Calculator gives the max possible theoretical damage with perfect execution, test dummy gives the number you can achieve with your hand.

Can you explain what you mean?

A calculator will tell you what's possible with what you have. An actual test dummy will show you what you yourself are able to do, regardless of the calculator.
A calculator could say that with my builds and perfect rotations, I should be able to do 500k DPS (as an example). However, when I go to the test dummy and try it, I can only do 300k DPS. Why? Mistakes in the rotation, lag, Mualani missing her ult again, a buff or debuff falling off, my hands are too slow, etc.
Calculators are good for showing the max possible, but your own comfort and familiarity with the team and rotation are what really matter. The calculator is the theory. The test dummy is the practice.
