The “real” sky we saw in 6.3 AQ is drastically different from the one we have seen before. What happened? Which layer of sky was torn open then?

there were 3 moons in the past, in the upper image we see the remnants of one of the destroyed moons. Only the frost moon remained intact (the one in the lower image).

Indeed but still, the cosmos they have shown us looks way too peaceful to match its previous description.
In the book “Before Sun and Moon”, it was implied that Phanes shielded the Tayvat from the larger universe to preserve it from outside attacks.
Also in the Archive notes about the All-Devouring Narwhal, it was stated that the universe has been has been "constantly trying to infiltrate Teyvat”.
And not to mention that the real colour of the skies seems to be blood-red.

The same sky can be torn apart but at different sections. It just so happens the section in Natlan was in direct view of the Eternal Moon if the sky were opened there while the section over Nod Krai was in direct view over the Frost Moon for that place.

maybe because the last time we saw the broken sky it was in Natlan, and now its in Nod Krai? that's why it's different, the broken sky in side Atocpan is also different

It’s the same layer since they pulled the frost moon down from the real sky to the fake one. It’s prob just a different part of the sky
hana-hana-no-mi2026-01-18 15:13
Oh, so they actually just pulled the Frost Moon down to the “fake” layer? Makes much more sense tbh.

You do realize the view of space is “not” fixed right because the planet rotates? Meaning you are not going to view the same part of the space at 9 am vs 11 am, much less in a different hemisphere.
hana-hana-no-mi2026-01-18 15:20
It wasn’t about the view, but about the state of sky.

It is bit odd that the moon isn't corrupted by the abyss

everything else is questionable but not this, the whole bringing Bina back plan was she split herself in three. Her soul was in the prison with a link to luonnotar, her body was in nod Krai and her authority was on the moon. Since the moon held her authority as the trilune goddess I can't imagine it being affected by the abyss.
SirBrilliant58382026-01-19 03:07
You would actually expect it being corrupted since Nibelung turned these things into weapons of war, unless HP cleansed it afterwards. It is food for thought though.
InfiniteKG2026-01-19 04:29
you stunlocked me actually by mentioning Nibelung, for some reason I completely forgot he was affected by the abyss so the moon authorities made by him shouldn't be that unnafected for such a long time...yh, I take back what I said it is kinda weird. Maybe directly outside isn't too bad? you might have to venture far out to get really exposed??
