what weapon is the best for zhongli, using him for just shield support with eula. i’ve heard mixed things, main ones i’ve seen are the catch, Favonius lance, and black tassel. i’m thinking favonius?
I personally go with Favonius for the energy particles.

Same, I have c2 tho and having 100% uptime on his shield in coop is what I shoot for which makes fav even more important.

Favonious gives more team support by providing energy particles for the party, which means you can build less energy recharge on your carries (and put more artifact substat rolls into crit). Black Tassel gives Zhongli more HP, which in turn makes his shield thicker to protect his carries better. The Catch is a dps weapon, which most people don't really build on Zhongli. The Catch is generally better on burst DPS units like Xiangling or Rosaria.

Black Tassel is just a cheap method to get Zhongli going. Build all of this stuff for shield strength and that's it. Favonius if you can spare it. There are too many good spear uses that want to use favonius if you don't run into a conflict. Getting an R5 favonius weapon is very good for consistent and frequent particle generation.

Black tassel for shield bot, Fav for more general support but weaker shield + you need to build CR, Catch for burst dps, and Pike for physical dps.

BT for more shield. If your team needs energy then Fav, but you will need to build some CR on him for fav.
I pretty much never use his burst unless it's to break geo shields, so he doesn't need the energy.

Favonius is only useful if he has a decent amount of crit rate, a sub stat that is normally useless if you are just building him for his shield.
The catch is useless for a shield build. It can be good if you are building him for damage.
