Its so funny to me because the only harbinger that I have thought so far was handled badly is Signora. Capitano maybe but Im not convinced that he wont come back yet. Maybe its because I find it counterproductive to assume things about someone before physically meeting them based on word of mouth but I've never cared about how character lines portrayed the harbingers. Its always just felt like unreliable narrator.

I also think that its more than believeable that a bunch of super powerful beings would have their own history and goals that might put them at odds with their organization.

I think Signora as an antagonist could have benefitted from being a recurring villain that we don’t properly defeat until later. Imo the fact that her very interesting backstory is hidden in artifacts is kind of sad. The rest of the harbingers we’ve met so far have been given some focus on where they come from and how they became who they are in proper voiced content (except mayyybe dottore but he did get some tidbits in the Layla event. I’m also certain his story isn’t over unlike Signora).

Other than her I was a tiny bit disappointed with Sandrone. Not her personality bc I love it. But moreso because the first nod Krai trailer made me think she’d play a more antagonistic role throughout the archon quests and not just in the beginning. And I was just a bit sad that they dropped the fatui colonization plotline so quickly. BUT I also acknowledge that her reasons for becoming less antagonistic make a lot of sense, and I enjoyed the Rerir plotline that made everyone come together instead of fighting.

Two things can be true tho; I wish they spent more time with her being against us but I still like the way she turned out.

Also I agree with the unreliable narrator thing with voicelines. I never bought into the eldritch horror Columbina headcanon although I did hope she might be more morally grey than she ended up being. I still enjoyed her story though and I’m satisfied with it even if it didn’t match my predictions. Because predictions are just predictions and it’s fun to speculate and see how right or wrong you are.

On paper yes. But as we have seen, the traveler effectively removed more than half of the Harbingers by either death or winning them over. The only ones left that are rooster, pierro, and regrator and regrator and rooster fcks each other over cause they hate each other so in a tactical standpoint, let them fight each other until they're no longer helpful. that leaves pierro as the sole harbinger that's purely at tsarita's side. And that's assuming the other nations aren't going do anything which is impossible at this point after dottore tried to end the fcking world.

I think 10 it's either another Irminsul delete (maybe forbidden knowledge experiment went wrong, Rukkha nuked it, and since it's an Irminsul delete nobody questioned the absence of 10) or since Childe's more of an errand boy, almost always out of the loop, used by any harbinger who needs to use him, they just made up another number for him so he can feel like he's part of the group instead of giving him an actual empty seat.

To be fair the berry-picking thing happened years ago in the story itself, not just years ago IRL, and that was presumably shortly after the Fatui openly tried to wreck Liyue Harbor. So yeah harassing the berry-picking Fatui was pretty mean but also *understandable* (not necessarily justified) given the circumstances.

At this point, I don't think the Traveler should be assumed to have a burning "hate" for the Fatui as a whole. I think it's safe to say they still consider the Fatui to be an antagonistic force, but they're aware that on many occasions the Fatui have done good things, even if they have their own agenda.

Either way I'm sure Mihoyo will clear it up once we get to Sneznhaya since the Fatui will be front and center there

I mean, they realistically wouldn't address any of that since it's not an actual plot point. The inconsistency and hypocrisy is just an unfortunate byproduct of gacha game writing, where advertising characters will always be more important than the plot. In other words, we're only friends with the harbingers for marketing reasons, it doesn't really go much deeper than that. Hoyo for some reason cucked themselves with their stupid self-imposed 'playable characters have to be friends with the traveler' restriction, and the writing suffers because of it. It's so stupid because it's not like anyone would care, and what you do in gameplay makes no goddamn sense anyway. Would Neuvillette suddenly teleport to Mondstadt and kill pigeons in front of a ten-year-old boy? No? So why would playing as an actual villain set off alarms?

It’s looking increasingly likely that the conclusion of Natlan’s story is not happening in the 6.x (Luna) versions. Which leaves open the issue of the pyro gnosis, and we can’t advance the Tsaritsa’s story without it. In which case, it seems like the story in Snezhnaya will start without the pyro gnosis, which makes it plausible that the harbinger that will be sent to retrieve the pyro gnosis is .. the traveler themselves after joining the fatui in 7.x.

Who knows, maybe the traveler was always the 10th of the fatui harbingers, due to timeline shenanigans and Istaeoth/tri-lunar authority.

I think that after the Traveller actually finds out about what the Tsarista is planning, we may be the person who delivers the Pyro Gnosis.

Like, so far Mavuika seems to want to keep it in case Natlan needs to weather any other storms, but if we as Tumaini asked for it, she'll be willing to let it go.

Honestly the harbingers biggest detriment so far seems to have been in no small part thanks to Dottore being allowed in at all (seriously so far a ton of problems seem to be all related or caused by his influence) and some have mentioned and pointed out the mess in Inazuma was his fault to begin with, they sent Signora there to clean up the mess but she was not the best person for the job and unfortunately due to a combination of making a very poor impression on the traveller for bullying Venti (despite the theory he deliberately let her have the gnosis feigning weakness for reasons unknown) and picking the worst place of all to throw hands with them ends up taking a Shogun to the face. Honestly Signora just had horrible luck and timing and later dialogue seems to suggest she was the way she was due to loneliness more than anything.

The whole thing with Childe ended up being a manufactured faux crisis by Zhlongi to make sure Liyue could be safe if he "retired" he still ends up getting the gnosis and becomes friends with the traveller, Scaramouche ends up "removing" himself from the world and going back to college as Nahida's "guest" after our trip to Sumeru and ends up finding out Dottore was the one who was responsible for killing his friend (along with wrecking his early life) with the travellers help, even Arlecchino has become a friend of the traveller after helping deal with the situation in Fontaine and getting the Gnosis there as a reward. The captain gets a fitting end being able to not only deal with the abyss in Natalan but being able to stick it to Ronova for the curse of immortality and using his situation to save Mauviika and return his and the souls of all the people he saved to the leylines of Natalan. Columbina ended up being saved from fading away (and the true moon being restored to the skies of Teyvat) thanks to the traveller and friends working together and despite Sandrones apparent demise by Dottore I doubt shes done as she seems to have had backup plans in place incase of being taken out. (She'll be back.)

At this stage I would nearly half expect the Traveller to nearly get the Pyro Gnosis off of Mauviika at some point just to figure out whats going on in Shneznaya and to get the Tsaritsa's attention and figure out what her plan is about dealing with the Heavenly Principals. Also with most of the Harbingers clearly associated with the traveller I would not be suprised if they offered them a spot in the Fatui at some point. They know they're the 4th Descender as well and considering the Tzaritsa will be the final Archon to be added to the roster it would be no surprise for them to look to enlist the help of the one person who could theorerically oppose the Heavenly Principles when they're at full strenght.
