centers + their prominent characters are generally stronger above Natlan's imo, but Natlan I'd argue is number 2. Then probably Fontaine, Liyue, Sumeru, Inazuma, and finally Nod-Krai.

Mondstadt hands down. No problem with the abyss, no threats what so ever and no treasure horder bandits. Theres regular patrol of knights in outside the city. And lastly the fatui has no influence what so ever on mondstadt nor cause any trouble. The only reason the fatui manage to enter and set up in mondstadt is because most of the knights of favonius soldiers are away in nod krai.

BoughKeeper2026-01-18 14:16

The mages also swore to protect Mondstadt, so they also have one of the strongest factions after Celestia guarding them from any abyssal/nation ending disasters.

fubukishirou072026-01-18 14:20

Plus they have dvalin a literal dragon and andrius a former god whose power came from the first angel koitar.

icemoomoo2026-01-18 20:50

I have bad news about that.

BoughKeeper2026-01-19 13:22

i mean we don't know if the deal they had with Varka is the same as the one they had with Venti

icemoomoo2026-01-19 17:08

Varka kinda confirms that it was the only one, otherwise he wouldnt risk the extermination of mondstadts fishpopulation.

Counterpoint: Fontaine also has a regularly patrolling police equivalent, and no abyss leakages/entry points regularly causing havok like Sumeru, Natlan, and Nod Krai all have. Fontaine has already dealt with it's long term abyssal whale issue similar to how Mondstat has dealt with it's abyssal dragon issue.

The Fatui have house of hearth active primarily as spies, they're not exactly going around harming civilians.

So then are both equivalent? I guess they are?

Indigo_Mindset4202026-01-18 15:02

I would assume the long standing child trafficking (not just the HoH) and the noticable crime rate is also considered dangerous to civilians. Such things are negligible in Mond.

fubukishirou072026-01-18 15:11

Still, there are alot of fatui agents still roaming the region that either causing trouble or outright scared the civilians into traveling and there are pockets of treasure hoarders camping. So they are not equivalent. Mondstadt only problem are the hilichurls that are managable for the patrol knights to handle. And there are no malevolent group that wandering around on mondstadt like the fatui ar the treasure horders.

Hatarakumaou2026-01-18 14:05

Mond only had 10% of their military force to work with for over 5 years and they only had 1 real crisis in Storm Terror. Not to mention Venti is there and always willing to step in if he judges thing to more than what mortals can handle (like with the Hexen invasion)

Zattenn2026-01-18 16:43

Mond is even safer now since most of the expedition force are back already, well they're mostly on Dornman Port but that still counts since i doubt its far from Monstadt's city

RA45262026-01-18 14:06

Mondstadt cause they got Venti and Hexenzirkel and Knights of Favonius and Diluc

fubukishirou072026-01-18 14:12

Not to mention a literal dragon and a former god whose power came from the first angel koitar, andrius.

Paulistarlight2026-01-18 14:24

It's got to be Inazuma, somewhere near the Mika Furnace

Hudie_is2026-01-18 14:30

Definitely Mondstadt. We have so many protector here, Venti is a given, and the knigts captains are also competent like Jean Kaeya Eula Lisa, we have Gold disciple Albedo, Diluc and now Durin also resides here. The mages has pact with Barbatos to protect the nation and Dvalin is free from corruption and ready to protect Mond as well.

Not to mention, attackers will surely get exterminated if they hurt Klee

Shahadem2026-01-18 14:49

Mondstadt.

The only real danger are the Hilichirls.

But every nation has Hilichirls.

Even Enkanomiya which makes no sense at all.

Fontaine would be second but they have a big organized crime problem including an orphanage that sends kids to assassinate anyone who speaks out against the Fatui.

For some reason that orphanage continues to be allowed to exist when it should be shut down and Arlecchino executed for treason and espionage.

Rush1662026-01-18 18:30

Mondstadt, for sure.

They're basically ruled by one of the original archons.

They have a dragon and a wolf deity.

And they have a contract with the witches, who take care of Klee, who is Alice's daughter.

Alice protects the borders of Teyvat; she's perhaps one of the strongest characters we know.

refance2026-01-19 00:14

today I would say Liyue or Mondstadt

lostn2026-01-19 03:44

right now? Natlan. No more abyss wars. Everyone is chill.
