Raiden's end scene with <spoiler> hit hard
Just wanted to share my (re-)experience with Raiden's end scene with >!Signora!<. I've seen it time a few times already. But because I'm working on something this time, I've had (the opportunity) to rewatch it several times. Maybe I was just overwhelmed the first time I passed it, you know, battle and all, but it hit different this time.
>!After a few seconds of silence to contemplate, and maybe stomach her defeat in disbelief, she musters as much composure as possible to reinstate her position as a diplomat as professionally as she can. But as she sees Raiden continue her advance towards her, she panics and starts scrambling for words. By the 8th time or so that I've listened to her say, "*... I will make sure that your precious Inazuma*", with such desperation and grunge or distortion in her voice... And then, she finally gives up shouting, "*Filthy rats! All of you!!...*" while throwing everything out the window in despair... These last 2 lines... I found myself gritting my teeth, and yes, mentally fighting for Signora.!< The voice actor did very well in this scene to say the least!
Now I understand why the fanbase was so broken when "A Winter Night's Lazzo" came out. It was like when (Transformers 1986 movie spoiler next) >!Optimus Prime died!<. It's easy to root for him because, protagonist. It broke me. But this time, because it's >!Signora!<, I'm confused what to feel. Pretty sure I'm not alone.
