I don't think her strength alone will be enough against the full power of the Abyss. Even Nibelung was corrupted by its influence considering he is vastly more powerful compared to the moons. In fact i think we will realize in due time that the presence of Phanes actually was and still is elementary for the Teyvat's continued survival. And it's not gonna be as simple as "They genocided nations they are pure evil.".
Our current knowladge about Phanes is pretty much all negative due to the fact that all sources are either: People who never actually interacted with them, the original inhabitants of the planets who lost against them or people that got punished severely due to breaking the divine rules. In fact when we do actually hear something about Phanes from a source that was directly linked to them (aka Nicole). We learn they are not outright hostile to everything and everyone and can be tolerant as long as other side cooperates (like the moon sisters).
I think the way we see Phanes will change dramatically when we hear the same events from their pespective. They most likely be a morally gray character that has good and bad within.

At the time I of a robot that recently gained sentience and needed to figure out existence (like Johnny 5) but a child is probably a better comparison.

I have also heard that theory and I have always chosen to believe it is true since she admitted to also watching us in her voice lines. And nothing will convince me that she put that commission up for anything other than watching us have fun bouncing around.
