"Why did the Moon Sisters so easily accept the HP?"
In the AQ I was wondering: "Why did the Moon Sisters so easily accept the Heavenly Principles? Why didn't they try to protect the dragons?"
The lore from new artifact "Aubade of Morningstar and Moon" dives into this topic.
First, there is some kind of destructive force in the universe. The Voyager once visited Nibelung and warned about it:
>"I have seen the lightless end, tearing through star clusters like a spindle among silken threads."
>"I have seen how the cold tide of chaos drowns out all songs, so that good and evil alike vanish into silence."
(This part is from the Finale of the Deep Galleries set)
Nibelung left Teyvat to find a way to prevent this doom.
>"To find the answer before this planet was also consumed, the great dragon embarked upon an arduous quest alone."
Many millenia later, the Heavenly Principles came to Teyvat. The Moon Sisters knew that they have never stood a chance against them.
>But whether by submission or rebellion, by battle or by death, the Lord of Hosts would mercilessly crush all that stood in its way.
The Moon Sisters also knew they alone cannot protect Teyvat from "the inevitable doom." They chose to accept the new order of the Heavenly Principles, hoping they might be able to stop the doom during the absence of Nibelung.
>The Lectors of Thirty Nights knew that alone, they could not protect this lonely, desolate planet from the inevitable doom that approached.
>Before the coming of the final extinction, no victor in the struggle of good and evil could be worse than the doom of falling together into eternal oblivion.

Though no matter who won, they would've gained a dying world as thanks to the DK, bringing the Abyss to Teyvat, they inevitably brought the very thing they tried to stop gift wrapped allowing it to gain a foothold in the world.
Though it's still questionable if the destruction they all fear still exists as Skirk is proof of this, though time is messed up as while 500 years have passed on Teyvat it could be far longer outside of it. Not to mention that it's possible that the siblings have been on Teyvat far longer than they realized.
